Go with some deeper cuts, Alex! Everybody and their mother has reacted to "Peace Sells" and "Holy Wars"... You should seriously consider reacting to tunes like "Head Crusher", "FFF" or even "The Conjuring"
On a serious note, I have seen both Metallica and Megadeath in concert. Metallica Thanksgiving 1991 in KC and it blew my mind. I saw Megadeath in Wichita, KS around the same time on the Countdown to Extinction tour at a smaller venue. Both shows were equaly impressive. The Megadeath show they played Sweating Bullets. Dave Mustane started the first line of the song and the crowd took over and sang the rest of it, and he let them. At the end of the song he was genuinely honored and thanked the crowd. He was damn near in tears that some obscure city in Kansas knew his song so well they could sign it back to him. I will never forget it. Side note: The opening band was STP when they had 1 song on the radio called Sex Type Thing. I remember going to the show thinking "Who the hell are they??" and being blown away at their performance and thinking they are going places!!!!
Listen to "A Tout le Monde." They have out two versions one from the album "Youthanasia" and the other is from the album "United Abominations" which features Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil. Both are great, the original version from "Youthanasia" is more melancholy. The remake with Cristina is more rocking and Dave sound awesome.
80's/90's metal had a lot of social and political themes. People don't really catch that unless they pay attention to the lyrics. Nice that you talk about that.
Alex, you're spot on about the bass in metal. You should absolutely listen to "Souls of Black" by Testament. Amazing song and the bass line sets the entire tone.
He has listened to that song I believe but that is the only testament song so far that he has done. I’ve commented for a long time for testament I want him to revisit them for sure!
a lot of us old metal heads grew up around NWA and such, but lived the 80s n 909s. MTV brought variety. i am very fortunate that i survived and learned all thru these decades of metal.
Dave Mustaine might not have a strong voice when it comes to singing but he makes up for it in his guitar playing. He is a much much better guitarist than Kirk Hammett.
In My Darkest Hour or Wake Up Dead - those are my favorite Megadeth songs. After that, anything from Rust in Peace. Or really anything... Unlike Metallica - Dave has never strayed far from the original formula and it just works. I like the "different" Metallica albums (not counting Lulu), and I think their first 3 are definitely better overall than anything Megadeth has put out. But as far as consistency across their entire career - it's hard to beat Megadeth.
I had the same problem with Dave Mustaine's voice when a started listening to Megadeth. I didn't like it and also thought that James Hetfield is a lot better. As time went by I still continued to listen to Megadeth because the guitars and rest of the band were very impressive. The first album I owned was Rust in Piece and it was amazing, but after I listened to Cryptic Writings I just couldn't get enough of Dave's voice, it just gets better and better every time I hear him perform. I think you just have to get used to it over time and once you do you will definitely change your mind about his vocals. By the way I am a huge Metallica fan and I like them both equally.
What is the NEXT Megadeth song I NEED to hear?! Drop some comments!!

Go with some deeper cuts, Alex! Everybody and their mother has reacted to "Peace Sells" and "Holy Wars"... You should seriously consider reacting to tunes like "Head Crusher", "FFF" or even "The Conjuring"
The conjuring is underrated. The first couple times I heard it I didn’t even like it. Now it’s one of my favorites
"Peace Sells" music has more bass than the entire "...And Justice For All" album
80's/90's metal had a lot of social and political themes. People don't really catch that unless they pay attention to the lyrics. Nice that you talk about that.
Next one should be...Wake up dead...from the same phenomenal album...
Alex, you're spot on about the bass in metal.
You should absolutely listen to "Souls of Black" by Testament. Amazing song and the bass line sets the entire tone.
Best testament album in my opinion is pratice what you preach.
He has listened to that song I believe but that is the only testament song so far that he has done. I’ve commented for a long time for testament I want him to revisit them for sure!
@@AviationMechanic3232 you're correct, he did. ABC's of Metal. Sadly he hasn't listened to any other Testament...
This is true, but let’s stay on topic here. MEGADETH!!!!!!!!!!
a lot of us old metal heads grew up around NWA and such, but lived the 80s n 909s. MTV brought variety. i am very fortunate that i survived and learned all thru these decades of metal.
You should react to Conquer or die, incredible instrumental from their last album Dystopia (I'm metallica fan btw)
SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION- MEGADETH
You haven't done Holy Wars? One of their Most Guitar Heavy songs they have. And catchy as Hell.
he has, he has a video where he reacts to the whole rust in peace album
I’m pretty sure Alex has already reacted to the whole Rust in Peace album
I thought so. I didn't feel like digging to find out. Thank you
I myself refuse to choose between Megadeth and Metallica. I love both of them.
You want to hear the importance of bass in metal then take an Iron Maiden journey. Steve Harris baby! Great vid bro. Keep rollin!
That opening bass line will never not give me the chills. Such a great song.
Dude you need to listen to the ENDGAME album it is AWESOME!!
Headcrusher especially
Megadeth Good Mourning/Black Friday
If you wanna hear a song with an amazing bass line you could listen "The pot" by Tool. I'm sure you'll love it
Megadeth is on tour RIGHT NOW YOU CANT MISS EM!! Metal tour of the year!
hey man, you should React to "She Wolf - Megadeth (live Rude Awakening) "... one of their most great live perfomance ever.
In my darkest hour!
Dave Mustaine might not have a strong voice when it comes to singing but he makes up for it in his guitar playing. He is a much much better guitarist than Kirk Hammett.
That’s a bold statement. But, it is true
And he wasn't afraid to hire guitarists that shredded faster than him! All for the music!
He may be better at technicality than kirk, but kirk takes the lead in producing more emotional solos in my opinion
@@dirtyburd71 100%, he even said Marty would walk circles on him. Dave could do both though, rhythm and lead.
SlAnd Marty Friedman is better than both of them.
You’ve said exactly what makes megadeth and Metallica so different it’s Dave’s voice versus Papa Het voice
Listen to some Dream Theater and Opeth. They are fuckin sick🤘
They suck
Heavy metal and the musicians that rip it out have substance. It is talent driven, and thats why it never dies, and never goes out of style.
LOL; let’s not forget “Risk”
My favorite MEGADETH album start to finish a masterpiece
Weird. I could have sworn this reaction was already done lol
Mustaine>Hammett guitar skills
It's an unnecessary comparison, and absolutely incorrect.
Guitar skills no, kirks phrasing is better. Composing skills definitely
Wrong. DAVE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>kirk
Megadeth - Beginning of sorrow
Just saw them live tonight actually! This song live was amazing!
