Back in the days of Barry Voltner and Matt Adams. I don't know if any people on here know of Matt and how he's developed his very successful business at DFC engine rebuilders but he's an incredibly talented, smart and driven guy who rebuilds all diesels to a degree that no one has yet, to my knowledge. Mat at Optimal Welding reminds me of Matt at DFC for sure. If you're considering doing any thing like this to your Cummins, DON'T HESITATE! Take it to Mat and you'll be very happy with the results and quality of workmanship and knowledge he has. Thanks Mat, awesome job!

Picked the truck up and drove it back on the14th of October. WAY nicer to drive and with the single muffler, perfect sound level and just as quiet in the cab as stock with just a nice growl on acceleration. Not one single problem with the truck on the way home, 780kms home. Lots more power to pass and way less turbo lag. Start up when it's cold with the exhaust brake and the vanes closed on the turbo, music to a diesel guys ears for sure. Averaged about 14L/100kms thru the mountains and I wasn't taking it easy shall we say. Once I hit Alberta I averaged about 12L/100kms and again, I didn't take it easy. Thanks to Mat at Optimal Welding, great guy and he knows his shit for sure. Have a Cummins? Take it there, it's worth the drive wherever you may be. Thanks Mat.

The glass never was a problem, the third brake light leaked after people removed them to install LED's and did not seal them properly. It's funny how you Ford and GM guys try to poke at Ram, I guess if you can't catch them poke at them...

We have the Ford F250 work trucks and the doors are horrible. Tin cans. My truck here was pretty good but I still added some sound deadener to the door skin on all 4 doors. Super solid now. If you get a chance to go for a ride in one do it. It's actually quieter than my S4 Audi
Just installed optimal welding tunes last night On my 2021 ram 2500 waiting on my switch to come in the mail so I only tuned in the low boost fueling 60 hp tune but wow what a difference.

Hell yes! The wizardry continues! The muffler you used looks short, I had one like that on my 08 Cummins and is burned out quick hauling heavy. You can go to Gregg's distributors and get a Donaldson for under 100 bucks and it it's super quiet. Keep it up man you never cease to amaze me with these vids!
Don’t move to southern Ontario then. Emissions testing (varies on specific location) using OBD port rather than the old curb-idle test. The program has changed but it’s still a pain in the ass and random roadside testing by the Ministry of Transportation is not uncommon. Rural BC or Alberta is a better choice where it’s still the Wild West.
@@policronia Tbh in the states its fairly easy to do depending on the state. I just tune down my 04 cummins when I have to dyno it for emissions. Although, I don't have any DPF or after treatment. But, there's tons of guys that run stealth deletes and just have a super low tune for emissions.
I drive semi trucks and we get inspected In scales all the time and your not allowed at all to by pass any of that and people still do it they run the delete through the def tank so you can’t see it. The epa law isn’t really gonna change anything
That little black thing on the connector is how dodge can tell if you messed with emissions. Like if you delete it then put it back to stock for warranty work.
But if he gets the 2500 for a good price and sends it to optimal welding he can increase the power to the high output version and still cost less in the end

Diesel engines run lower rpm because everything in them has to be heavier and stronger to take the high compression of the engine. Another consequence of this extra weight is extra rotating mass which means higher centrifugal forces acting on your rods, pistons, crankshaft.
Can you delete them and put a regular muffler to calm the sound down? No offense but in my opinion the cummins deleted and straight piped sounds like chewbacca taking a dump.
I'm getting mine deleted next week I've been watching these videos since I made my appointment I cannot wait I also ordered Ram air intake and some other pipes so I should get even more horsepower as well as a tune on top of that in two more weeks I get my 22-in wheels on 37 in tires and my amp steps so I've spent about $25,000 on this truck in the last 3 weeks

Is there anyway to modify the stock parts to not function, but still look like they are there? Like gut the exhaust, but still have pipe there, or just put a plate over the EGR hole?
Yes, been done that way lots of times. All of the under hood components can be left but shut off with tuning. As far as the exhaust it can be left but has to be modified otherwise it will plug up over time. But people have hollowed out the stock catalysts/exhaust and reinstalled for a stock look. All very doable but only issue is if your area requires emissions testing every inspection. If its just a visual inspection then you're fine.
@@dieselman8v923 They only check if they see stuff out of place, or a CEL light is on. If the OBD2 is not sending any codes, you should be good. It helps if the inspector is cool and knows the work arounds.
Unfortunately, word is that the EPA is going through the steps to require inspections for registration renewal in every state, already in Commiefornia and several other states. No way around it that I can see except to return to stock for the inspection....

With the new dep action im sure no one will try. But the earlier dt466 wasn’t bad even the ones with egr only were ok. But the dpf maxxforce is complete garbage, it should be a crime for selling them to the public at least they don’t make them anymore. Cummins all the way!

On my 4th gen it was the third brake light I put all LEDs in it . An Siliconed it in place lol no more water under the back seat 👍
My 2014 had water intrusion through the third brake light. Silicone fixed that.

Get the 3500 with the 1000 ft pounds of torque and the extra 50 hp. The 2500 doesn't offer it sadly. I've driven both and it's worth it.
But if he gets the 2500 for a good price and sends it to optimal welding he can increase the power to the high output version and still cost less in the end
I know it obviously pays off for you but it takes brass balls to start just unplugging stuff on a brand new truck. Props to you.
Give it some time. You can't unplug things and not tell the computer ignore them.
