Welcome 2020 and with that comes new adventures of my stitching journey.
With new products and tools to help make my stitching more productive, enjoyable and fun. I would like to introduce you to my new portable Mini Stand.

This stand ($155) plus the shipping ($50) to the US is $205, which is very expensive for a tabletop stand. Their products look to be high quality and I would have ordered one, but the price is simply out of my budget (a full Lowery stand shipped from England is a total of $137). For those who can afford it though, this would be a beautiful and functional stand. Edited to add: Just to let people know, I did end up purchasing this stand. It's as fabulous as Teresa thinks it is and is a very high quality piece of craftsmanship (it's solid wood with quality brass hardware...nothing cheap about this piece). I ordered it in February, the pandemic hit in March, and the stand finally arrived in August....it was worth the wait.
Where did you find the price? The stands we saw look nothing like the one Teresa is showing us. The Thread Box was on the site, but not the stand. Thank you!

Oh my goodness...way too high in cost! I actually went to the website and saw the M2 and M3 series and wasn't sure which one is in this video. As beautiful as it is, I'm too cheap to spend that kind of $$ for the stand. I'm sure there must be something comparable in the U.S.?

Teresa, your excitement over this stand is infectious! I love how happy you are with the stand. The fact that it fit in your handbag was amazing. I took a look at the site and like others have said, it's a little steep for a table top stand (I already have 2 different ones lol), but I will keep it in mind for the future. Please post an update of how you like the stand after your trip to Arizona! You'll love it there!

Thank you very much for this video and so thorough review. I have similar kind of issues with my stitching projects, so I was also looking into getting a good, stable and compact table-lap stand, that I could use everywhere, even on the beach or in the garden, sitting on the grass under the apple or the chesnutt tree, listening to the bird songs and happily stitching away. Yes, it is really expensive, but to me it looks like a good investment for years to come, and even can be handed down to grandchildren, or sold still for good money.

Hi Mary thank you for your lovely comment - but I have to say I'm not in Australia sweetie - I am from the UK So nowhere near any fires I am pleased to say. But for all those in Australia I can only imagine the devastation they are facing.
I stitch in hand to keep it simple. But that stand looks wonderful! I was so excited with you! I like to keep things neat as well. I hope you keep stitching on your HAED’s even though I completely understand you not having time to stitch! I am too tired most nights as well and I don’t think I am nearly as busy as you, but I do work long hours too. Happy stitching on your new stand Teresa!

I got my mini today!!! I think I'm in love 🤣🤣🤣 I got the dark brown one and it's fantastic. The customer service for the company was soooooo good too!!! Totally recommend if you can spare the money!
The set up/editing/production of your videos is always amazing!!!
My favorite stand is Just A Thought. I have the floor stand. It can be adjusted any size and can be used with any type of hoop or frame. It is beautifully finished and is very good quality. It is expensive, so I had to save up for it, but I am so glad I did. My next expensive purchase is going to be the Annie's Keepers system.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way when it comes to working on the big projects. I have a couple, and I love them, but I’ve learned over the past couple of years that it is best for me to only plan to work on those on the weekends and work on smaller projects during the week that can be done with a smaller frame. I have something similar, I think mine is by K’s Creations ... but you’re right ... game changer!! Could you use the packing boxes to store some of your stitchy/crafty stuff? They really do look like nice boxes!! Thanks for sharing. ~Katrina
Many thanks for this product review. I was thinking of getting something like this as I like to stitch in the evenings watching the telly but I couldn't get a comfy position with my floor stands. This looks like it may do the job! Isn't it amazing how products for stitching have developed over the years. I have got back into cross stitch last year after a 20 year break and everything is so different - threads, fabrics and the equipment! Best wishes for 2020 and happy stitching!

Wow,amazing stand and box, they are so well thought out and modern, they obviously consulted Stitcher’s and got it right. Lucky you! I’d be happy to have the shipping boxes as well, I’d paint them to match my craft room and put them on the shelves to put things in. Or use them for small hand tool boxes in the greenhouse, they are too well made and visually pleasing to just get rid of. They have obviously planned to not use plastic, to be able to reuse everything , even the packaging. I’m sure someone would be happy to use them for something. 😃. This video has been so helpful. I was looking for reviews for the mini and yours fit the bill! Thank you for sharing! Also, I moved my entire floss stash to Annies Keepers a few years back and still absolutely love the system!
I had a stroke and is paralized left side, I taught myself to embroider 1 handed. Cant do french knots as its definately a 2 handed stitch, there are more stitches i cant do so I just adapt what I am doing, at least I still get to do it. I only have a small table stand with a 16 inch hoop, but it works for me. My son bought a hardware clamp and we clamp the little stand to which ever table my wheelchair fits under

I have just come back to cross stitch after about a 20 year hiatus into other things.....I also have this challenging left thumb arthritis and am looking for something like this stand that may relieve the weight from holding frames. Some days are more challenging than others. I think this stand will help that matter on days that it is difficult. Thanks again and Happy Stitching!!

Oh, Teresa, I was just watching this for the stand review and now that it's 2021 I find it really funny that you mention so much in this video that 2020 is the year where you're going to have to learn to adapt. If you only knew, right? (Thank you btw for the stand review! I've been using q-snaps and this is really helps me see the benefits of this stand and what I need to be looking for. Love your channel!)
Very stylish and very well made. The makers obviously take a pride in their work. I had a look and the price us way out of my league😕. I enjoy stitching in hand anyway lol. Couldn't you store some charts or thread etc. in those great crates or garden stuff? Envious of you going to USA but you work Long and hard so you definetly deserve it.Have fun and lots of stitches.😃
Thank you for sharing. This mini is wonderful and I am placing an order. It looks like you can use the packaging for a cross stitch finish. I seasonal piece on each side and something on the top. Just a thought but I am not sure of the quality so I don't know if that would work. Happy Stitching! PamC

I'm the same, don't stitch loads cos it's not very portable. That packaging would make nice little planters, could paint them.

Elizabeth Corsini ... when the order went, I got an email from the maker - once the item is made, they notify you and you send payment. the maker told me they do accept PayPal, but no payment until it’s ready to ship.

You have to create an account . It costs around $155.00 but you have to add shipping . Where I live it cost 55.00 In shipping.

Hey Teresa! I saw this video when it first came out and just came back to it again. I saw country stitchers video on the same mini stand as well just now. And thought it was a bit different then yours. The new version i believe has flatter knobs on the back and bottom of the stand. When i went to the website, they have your review video posted under the mini stand. However, they removed the back knob completely and the bottom knob is flatter. So i was wondering if they sent you the new knobs to try out or not. Because the question I had with your mini was if thread got caught on the bottom knob now and then or not.
If you havent gotten the new knobs, definitely try to contact the company so you can review on the new mini stand!

You can use stand at lunch to stitch also Is this the third style on site. Trying to figure out which one it is. How much is the box you have please? There are not prices on the site. Someone posted price of 205.00 for stand. thank you for help You can store your patterns and fabrics in the shipping boxes
I went to the Velke Potoky website... couldn't find a price on ANY item. So I put it in my check it out... thinking it would show,,, NOPE... no price. Only thing showing was a $50 flat fee shipping. It wanted my payment information first. So I didn't buy it because I don't know how much it is and plus the shipping if it would be worth it. (I live in the US). Darn it!

Thanks for showing and explaining these , they are fabulous, just a quick question are they made of wood or plastic? The packing boxes you could use to store your dahlia bulbs or something similar, they look too good not to use. Arizona sounds fabulous! Karen R

I thank you so much for your lovely message! There are a few comments on this video where some do not like me sharing the new tools i'm using - I just like to share is all - I'm not selling anything. But then when you put yourself out on social media like this it can be a balancing act to keep all happy with the content. It appears on this video that someone doesn't like the look of my face now either! What that has to do with stitching or stands I do not know - Sometimes the comments hurt and I wonder why I don't just slip away from Flosstube - but then there are the majority like you - So thank you for having my back and all your support on my channel xxx

Happy to see you found a way to do some stitching without the Big floor stand. I’m the opposite. I stitch in hand, and found it difficult to do that keeping bigger pieces of fabric controlled so started looking at frames and stands in 2019. I bought a few snaps, a lap / table stand and a floor stand. I used the 17” qsnap once on a midsize project, I have an 8” project loaded on the table stand, and most nights after work I’m working in hand, no frame. It’s hard to adapt, we are such creatures of habit. I hope you enjoy Arizona, you’re coming at a good time of year. Be prepared for a much dryer environment. Be sure to pack or get lotion and sun screen. Might have a day of rain, but it comes and goes quickly. Thank you for once again sharing. TTFN!

I really like the stand. Do you know what the largest diameter hoop it can take and still allow you to flip the hoop 180 degrees to get to the back?
Hi Linda, sorry as i'm not a hoop user I can't say. I use a 9 x 6 Qsnap and that just works if that helps at all.

I used to have a frame with stand, but with a house like ours, I find it standing too much in the way here, especially with a 6 year old and a 4 month old baby.
So I bought some cheap 22 x 22 cm qsnaps via Aliexpress and now I use them constantly in my recliner.
By the way, when will you have another livechat with us again? Last time I was able to attend, was during my pregnancy. 😅😂

I had to laugh about this....I have projects all over the place; I stitch in the family room and now have two (yes two) spots where I stitch and they are a mess and a half. I have no solutions, but I am always working on it. Yes, I have the "eyesore" stands of various kinds I have collected over the years.Have you used this stand in your lap? Lovely video

So this stand sounds like it's made of plastic.@ $205. I'm not a fan of Q-snap for cross stitching but I already own one for quilting. I have an Elan table stand that use the same why as this stand I used a mat to keep it from sliding. Now the Elan isn't light weight but for the price I'll carry the extra weight

Hi Jan, I am flying into Phoenix and then staying with Debra who lives there. So unsure what plans we have (that is all in Debra's hands we are her guests) - I know we are going to an LNS there - so will have to have my credit card at the ready lol. First I want to thank you because I have been binge watching your videos and, as a new cross stitcher, you have given me confidence to try things I might not have tried otherwise. A quick question on this stand. I am looking for one because craning my neck is starting to hurt. What is the largest size Q-snap this type of stand can hold?
Hi Nicole thank you for your lovely comments. The downside of this little table stand is that it is more for hoops and small Q-snaps so I would say 9 x 9.

Teresa do you still use this 3 years later or is there another stand you use for retreats? Currently shopping for something.
i do still use this and I use the lowery side clamp attached to my table and I also use the omanik table stand. I am thinking of getting the omanik floor stand but haven’t decided yet. I find I need different solutions for different parts of the house and different types of stitching. I am still searching for the perfect set-up! Happy stitching. x

It is very strange that there are no prices listed on the website and you have to contact company for the price list... Does that mean that the prices constantly changing?...
Thank you for you comment. Velke Potoky have always traded this way as far as I know. I am just a customer the same as yourself. I think this is just the way they do it. I have not heard of anyone being charged differently for the same product.

Hi Teresa! Just discovered you and love your videos!! I am a newbie in needlepoint and love the portable stand. This may be a silly question, but can it be used with stretcher bars and if so, what would be the biggest size recommended. I have emailed the company twice to inquire, but have not received a response. Going back to 2015 to start watching all your videos and so far unto #20!

No only hoops orsmall qsnap for the mini stand. They do a floor stand but will only work with big hoops or qsnaps im afraid.

I saw your video sometime ago and liked it very much but I had an Elan stand at the time. Well, it didn’t work for me, so I am looking forward to buy the Potoky, but I would like to have your opinion after a year of using it. I am 80 years old with neck and back issues. Do you think the Potoky would work on my lap and give me enough height so I don’t have to bend the neck so much? Your opinion is much valuable so I thank you in advance. Kind regards. Patricia
Hi there! Sorry for the delay in responding. I'm very behind on my replies lol! i'm not sure the stand on your lap would be high enough if you have underlying neck and back problems if honest. But if you had a cushion on your lap and the stand on the cushion I think it would be better. If you sit up at a table rather than on a sofa or armchair then I think the Lowery table clamp could be a very good contender for you.
@@TeresaLittleStitcher Do not worry about the delay, I know how busy you have been with additions and repairs in your home. I ordered the Potoky on March and I am still waiting; we know the pandemic has delayed everything and we all have felt the consequences one way or another. Love your videos. Would it hold a quantum frame?
No afraid not - the quantum frame would be far to heavy and big. This little stand is to use with small/medium hoops and Qsnaps.

Hi Sharon I think others in the US have priced with the shipping in the comments. Obviously the shipping is different for me as in the UK. I think they said for the US it works out $200 with shipping, but you would need to check depending on where you live.
What size qsnap is your project on for this video?
Looks like possibly a 6x6 or even an 8x8!
