Yes, it works. I used just the castor oil alone at night. There was a a brown spot which seemed to be growing larger on my temple...it's gone now.

castor oil is amazing,.. it has reduced an eye stye on my eyelid with regular application,.. also putting it on new spots when they first appear seems to be more effective,.. i put some on a new brown spot and in 2 days it's already fading it

You can buy it in any health food store.
Lugols iodine works too. Got rid of a few dark spots with it. Takes a few week though.

Castor Oil? I saw the ingrdientes and translating is Ricino Oil, is it the same? because here in Mexico there are both: Castor Oil and Ricino Oil. Sorry for my English.

Doug Willen -- I am covered in brown spots that are resistant to Retin-A and laser treatments. My top dermatologist said, "well, if they're deep enough in the dermis .." I thought "she couldn't tell me this $2000 ago?!" Will give this a try but I am not holding my breath. My skin seems to like giving "recipes" the middle finger!

I'm only on day 3 of trying to lighten a lg age spot on my hand. It mau be wishful thinking but it actually seems to be fading a bit.
Did you know your PCP can freeze brown spots off your face? Mine does it for free while I'm there for something else. You get a sore, then a scab. DO NOT MESS WITH IT. It will fall off in a week revealing normal colored skin.
Do you use the Organic Castor Oil?
I have one beside my eye. When I apply the castor oil do i just let my skin absorb it or do I need to was hit off after a certain amount of time?
Yes, castor oil is typically safe for the skin. You can test it for one or two days by putting it on the back of your hand or inside your elbow and see if you get a reaction. If not, leave it by your eye and let it absorb in. Then continue applying at least twice per day for a few weeks. Let me know.
