She has a futon and sheets behind a curtain. She will probably sleep. When I was there last week she was on a break though so I did not see her but friends did
I remember my middle school had these types of little boxes idk how to explain it but basically instead of classrooms lined one after another down a hallway there were these big doors lined one after another down the hallway and if you enter these big doors there's a huge room, each contain four other rooms that were the class rooms. They called them pods, and each of these pods had I believe TWO of these little glass box rooms. It's hard to explain but it was cool nonetheless.
My middle school had pods, I thought it was a common thing haha maybe not but I remember it well you walked into these two big doors and there were was a center with about 3-4 in my schools it was a glass wall with a door connected to it and it was basically a class room
Every writer does this at some point, you have to respect that. Forcefully take away all distractions and write. However I'm not comfortable using such a small screen and would only use a big screen and tablet lol
Nah, it's the opposite..she lock herself up in public space basically,.so people could watch her like some weird attraction..even i have nerve of steel, i would still felt annoyed tbh.. 😅
So the science is new but being in a high ceiling or big environment actually helps you think big and be more creative. It's been proving being in the small little box actually generally for the most of people inhibits creativity and motivation. I have this on good authority from a Stanford professor here on yt. There's more nuanced and to the story but that's the essential ideas overly simplified
The box doesn’t have a ceiling my guy, it’s literally the 3 glass walls infront which don’t inhibit one’s perception of the wider room around them because it’s all glass and around 6ftx5ft minimum. (The glass room is acting more like a sound barrier which looks to be located in a quiet library or office so noise is already minimal it might be slightly quieter inside the room.) You’re assessment is correct when discussing walls that have limited light/windows which can result in depression like symptoms (SAD/etc) or limited visual depth perception due to the size of the room being so small and the average distance a person can view being a little less then 12 miles. The lack of depth perception causes humans to glance around the room at their surroundings and focus on nothing while also being a pattern that makes the brain bored. (Cement blocks don’t have a lot of unique patterns unless the person is exceedingly detail oriented) it will not be visually interesting and lead to feeling both trapped due to the brain measuring the room and lead to anxiety as the brain tries to create either a pattern or gets frustrated due to being under stimulated.
I think dedication is working 8 hours a day and then taking care of home responsibilities and then locking yourself in your room and writing for 3 hours a night. This lady and her box scream privilege.
I have a booktube channel, and this is quite surprising to me. This is like the highest level of focus one can have other than other people staring at you Kudos to the author I would definitely like to read what she is writing 😃
I had the most creative thoughts and imagination when I was in a jail cell awaiting trial. No smartphone, no social media, and no distractions.. I'm sure she will go on to write a great book!
I love the concept. Sometimes you just need to take some drastic measures to get things done without any distractions. BUT, I wouldn't like to be the fish in the bowl.
Why is this news? People who don't have social media induced ADHD from their lack of discipline to focus on improving their lives would be impressed by this rather than doing what they need to do.
As an aspiring writer myself, I'd hate people watching me write a book because I'd get nervous. But, hey, good luck for her.
She has a futon and sheets behind a curtain. She will probably sleep. When I was there last week she was on a break though so I did not see her but friends did
some people write music, some people perform it. All about preference
I wonder if it’s one way glass, to not be distracted
@@livingmorbid I’m pretty sure it is not one way glass
@@indy5280 aw i think that would be the perfect touch. Truly no distractions, focusing on the art.
As an novelist myself, I love it. I could use a glass box lol
Me too, although I wouldn't lock myself in it because I'm claustrophobic
@@silverchan9999 fa XF
I would needed a glass box with a bathroom and a small kitchen area 😂
Your English is bad though
Huh makes me want to read the book she's working on once she's completed with it, a lot of dedication to put yourself in a challenge there.
hey
@@EnergeticSpark63 bye
That's the point.
@@mmarco8787 very true
It's nice that she can get funding for her book at the same time by being a display piece for the museum.
She basically gonna be the night guard and the day guard 😂
Everyone gangster until the animatronics get quirky
Is she actually living in there for the whole month? What about bathroom and showers ?
@@Imokayluv there's a room behind the box for everything else she needs
I didn't hear nothing about a bathroom or shower 😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Thank you! That’s what I’m wondering about!
They hose her down in the back in the p.m. y’all 🤣
That’s what I came here for. Come on, Inside Edition, do some hard-hitting journalism
There is a bathroom there and a shower iirc
@@indy5280 so where's that because they said she can't leave that classroom so don't say is outside 😂😂😂
Well done ‘YOU!’
Joe Goldberg would be so proud! 😂
Hahaha, good one
I was thinking the same thing!
I was watching this at first thinking, what a weirdo! Then after watching this, this is genius, it’s giving her free publicity for an upcoming book!

I understand what she's doing. Every author's biggest fear is having their work plagiarized.
RR Martin should do this and finish his next two Damn books 📚
Every writer does this at some point, you have to respect that. Forcefully take away all distractions and write. However I'm not comfortable using such a small screen and would only use a big screen and tablet lol
Amazingly committed. I love it!
Can we do this with George RR Martin please? We need the last two books of A Song of Ice & Fire series! We've been waiting for over 12 years!
That's the first thing I thought of. That dude is so distracted and so late. He needs this.
This is awesome idea for writers not to distraction myself and focus only my writing.
"I'll write this novel fueled by only beans and coffee"
If you have to force it, I don’t wanna read it 🤷🏽♀️
Love that she’s using Scrivener!!! One of us, one of us!!
They mentioned there's a eating and sleeping area but they didn't say anything about a bathroom or shower.... I have many questions 😐
she stole this from an episode of the twilight zone. where this guy put himself in a glass box so he wouldn’t talk for a whole year lol
He also had his voice chords severed to ensure he won, but never got paid.
“All work and no play makes Saskia a dull girl.”
IT'S THE GLASS BOX!!!!!!!!!!!
Literally any introvert's dream 🤫👏🏻😏
No it wouldn't
Not quite as she's in a museum on display for people to walk by and watch her as well. Too exposed for an introvert like me. 😨
I actually don't want people gawking at me doing my hobbies.
its 'literally' not.
Nah, it's the opposite..she lock herself up in public space basically,.so people could watch her like some weird attraction..even i have nerve of steel, i would still felt annoyed tbh.. 😅
New book title, "How to Escape a Locked Glass Box"
or just "i was locked in a glass box" the horror novel
Hot box it!
Even if the book doesn't get finished, great idea for free rent 👏👏👏

I always found that if I was around people I made more art unless it was another artist. Then we would talk too much.
Talk about dedication!
I think dedication is working 8 hours a day and then taking care of home responsibilities and then locking yourself in your room and writing for 3 hours a night. This lady and her box scream privilege.
So she’s basically sitting at a desk from 9-5 like half of America? Then she’s free to go home
Looks like she can use the internet too, just not post on social media. Literally the same as my office job
I have a booktube channel, and this is quite surprising to me.

Kudos to the author
I would definitely like to read what she is writing 😃
How stunning and brave of her not to use social media
My goodness!
lmfao.
It’s the last of her kind unfortunately
@@Rocket_Man. im not on them either (apart from UA-cam of course!)

Naah, i couldn't even concentrate if they display me like some sort of exhibition like that.. 🤣🤣
My favorite Author Charles Dickens was known to do this
Wish I could do this. But it's not an option for most of us. This is definitely not a challenge - for a writer this is a privilege

I didn't hear toilet
Honestly, if it's getting the work done, it's getting the work done!!🙌
So I'm guessing she doesn't use the restroom
This would be sad if the book sucks.
She is a lefty like me I have faith in her
Well you know every author needs their personal space to work on a book
now that is what is called being determined. good luck to her on writing her novel.
I need one for college. This semester already started and I am already over it.
And I thought the scene from Unfinished Business where dude stays in a hotel that’s also an art exhibit was too absurd to ever be real.
she gets it 💯
Respect 🙏
My adhd could NEVER
honestly, this looks comfy.
She's so brave
This is the tamest performance art piece I've seen so far
I'm an aspiring Murder Mystery author and I definitely see what she's going for, it's hard to keep motivated and keep focused
I'M IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!
And she probably uses the corner for a littlerbox
How much is rent
As a writer myself, this is brilliant
I would so want to do this
You don't need all that.
A lot of folks should pry themselves away from social media for a while - you'd be amazed how much better your life would actually become.
I was there last week thursday. She has a little bed and an installed bathroom iirc
Wouldn't this make her more likely to force a book out, even if it's sub par? Sort of like quantity over quality?
They should protest around her. That would be hilarious
As someone writing a novel, I want this.
is it good?

Never heard of her. And her books don't have the best ratings on goodreads. So this seems more of a publicity stunt.
Humble but scary.

Now if only we had one big enough for GRRM
I want to lock myself in a glass box when I am studying.
Awesome !
Does she not use the bathroom too? 😂
Should've saved everyone the trouble and eschewed the glass altogether in favor of wood.
I'm always amazed at the focus some people have.
She's not trapped. She goes home everyday. The museum isn't letting her live rent free in their mind...and facility.
As a grad student... someone needs to do this to me
Fantastic. Best wishes 🙏🌹❤.

Did they forget the bathroom? 😂
I won't be surprised if there were 'no photos' and 'no videos' signs.
Does she have a bathroom as well?
Her goal was to do something so stupid, that some news outlet gives her attention. Mission success !!!!!!
Wow, that's cool. She can focus well.
Harlan Ellison did this already and it was cooler than this.
Saw this in Red Dead Redemption 2.....didnt end well
Dream work environment. Less distraction, more work done
How does she poop
Well the stunt worked - now I wanna the book when it comes out
This museum is so lifelike lol
