My Dad’s cousin had a severe stroke, and all she could say afterward was “Ni ni ni ni.” Whatever you said to her, her answer was “Ni ni ni ni.” We thought she could understand what we said, but it was hard to tell.
That one long comb must look like a tube and Mocha is like „why is she brushing me with a tube instead of FEEDING IT TO ME?“ and then realizes „oh, it’s not a tube“, then 2 seconds later „hey, a tube!“
I’ve fostered a few wobbly cats and other cats with mobility issues and one thing is that their paws tend to get a little funky over time because of the way they have to carry and brace themselves-their claws get thicker, sometimes the ligaments that control their claws get worn out faster because they’re constantly grabbing onto things or splaying their toes to maintain their balance. You gotta watch out for early arthritis with these guys cos they use their bodies in such a different way!
You’re welcome! I own two cats with no hind limbs and between them and the wobbly, mobility-impaired, and elderly cats I’ve fostered it’s a pretty common trend. Good news is that arthritis treatments have really advanced, and you can talk to your vet about getting them on joint supplements early. Supplements with glucosamine can really help support their joint health and delay the onset of symptoms that might need more serious meds/intervention.
The good news is that cats often recover very well from strokes. Our sweet late Princess had a stroke when she was 18. Not two days after coming home from the vet clinic she was doing vertical jumps out of her safety play pen and over a baby gate so she could go upstairs and find her person.
Always good to have a cat obsessed enough with tubes that you can easily clip their nails! Bless you for working on this survivor despite everything. Despite being mad about the whole thing and wobbly, she decided to only scratch a little and sing the song of her people! What a sweet round face she has!
She's plumping up nicely from a prior life of barnyard living..good for her. That barn life has nothing on those tubes. She will eat them nonstop if allowed to and she will never regret it.
2:17 I've commented this before, but bathing a cat is like handling a stick of butter with wet hands. 😂 Also, I suspect my cat has spring allergies probably to some kind of pollen. Using air purifiers REALLY helped her allergy symptoms (as well as helped my own). Much love to the very cute wobbly kitty! ❤
She probably feels she has to eat something while she can since she probably had to work very hard to eat all her life as a barn cat. You were very kind and gentle with her! Wonderful!
Yes, every one of our rescue dogs gulped their food down leaving empty bowls - even if they were the only dog in the household. Our vet said they ate like that because they never used to know when they were going to eat next. Sad really. ☹️
Barn cats have to have reasons to hunt rodents instead of birds and it's being hungry enough. But having a barn cat not be feed enough to the point they feel like they don't know when there next meal is? iiirk
@@cookie856 I'm sure there's theoretically cats out there that need to be hungry in order to hunt, but I've never met any. The instinct attack *anything* that moves like a small rodent or bird is extremely strong in them. My current cat has been an indoor apartment cat all her life. Does that in any way stop her from pouncing on everything that moves now that she temporarily lives with my dad in the countryside? Nope, she's catching at least as many rodents as any of our previous cats - regardless of how well fed she is (and I know dad is spoiling her, he is physically incapable of not sneaking treats to any cat that begs at the table). She doesn't even know what to *do* with the rodents, she just knew she had to catch them and then she comes in to show them off.
Coincidence: I have a 5 month old tortie kitten that I got from the shelter and renamed her 'Mocha'. Seems like the Mocha in the video did well having her bath considering her health issues. Food driven cats are definitely easier to work with.
I had a cat that hated being brushed. He was a long haired thick coated boy so he needed to be brushed. The only was to brush him was to put some treats in front of him. He would growl while eating the treats. You could brush and trim his nails while he was eating the treats. He would not bite while eating those treats. Miss you Jareth you little goblin kitty.
OMG, my cat and tubes. Lol. She's an elderly cat and enjoys a tube as a nightly meal. She's a gentle cat. Eats when she feels like with dry food but at least a tube is needed and she lets me know at 4:30ish PM every day. The only thing is, that I can't touch her when she eats. Lol.
TUBE! One of my old boys was perfectly content to get his subcutaneous fluids as long as he got tubes with. Always helps to have a partner for the procedure. (RIP Tiny)

It is either asthma or she could have polyps
"CURSE YOU, GROOMER!! I HEREBY VOW YOU WILL RUE THIS DA- ooh tube!"
😂😂😂😂
You speak cat!!! 😂😂
Hahahah
unexpected Igon reference.
😂😂😂 Spot on
Not going to lie, I love Vanessa's new 'Easy Bake Oven' for drying cats! Nice job on Mocha!
I hope she calls it that after seeing your comment. She has the Rage Cage and now the Easy Bake Oven. LOL
bruh
thats a good name
This needs to be the name 😂
And now I hope it has a timer with a bell, so when your fluff-muffin is done, it goes _DING!_ 😂😂😂
@@alexisgrunden1556 Not a Microwave, but a Cattowave?
I love her purrs. They sound like a cement mixer.
I had a cat with asthma so he had a gravelly purr even though his asthma was well controlled. I loved that sound.
@@shroomyk i have a gravelly purrer :3 shes a lil bean
Sound like Joey Diaz. Tremendous.
I have human asthma. Does the gravelly purring mean she's having an asthma attack? Hope not because asthma attacks are as uncomfortable AF.
Cute dry box
My grandfather had several strokes and the only words he could say clearly were curse words. I think the same may apply here. 😂
My Dad’s cousin had a severe stroke, and all she could say afterward was “Ni ni ni ni.” Whatever you said to her, her answer was “Ni ni ni ni.” We thought she could understand what we said, but it was hard to tell.
@@censusgary My friend's grandmother could definitely understand what was said to her, but only reply "I love your life"
@@janelte If I had to say the same four words exclusively for the rest of my life, I would prefer “I love your life” to “Ni ni ni ni.”
@@censusgary did anyone ever buy her a shrubbery? Just to see if she'd glare at them.
That is both sad and funny. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤❤
Vanessa: She's breathing like that because she has allergies.
Mocha: Allergic to groomers.
As much as I admire Vanessa she does make amateur diagnoses now and then.
I should have said non-qualified, not amateur.
@lindap8101 And you completely missed she got confirmation from the owners that the cat has allergies 🙄
@@lindap8101 She literally said that she got confirmation from the owners that the cat has allergies, though.

Yes, after she said she thought the cat had feline asthma.
That one long comb must look like a tube and Mocha is like „why is she brushing me with a tube instead of FEEDING IT TO ME?“ and then realizes „oh, it’s not a tube“, then 2 seconds later „hey, a tube!“
I totally agree! I'd be mad if someone was trying to brush me with my cookie or chicken finger! 😂
We need a compilation of the cameraman slowly warming up to cats over time. It’s genuinely so wholesome 💜
I agree!!
CAMERAMAN! ASSIST!
That’s a Hallmark Xmas movie right there!
Toxoplasmosis got him 😢
Love the "making up for all the cats who deny tubes" 😄

Thank you! My elderly kitty’s claws have been changing like that lately, so it’s good to know a cause!
I have a mobility challenges, and this all applies to my feet as well.😊

Hearing that a cat can have a stroke broke me a little and made me go hug my 14 year old kitty 🥺
The good news is that cats often recover very well from strokes. Our sweet late Princess had a stroke when she was 18. Not two days after coming home from the vet clinic she was doing vertical jumps out of her safety play pen and over a baby gate so she could go upstairs and find her person.
One of my best friend's cats had a stroke last year and she's recovered marvellously, they are very resilient!

I had one obsessed enough to allow regular administration of subcutaneous fluids. (RIP Tiny)
Mocha at the end was like, "Can I get some tube to go?"
Mocha is 90% tube 10% cat
Poor kitty, having a stroke, and having to be groomed. She said a thing or two, heard purring. She is beautiful ❤️
She seems so amazing and cute
its gotta be a weird af experience for a former barn cat, she did insanely well considering that
I find her wobbling makes her look even more tube obsessed. Seems like a very cute cat.
Her little grunt purrs were so cute, oh my goodness.
Shes so freaking adorable. What a good girl. She handled that pretty well considering. You were very patient with her! what a sweet mocha kitty
She seems so sweet but showed her spicy side… love the new drying crate… it looks like a laundry dryer machine
It really does, now that you said it!
@keelhe893 Mocha isn't spicy she sweet cat. Not a spicy bone in her body
4:23 "Wait where's my treat? You tricked me!"
I love how she went after the comb as if it was another tube xD
"I am Mocha! Queen of the Night! Hear me roar and prepare to quake when I...ooh! Food!"
She's so cute! Little puppet! 🥺 Kitty-cat stole the cameraman's heart!

She's plumping up nicely from a prior life of barnyard living..good for her. That barn life has nothing on those tubes. She will eat them nonstop if allowed to and she will never regret it.
It’s her retirement, lol.
You're very cute, Mocha!! I'm glad you are still here with us despite your stroke. I enjoyed watching you get your spa day. ❤
Mocha is a very pretty and understandably irritated lady. I'm glad she has loving owners.
1:16 she's not taking any interviews at this time, thank you

She is so precious. I love loud purrers and vocal kitties. She takes after my wife. Nothing else really matters when there are snacks involved
Wow I thought my cats like tube, but Mocha is like “Give me the TUBE NOW”. My rescue stray will follow me anywhere for a tube.
That accusatory look at the cameraman in the shower just got to me XD her in the Floofbox was so sweet

She's adorable! Little furry snuffling tube monster ❤
