Great video. I'm up at 4am in Nyc re remembering basic bitters and cross comparing recipes. I'm always glad to stop for a 6 minute video that's well edited. Always good to see you laugh and do your thing broski. Thanks for supporting us human bartenders.
Vlad SlickBartender do your thing as always man I'm avid follower. Thank you for the commitment and fun hard work/hours put in. Cheers from the city !!!. Come around bro.
You inspire me and i learnd a lot from you when i was a bartender in Mallorca last year Vlad, I've been following your channel since that. Your students are very lucky to have such a teacher like you. I hope you will never stop making videos. Wish the bests man!
Nicely done brother as always. Interesting fact about Angostura Bitters. When it was first released in the 19th century, the label the company ordered for thier bottles was too big. Nevertheless they still released it. And now since then it has been part of thier trademark. 👍😎
Paul Goodwin yesss! I am a big fan of that product. Didn’t want to go much into details since quiet few videos online about their history. They are nicely passionately done by angostura reps 👍😊 We wanted to dive into cocktails since still a lot of people don’t know where to use Angostura Bitters besides old-fashioned and Manhattan cocktail 😉
What I love to do i pick a random cocktail ingredient at the store and make cool stuff from it. It's a great way to suprise yourself with the delicious things you can make
I'm told a dash of bitters in sparkling water is a good hangover drink to help settle the stomach. It may or may not be placebo with the bitters but the carbonation makes sense to get the water from your stomach and to the next stage for absorption quicker so you rehydrate faster, same as how sparkling wine kicks in quicker than still.
execelent video Vlad!! In sum, the angosturas and the orange angosturas are to give more flavor to the cocktail, but, i see that the angosturas most go or not, with Gin, Wishkey, and some sparkling wines. I´m close or far from it??
I'd say Peychaud's as it's also a gentian based one but it's not quite the same thing. It's as good as Angostura but it has more of an anise aroma. And I'm not sure it's easier to find. It even makes a fantastic combo with Angostura's by the way, and it's a good idea by Vlad to make his version of the Sazerac have both of them which is quite uncommon (as Sazerac is traditionally or marketingly made with Peychaud's as far as I know) but interesting since the combo is used in some of the best Louisiana cocktails like the fantastic Vieux Carré. I'd still say, go for Angostura as it is the most common (even if I have a hard time finding some in France for instance, and this is quite ironic since it might be the only country in the world maybe with Italy, to have some widely produced gentian liquors like Suze), super versatile, and it really does wonders to some cocktails. I crave it and I try to experiment a lot with it since it's bitterness seems to add some thirst quenching properties to your drink.
Try the Last Word cocktail. Equal parts Gin, Green Charteuse, Maraschino Liqueur and Lime Juice. 0.75:0.75:0.75.0.75oz ratio should do it. Or even try the Bijou? Get involved and give it a try.

Is there a recommended whiskey?
Very informative...love the video
Very ''how to drink'' like shots when pouring into the jigger and mixing glass, but I like it!

ORALIA ADAME We will work on something with chocolate bitters

Master did you know where angostura was invented????? 🤣
RAULBARTENDER Trinidad 🇹🇹
Vlad SlickBartender 🤣🤣🤣🤣 wrong!!!!!
RAULBARTENDER Then where VZLA?
Vlad SlickBartender yes bro invented in Venezuela but we lost the rights
What can be used instead of "peychauds bitters" for places that it isn't available?
I believe It can’t be replaced
The closest thing would be some kind of creole bitters, but they will be slightly different in flavor profile.
It takes 7 minutes to stir old fashioned till sugar cube melts perfectly, better use sugar syrup
Yep.
We wanted to use Demerara syrup but didn’t have it so I decided to use cube
I didn't know the recipe of angostura sour! I will try it...but...it seems to be a lot of angostura, my boss will never let me use so much angostura😅😅
these are all whiskey can you make any with rum
Can u show us how to make Angostura bitter at home
Roupen Esgenian it’s impossible... Angostura keep recipe in secret for a really long time ☺️
Nice this. 👍
I thought you would have lemon lime bitters in this.
When I was in my single digits my mum would give us seltzer with a dash of Angostura bitters to settle our tum-tums if we felt queasy because of sick.
Are there any similar alternatives to Angostura?
yyy yyy I don’t think so
I'd say Peychaud's as it's also a gentian based one but it's not quite the same thing. It's as good as Angostura but it has more of an anise aroma. And I'm not sure it's easier to find.

Nice video, how about cocktails with Chartreuse?
Yeah you’re right it’s pretty popular and not everybody know where to use it 🙏👍💪

Oh, you really meant "show" because there is literally no speaking or explanation of any kind... could have just been an article..
