    Your beading flosstube was so well done. I am intrigued with the BOB case to corral beads safely. I do use the same bead storage as you do because I find the bead packages difficult to open without loosing a few beads. The beads are enhancing Andromeda so much. I also use a tapestry needle to bead if the needle will go through the bead too because a sharp needle can poke your finger and potentially get blood on the project.

    Hi! On the invisible thread you can brush some nail polish on the end so you can find it the next time. Dark colors are best. Wait till it dry’s of course before stitching. :0)

  • @cup_of_floss

    I found when attaching beads on the angle, if you want them to be a bit more secure (as they would if you did a full cross through them), do a plus stitch + rather than just a half cross stitch.
    So if you're stitching over two fabric threads, use the holes between where the needle normally goes to make your + stitch.
    No idea if that makes sense 🤣. But this is how I do it. 😉

    I came across this video last week and saw your full cross stitch series for beginners. I’ve been doing cross stitch on and off (more off than on) for like 5 years, but always stamped. I don’t really like them. Your series inspired me to purchase a HAED chart and try my hand at a counted cross stitch. I actually went back to your very first videos. I’ve been watching them all while I cross stitch at home. It’s like I’m learning with you. I’ll be caught up to your current videos in no time.

    As a beaded, If you spill your beads do not panic. Go get your knee high Nylon hose.. Put that on the hose to your vacuum cleaner and hold onto it don't don't let it go Of your nylon hose. The point is not to get them sucked up into the vacuum cleaner and go through it the point is late is your nylon's act like a filter and they will catch the beads. When you've got the beads picked up is dup tilt the vacuum hose slightly upwards and turn the vacuum off so you don't have to vacuum everything up again then then take the Nylon hose out of the hose cause it did get sucked up in there a little bit but it's not in the vacuum Dump the beads into the container

    Talk about timing for this video, I have ordered my first Miribilia, expected in the post any day now. Really unsure and may be over my head, but this video helped so much. Thank you!! One more question: how did you secure the invisible thread on the back of the project? I always look forward to each of your vids. Wishing you best of health and happy stitching.

    • @TeresaLittleStitcher
      @TeresaLittleStitcher  3 роки тому +6

      Oh how exciting your first Mira! So using invisible thread I just do two overhand knots through one or two of the stitches to secure the thread. When you have finished beading with the length I run back and forth through some of the stitches then do another knot and run back under a few stitches again then cut off the end 😀

I'm getting ready to start beading on a Joan Elliott piece and while I have beaded in the past it's always been very minimal. Just wondered if you have ever tried the YLI #100 silk floss for beading. It’s really fine but also really strong and comes in loads of different colours if you want to match with your background fabric. I just use a neutral, either grey or beige,doubled in the needle which seems to work fine and is almost invisible. The best thing is it’s so well behaved - none of the madness which goes with that curly invisible thread!! Only downside is it’s pricey but it does a long way. Currently beading Princess Elliana with no tantrums except when I throw a whole pot of beads on the floor 😬

    Andromeda is looking wonderful. I am getting ready to bead Crystal Symphony by Mirabilia and there are something like 10+ packs of beads for it. It is an older pattern and it doesn't provide any detail about how to do the beading other than to say use color to match bead or invisible thread. I love the diagonal that you did with yours so I may try that instead of doing a full cross. The back stitching has been a nightmare because the lines on the pattern are all black and the instructions say do this or that with this color but you have to figure out where one color ends and the next color begins.

    Great information! Really love the technique. Katy Frederick introduced me to clear and black invisible thread. I've used it once, and let me tell you, trying to get around other beads in the same area is a nightmare of knots and sadness. Such great tips! I like how you keep the thread out of the way. I'll be using that technique from now on. Every project I've put beads on, I've found there is bunched up, looped, snagged invisible thread on the back. So frustrating. I've had to pull those loops through the stitches on the back or try to stitch them down because I wasn'y going to take out all the beading. Finding out how to better handle the invisible thread is fantastic!
    How do secure the slippery invisible thread to be sure it holds when you end it?

    • @TeresaLittleStitcher
