😆🤣😆🤣
Just ran out and did this, works great. Now I can actually put stuff back there and get it out. Awesome tip man! Thanks
Sweet. I thought about replacing it with a five or 6 inch cable. Just to keep it off the wheel a little. Please share the video
The steering wheel is what kills the driver. Me thinks this was to keep that from happening.
Wish I would have learned that 26 years ago! Thanks Chris...again...
Right on brother.
Same here😂
Wow. Im pretty slim myself but trynna load up my daughter in her car seat has been kickin my ass. Big thanks!
Glad it helped!
I LOVE THAT ! Had no clue...duh only had the thing for 19 years....THANK YOU!
Know ya Know!
Hell yeah that's why I love your channel you show me cool shit that has me punching things sometimes 🤣
Thanks. Lol
Now that’s some fresh rust
Michigan living!
My golden retriever is going to love this
Nice
Great tip! Always hated that the driver side only went forward a few inches.
Thanks. I’m a big guy. It helps when I need to climb in
@@BroncosandPartsGarage I don't ride in the back of my own truck
@@percyhill9400 lol
Just did it. Thanks for the tip. Will look to extend the cable a little bit.
It makes loading a lot easier
Brilliant hack! Thanks
Thanks.
Who doesn't want an extra 6-8"
That’s what “_____” said! 😄
My favorite Era Fords sold my 96 Short bed last year I regret it every day like a lost family member
Buy another n fix her up!!
@Broncos and Parts Garage The ones I find not rusted out are far away so far but I keep looking
🎉🎉🎉 yes yes YES 🙌
Lol
Awesome
Thanks
Not worried about getting passengers back there because my lever to move the seat forward is broken. Hhaha. So, no luck there. Great info though. Thanks man.
Me neither. But quick runs to store- it helps. Lol. I sell seat frames.
@@BroncosandPartsGarage They hard replace? How much? Shipping would probably kill me though.
Nice
Thanks. It’s a great hack
This is good to know, Ik the single cabs had a cable to hold them from going all the way forward
Just keeps the seat from hitting the wheel
Outstanding tip! THANKS!
It works!!
I get a kick out of how many people must have never bothered to check their seat for themselves. All a guy has to do is look. "Oh wow... there's a cable there... wonder what that might do? 🤔"
Some people have said it’s to prevent the seat from hitting the steering wheel. But they’re dead wrong. No pun intended. It’s simply to keep the armrest from hitting the gearshift lever because as seat slides forward the armrest is pulled up to clear it. All the other bolts are hardened and 15 mm. This is a tiny little Phillips screw. Lol.
@Broncos and Parts Garage yea. I did this little trick about 15 years ago, because I was tired of having such narrow access for passengers in my Bronco. It's an incredibly easy little trick. I simply get a kick out of those who've never bothered to actually look, yet they complain. Then they see you do this little tip... and it's all: "OMG!! Wow! Best Ever!" 😆
Thank you!!
No problem
thanks for this! i think ill run a longer cable
Probably unnecessary, but I could see why some people would do it.
I’m going to have to do this tonight!
It helps !!!
Super Hack 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Word well
Or if you don't have the fancy version there is a lever on the back that fully folds and pushes it forward
Not on bronco bucket seats. Nothing moves seats past that cable.
@@BroncosandPartsGarage well either mine doesn't have the little strap or my seats are older then yours idk
Thumbs up for such info Sir ....
Thank you.
EJECTO SEATO CUZ!
Lol
Bad ass
Makes some easier entry
What!?!? This is great to know!
Yup.
Thanks I don't know that. What I need it a new set of 96 bronco front seats
Email me
Thank you!

Nice tip Chris! Any chance you will do a video on replacing headlights? Heard they are a pain in the a$$.
Yes. We will be installing an HID setup.
make a leather seat replacement video.
Just unlatch. Pull pins. Remove bench?
smooth
It’s a neat thing if your a bigger person
🤩
Thanks for watching
@@BroncosandPartsGarage no thank you I've my 94 bronco for 11 years now and I'm still learning new things about that I had no idea about thanks to people like you on youtube... .heres one don't laugh I had no idea that the rear seat was foldable by releasing the locking mechanism and pushing it forward tucking it behind the driver and passenger seat.i just learned this a few months ago here on youtube....I was blown away 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wonder if this hack would work on my sliding bench seat….🤔
I’ll be checking tomorrow.
I’m not sure. No armrest so no cable needed
@@BroncosandPartsGarage Yeah, you’re right. Damn, I’m just a 6’4” 300 lbs. dude hoping to to not get stuck in his Bronco again…pretty embarrassing, but my girlfriend had a good laugh at least😂
Thanks for the reply. Love your vids and insight👍
Thanks man!!
I just use that to discourage more than one person asking for a ride.
Brilliant. Lol
That's the least of your worries look at the door pillar the rest is all rotted all the way through if I rip the door off
Lol. We parted this truck out.
@@BroncosandPartsGarage I don't know what you can even part out it needs a blonde to the scrap pile
Nobody has ever ridden in the back seat of my '95 bronco with front bench seat.
Why?
@@BroncosandPartsGarage It just has never happened, 3 can comfortably ride up front.
Thanks for this-made a BIG difference! Appreciate all your other videos, too. Any way to increase the travel on the passenger side bracket? I don’t see a cable like that, but mine still does not slide as far forward as I’d like.
The passenger seat slides forward the same amount as the “modified” driver seat. There are no restrictions.
Huh. Well something must be hanging mine up then. Thanks for the reply!
What is that cable supposed to be used for if it stays connected? Thank you for any info
It only limits how far the seat will travel so your armrest will not hit your steering wheel or gear selector when you slide the seat forward. There is a cable in your armrest that raises it when you slide the seat forward.
Why load passengers on the driver side? The passenger side front seat typically has more room for everyone to get in. Some even have the passenger seat flip up for this very reason. I never let anyone get in from the driver side of both my Ramcharger and my Bronco.
Both seats glide fwd. but sometimes it’s nice just to load junk on drivers side if no passengers, right?
@@BroncosandPartsGarage
Very true!
I am also looking for the trim for the hardtop on the inside do you have any for sale that would be great and the hardware for the hardtop
Email me the year. Contact info is in video description.
Thank you so much for getting back to me it is a 93 Ford Bronco XLT 5.8 so you have the hardtop window that would be great and the hardware for the hardtop how much I would really appreciate your help
I cannot find a passenger hardtop window for the hardtop it's a 93 Ford Bronco please help
We stock them. $60 ea
@@BroncosandPartsGarage so you have the passenger hardtop window
I could def use an extra 6-8 inches 😂😂😂
That’s what she said. -Michael Scott Dunder Mifflin
Good fix but i think the rust is getting in there befor them 😜
Lol. That truck was parted out into a 100 pieces. It’s all for sale. 😃
That ,s the good thing about keeping old car going one gives up its parts
@@keithwallington4966 absolutely. Supply will run out. We store lots of parts
What's the point of the cable?
To keep your armrest from hitting shift arm.
cool hack
Thank you !! Lol
You know you don’t have to cut it right? There is an additional release that allows the seat to go further forward.
I understand the steering wheel is what kills the driver.
Them you understand there are 4 15mm hardened fasteners that hold ur seat in place and seatbelts… but you think a 1/8” Phillip screw into thin sheet metal will save your life? It’s only to keep the armrest clear of the dash when it swivels up when seat is slid forward.
@@BroncosandPartsGarage I was thinking that cable was a safety incase the seat slider lock failed.
does it work on the passenger side too??
No. The cable is only there to limit the seat travel so your arm rest is not hit your steering wheel or shift arm.
Did not work for me
Must have a broken seat then.
Just don’t wreck
lol. Seatbelts and seats are bolted down with huge grade 8 bolts. This thin cable is held in with a tiny #2 Phillips screw. It’s only designed to keep your armrest from hitting the gear selector lever. Thanks for watching. And yes, drive safe and don’t wreck!!!!
Let’s hope you don’t run into anything with that cable removed… it’s meant to keep the seat back in case of a crash.
FALSE. It’s only designed to keep your armrest from hitting your shifter. The seat and seatbelt are fastened with grade 8 bolts. You think a 1/4” long #2 Phillips screw is designed to perform the same? Shame on you for posting that. It’s embarrassing.
