Join us for today's episode as I lay out the entire deal of us selling our 2019 Polaris Ranger Northstar camo UTV and the private purchase of a used/new to us 2022 Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate. We drove all the way to Pennsylvania to pick up the new/used 2022 Polaris Ranger Northstar Ultimate! How much did it cost us out of pocket? Why did I want to upgrade now? How much did inflation skew this upgrade? And of course a lot more detail. Thanks man, you ain't kidding! Brand new SUV only had ONE oil change so far! Now the fallout of insurance, medical stuff and more.. But I'm glad that SUV did it's job because she got creamed from behind and then smashed the car in front of her to boot!

yeah they usually just come with one or the other, but I had them get a wireless winch and then add the hard line for a rocker. And I have needed them both for different situations! Thanks

The way i see it, it's your money! I have never been inside a Polaris but in a Kubota and I know you are tall like me, how's the legroom? I had a golf cart once but I sold it because of the legroom and replaced the batteries was costly in Florida. I looked at a side by side at tractor supply and couldn't get in it and wouldn't want to try to drive it either.
Its as good as any for a taller guy. I'm used to being cramped, but the Polaris seems a bit more roomy on the knees for me. Plus you can't beat the quality and smooth ride on the Polaris.. Thanks

Thanks for putting all the numbers together. I'm wanting to upgrade from my 2018 Can Am Mav Trail 1000 to a General or similar. My biggest beef with the Trail is the loud engine noise inside the cockpit. When I can't hear what my passenger is saying something needs to change. Wondering how noisy is it inside the General?
BTW- don't wait for the "scheduled" day of retirement to start... We did the same after decades of saving and planning, on the month my wife was due to retire she had a stroke. Which is why we went from individual 4-wheelers to a side by side, st least she can still get out and are able to camp in the high country and dessert.
Sorry to hear that on the stroke for sure, best wishes. We try to live each day and weekend kind of like we were dyin! LIfe can be cruel and short so you have to live it up as much as possible. Well, not too sure I could follow all those figures you threw out there, but with financing, taxes, maintenance, parts, and depreciation (wear and tear), I think the 10% return may get eaten up and then some. But hey, enjoy them and find ways to put them to use/work to earn their keep.
I keep reminding myself that money is only dirty green paper.. What you do every day in life carries more weight than the money that provided it.. (says Kapper..)

In your opening highlights, you are going through several mud holes. How well does that cab system keep out mud and water? With the cab system, how hard is it to clean out the interior?
It is not totally waterproof for sure, but if you go through a deep water hole quickly you might get an inch or 2 of water inside. It is easy to clean out, if you have a garden hose. Just park the unit on a slight tilt and spray out each half, no problem. Thanks

Hi, I'm in the UK, and have had 2 xp 1000's one on a 19 and my current is a 20, both have had the exhaust silencer down the side whereas yours are behind, down the side makes it difficult to check the oil level if you have a load in the back as you need to tip the bed. Is ,like yours, an American spec or can you have either? Thanks.
I'm sure there are certain regulations in both places. I'm not sure that they could sell them in the US/Canada from the UK, so can't help much on that one.

My 2022 ultimate a/c moves a lot of air but not very cold. This is my first ranger so I didn't know what to expect. Was yours just low on freon or was there a real problem?
Yes there was a problem with the 2022 ultimate models in that they did not come fully charged from Polaris with Freon so the dealers were supposed to check them and fully charge them but many dealers failed to do so. So most of the issues including ours, was simply that the dealer did not fully pressurize the freon. Most likely that is your issue. Best of luck thanks

If I recall correctly the one we sold was a 2019, hence 3 years of good use.

sorry...a deposit means you are making a promise...you back out, you lose the deposit....that's what its for....his time and trouble holding it for you. I wouldn't have been as kind. If he backs out, you get the deposit back.
