a good change of pace and repairing common items(snow belt). I pretty much repair and work on most anything, while avoiding the things I hate doing the most, but even then I will at times of need, like shoveling snow, which I did many tons of this year, driveways, sidewalks, roofs and yards because of covered furnace/dryer/fan vents and I needed parking space and path to do major remodeling/repair contracting work. I lost 2 belt notches in a month of hard laboring, but body weight stayed nearly the same (fat to muscle conversion)

Nice of you to help out a customer, many wouldn't! Now the words out you'll have snow blower repair on the side too! These days I teach everyone with engine power equipment to check their oil before they use it as part of the startup.. 1. check oil, 2. check gas and finally check nothing is stuck in the moving parts... you wouldn't believe how much hassle it has saved me.. especially on machines with low oil cut-out. BTW: Those Toro 212cc engines can take 20oz of oil after being drained (toro oil usually comes in 20oz bottles), compared to something like the B&S I thought the owners manual was a bit weird on filling procedure.. but I included it below anyway for you or anyone that is interested. ------- 4. If the oil level is low, keep the machine in the operating position and carefully pour oil into the crankcase until the point of overflow. Wait 3 minutes for the oil to settle and add enough to bring it to the point of overflow. (Max. fill: 20 oz. (0.6 l), type: automotive detergent oil with an API service classification of SJ,SL or higher.) Note; You may tip the machine forward (handle up) to make adding oil easier. Remember to return the machine to operating position before checking the oil level. Important: Do not tip the machine all the way forward onto its nose, or fuel may leak out of the machine. -------

Why is the pulley plastic? That has to be in the top 10 stupid engineering choices I've seen in 2022.
@@phprofYT Better living through chemistry.
@@bassboat1 - LOL!!
@@phprofYT - I'd imagine cost. The main problem is that the metal key way in the middle of the pulley starts to give way, widen, and then it slips on the shaft. You'll have to replace both the entire shaft, and the pulley. PITA, but not impossible.
@@phprofYT Take your pick - planned obsolescence or much cheaper, hoping the customer won't notice the first season. It's a shame really where the bean counters will cheap out on items.
Should say outside your company we do automotive and snow blowers LOL don't find too many people while their way to help other people with their problems good job thanks for Gary
I'm commenting because it helps the algorithm send this to more potential viewers.
Eric O, shots fired! Lol!!!
Better go easy on the Rainman. He’s a light weight. Lol!
Working on cars with no rust and when a vehicle from the North does show up in his bay, he has a meltdown. Lol!!!
I enjoy watching these two guys but I’d rate Eric as number one!
Hi Eric. That heavy duty diesel experience in your past is now paying off! Always great videos, but especially so when Mrs. O. puts in a welcome appearance.
Finally, something that doesn't require a scan tool! That was fun. Thanks for Sharing!
Oh boy now you started something. Come spring the parking lot will be full with garden tillers and lawn mowers. 🤣🤣
Have to fix my snowblower this morning and using this video.
I only just came across this channel while I'm in isolation at home with Covid (very mild dose fortunately). Great channel, been rolling back through lots of previous videos and have subscribed.
replaced all the cables and belts, plug, oilchange, ultrasonic cleaned the carb. on my 2 stage Craftsman blower last year. runs like new now. also put a new impeller upgrade kit on it as the old one had worn down. will throw snow to the next house if I let it. love your videos along with gravity man and rusty wes.
Mustie1 would have welded a tip on the old cable or had one in the "Stash" LOL Great job Mr O and you didn't need the autel to do it
I always like it when Mustie1 puts out a new vid :)
As someone who cut their teeth on Toro Products repair in Buffalo, NY I can say that you are a snowblower mechanic!!!! Great job working on that lady's blower!!
Your wife must be a saint? Your sense of humor keeps the shop arolln'
Great video! No oil, but the machine was clean. Didn't Mrs. O get the heavy end of that lift. I love you and Rainman Ray commenting to each other now and then.
Grandma can't be all bad if she has a Mustang! I'm sure she's baking a small town neighborhood pie and add that to a Mrs. O lunch.
Love how you do jobs like this for people. You're a good guy Mr O
Nice job Eric! I wouldn't Rainman Ray has ever even seen a snow blower. Lol
I like those little Toro's, I have 3. I had 1 at each property before I retired. I just about panicked when I saw you draining oil but then I saw OHV. Mine are all 2-cycle.
Loved the shout-out to Ray....I'm sub'd to his channel also. He's just on the other side of Tampa Bay from me. But if your phone rings and you start going "Doo-Dee-Doo" like he does, then you'll know it's time to move to Florida!
Now that's a full service facility you've got there Eric. From Corvettes to Diesel bucket trucks, From electric scooters to snowblowers. From floor jack bent door hinge rescues to the sad job of breaking out the judge and passing on the bad news gently.
Way to take care of your customers.
The one that will always stand out to me is when he was using a puller and the assembly flew off and sheared right through his air hose.
@@alaskanwolf7262 Yeah, that was good, I laughed my butt off, but I guess some people chastised him for being unsafe. Heck, that's nothing compared to my blooper reel...
Eric and his family are just good people living the American dream the best they can. You have to respect that, and I tend to cut them a little slack. It takes a brave family to live it on video.
@@scottmarshall6766 Yup.....Both him and Mrs O are wonderful people that you could easily call friends 😀
Out here is "Lake Effect" West Michigan single stage snow blowers are considered toys and 2 stage is the norm. BTW I stopped repairing my own cars years ago by comparison my lawn tractor, lawn mower, snow blower and generators are a joy to work on compared to today's cars.
What a guy! No really you did a nice thing for grandma
That thing looks remarkably clean and rust-free!
If you look more closely, there is spots of rust on the belt cover, but yes, looks newish still.
@@johnhpalmer6098 Oh, of course there's an overly pedantic comment in response to my own good natured response to the notmal expectation of everything he works on just being rusted to hell. Why are people like you compelled to always say something like, "Wellll, actualllly there's a tiny bit of rust in a snall area, so you are so wrong!"
Hello Mrs O ! Always a pleasure to see you !
a good change of pace and repairing common items(snow belt).
Love it. If it ever snows in Phoenix, I'll know how to fix my snow blower. Love every vidja sir!
4:13 Nothing like a classic reach-around, Eric.
Down here in FL we use those contraptions to pick up leaves and throw them into the neighbors yard 🤪
When he started the motor I expected it to say "ahhhhh" as that fresh oil moved about the internal bits. Pretty amazing it was still running after abuse like that.
Worked on loads of these back when I worked in the shop. Always good to see when someone else confirms the way you did stuff was correct 😅
Eric you are so nice! You come to the rescue when a customer needs your help. You are so funny and I love your whole family. I enjoy all of your adventures and you and your sense of humor is awesome with your whole family. :-)
-------
4. If the oil level is low, keep the machine in the operating position and carefully pour oil into the crankcase until the point of overflow. Wait 3 minutes for the oil to settle and add enough to bring it to the point of overflow. (Max. fill: 20 oz. (0.6 l), type: automotive detergent oil with an API service classification of SJ,SL or higher.)
Note; You may tip the machine forward (handle up) to make adding oil easier. Remember to return the machine to operating position before checking the oil level.
Important: Do not tip the machine all the way forward onto its nose, or fuel may leak out of the machine.
-------
The way I decided on a place to retire. I strapped a snow shovel on the roof of my Suburban and drove south till someone asked " What is that? " Then drove another 100 miles south...:) Turns out I went 50 miles farther South than Rainman.
Mrs. O is such a sweet lady. I appreciate how you're not afraid to show your viewers you care about her.. My husband is like that. We love your videos, yes even me.. 😊 I am incredibly impressed with your work ethics and can see you go above and beyond what is expected.. May God bless you and your sweet family... ❤❤
You are a good man to take care of your community!
I think taryl would approve of this fix Eric.
I bought a snowblower here in Tennessee this year. Worked perfect, we didn’t have a drop of snow. It’s a Toro battery elected.
Great video. No expensive scan tool needed!!
Good job, cleanest used snow blower i have ever seen.
Rainman Ray will get a kick out of that!!👍😎
Man Eric you got all the fancy gadgets, I didn't even know they made an electric ratcheting "torque" wrench. Which is all I need, yet another tool I have to explain to the money handler why I needed it once she finds out lol.
Great to see you keep in good with the locals.......I'm sure you're well appreciated. I do the same when I'm needed......never say no, and charge little or nothing (mostly)......Gives me that happy fuzzy feeling lol
I do the same around my neighborhood. Feel good to help out when able!
Man, you are the Jack of all trades! And entertaining too!
You just never know what kind of video we're gonna get from the The great Eric keep the videos coming stay warm keep the torches warm
Eric that's the first thing I've seen you
work on in a while that wasn't rusted
out!! LOL!!! Great Job!!!!!!
Oh right, they need service more than once in three years! Just kidding, I have two and at least changed the oil. I had not been curious about how they work, but had it in mind to check them properly when the snow stops. This is a good reminder.
