- In this adventure, we swap out the primary reduction gear pair in our GTO's G-Force G101 transmission to increase the gear ratios, so we can accelerate quicker.

LOVE THE SOUND OF IT. THOUGH.
Nice goat I got a 67 with a rock crusher- Hurst super shifter. Had it 44 yrs. It's factory blue like yours but I doubt it's as fast.
I have the same compressor and transmission. Mine has the Tex racing case as well. SS/H 66 Chevy II 275/327.
Cool combo, love those things. How loud is your T101 in 1-3rd? It still seems like there's something wrong with my trans, as it's SO much louder than my Nash.
@@The_Performance_Laboratory I've never had mufflers on it + fenderwells with 3 3/4" collectors. So I can't really hear it. I've driven Jerico street cars and they are loud.
IF you ever get to the point that getting items made for the Doug Nash box seems valid, a place in Winnipeg you may want to consider is Argus Metals on Saulteaux. Seem to deal in materials and treatments that should lend themselves to replacement gears and other internal parts. [not affiliated, ended up there as they are listed as a "supplier" for that Valco Cincinnati dispensing tool, have heard of them before, never used them; others local may do the same job]
Thanks for that tip!
Great video my friend well done and great info!
I enjoyed the last few minutes.... I can totally relate .... been there done that!
Thanks for the feed back my ratios are what I came up with for a Autogear M23 and yes 3/4 gap is not ideal.
Great video sir, where did you get that drive shaft loop from
Thanks. That loop originally came from Performance Years Pontiac parts, which is no more. However, I just checked and it's available from Ames Performance Engineering.
Really like your channel! I’m building a 1964 Olds F-85 strip/street would like to hear your thoughts on Gforce and flywheel/clutch choice. My motor is not going to be as strong as yours but have a 12 second goal. Let me know if and how I can contact you.
Hopefully have a clutch video coming soon. Feel free to ask anything here, as I don't have a specific youtube contact email set up yet.
i was thinking how did you get the shift fork on reverse like that?
Finally a victory Ed aside from not having the correct shim but you didn't know about that. One word of advice ............. Q cards ! lol , well done
Like'n the filler music. Love the old goats. And I'm a big Mustang fan.
W.t.f. doze that trans cost. U know lm trying to afford 2.nd Des. T -10.
What trans ratios did you go with?
2.98/1.85/1.33/1
And I should also ask your rear end ratio? I’m build a small block Olds so torque and Hp in the mid to upper 300’s. What do you think of these ratios: 2.99/2.2/1.59/1 4.11 rear?
@@jackruss5056 I run a 3.73 because Drag Week. If not for the highway driving, or if I had an OD, the car would really like a 4.11 or even 4.30. Wow you have a huge jump from 3rd to 4th that will really pull the RPMs down. You might want to tighten up 3rd (and then likely 2nd as well), or better yet leave 2&3 and put more first gear in it, like 3.25-3.35. That will definitely help with limited rear end gearing, and a smaller low HP engine.
