I really applaud your ability to just jump into a transmission and start ripping it apart. I've been through school and have my associates in auto tech and still get nervous when I rip a transmission apart lol

Koshunae I have none of your education so I’m even more terrified. Clips, washers and a whole bunch of stuff I don’t have a name for. IF and that’s a big if I got it apart I’d never get it back together. Hell, I’d never of gotten it out.

You just motivated me big time to undertake my 68RFE build myself. I've rebuilt numerous industrial drives both gear & fluid types so I'm no stranger to following diagrams and instructions and getting a good result. Automatic transmissions have always intimidated me but after watching this, I know I can get a good result if I buy good shit and take my time.

How the hell does someone just decide to rebuild a heavy duty transmission? Damn thing had more parts than the space shuttle in there. I'm sitting here watching this thinking, aint no damn way he will know where all that stuff went. Pretty impressive.

I'm rebuilding a F-18 Super Hornet tomorrow. No big deal really. Lots of UA-cam videos and I have some specs, so I should be fine. I've never rebuilt a fighter jet before, but I should be ok. Just going to take my time. I'm a little worried by the fact that I am blind, have no legs, and only one good arm, but other than that, I'm good to go.

Someone in design/engineering really screwed up if it's user-serviceable without high dollar equipment, right? I'm sure they'll rectify that in the future and make the next version more complicated.

I just bought a 2019 cummins 3500 with the 68RFE and at 900km I started having an issue with my torque converter not disengaging when slowing to a stop. the whole truck shudders at 30km/h and won't downshift unless I hit the breaks and basically stop, it sounds like the transmission is going to drop out. I'm at 2800km now on the truck and its not getting any better and now on my 3rd week waiting for the dealer to get the new converter in.after watching this video I sure hope there won't be any damage to the clutches in the transmission or anything else by the time the dealer gets their shit together.
