I too tend to make Warcraft references when playing certain games. The seemingly random "Oh kay..." in a nescient sounding drawl when clicking a command. Always enjoyed the horde's lines the most though, especially the Troll's patois "who joo'want me kill?"
i just joined this video... but i have to say that i love the way it looks. its got such a retro vibe... I love watching your game previews. I will have to check out your streams. I wish they were longer every time. You have an entertaining narration. I do not do twitch stuff much, i dont have a lot of time for that sort of thing, but I am seriously considering tryhing to make time to attend a stream.

For anyone wary of buying a Paradox game, as I am, this is published by Paradox Arc which seems to be a less DLC-happy branch of Paradox. Most of their games don't have any DLC at all and the one that does, Across the Obelisk, only has two. I thought it was a totally different company but they make a game called Stellaris Nexus, which is obviously based on Stellaris.
I feel better about getting this game, now, and even though I said all this replying to another comment, I thought it might make a difference for others as well, because I was probably going to miss out on this cool looking game because I'm not into buying a dozen DLC's for one game.
Across the Obelisk has some of the most overpriced DLC I've ever seen on a game. Just a terrible return on investment. Plus, for a cyclical game (it's basically a roguelike), the DLC is a very limited side path or two which doesn't dovetail into the rest of the game experience at all. So instead of adding more variety to the repeated runs, it's more of a once-and-done thing.
@@blackhammer5035 Yeah, it looks like it; $20 and $10 for a $20 game. It looks like there's 4 DLC's, too. I didn't look too much into it, I went to the Developer Homepage on Steam and I thought I only saw two there. Hopefully this game won't go that way, but yeah, I didn't notice how expensive they were either. But I'm still going to keep an eye out rather than pass us altogether like I would a normal Paradox game.

There is a text combat log, lol. You were indeed taking ticks of 1 psychic damage because of the...idk. Scarabs? Buggos? This game looks pretty sweet. I'm a little surprised we haven't seen more of this formula before, it works really well.

A lot of the items I've seen in this game look like they're literally copy pasted from another rpg game called Stoneshard that Splattercat also played

I'm glad you mentioned that because I missed it. It's a shame because I really think I might've liked this. Maybe I'll check it out in a year to see how many DLC's there are. Paradox ruins so many good games with tons of DLC, they are so scummy IMO.

Watching you leave an area with unlooted bodies and gold on the ground is strangly annoying. I found myself yelling at you to check the body and pick up the gold, knowing dam well that it's a recording. It made me feel stupid, lolz.
