  • Hello everyone and thank you for watching this PlanesWeekly video!
We hope you enjoy this close-up footage of the last SAS Airbus A340, which was granted thanks to a special tour by SAS on the day before its last flight.
A huge thanks to SAS, Copenhagen Airport and Insideflyer for making this video possible!
Yet another sad retirement of one beautiful bird! We've always loved flying and watching the A340 flying in and out of Copenhagen. Yet the novel coronavirus has sent this bird on a premature but well-deserved retirement! The quad-engined Airbus A340 will be replaced by the Airbus A350-900 in the SAS fleet, of which they have already received four deliveries. The last remaining A340 (OY-KBM) of SAS left the fleet Tuesday, December 1st 2020, with an early morning departure to Tucson where the crew went through customs and then continued on a short flight to Marana where the A340 joined more of her siblings.
We'll give you some never before seen videos we have in our archives of the SAS A340 in the coming weeks, both from inside and outside of the plane.
    Safe and happy flying!

I flew on a brand New A340 in 2002 and remembered as so advanced and much bigger then the Boeing 767 it replaced.
And now it’s beeing replaced by the A350

I will always remember the SAS A340s, I almost exclusively worked on them when I was a flight mechanic intern in Kastrup... Sad to see them gone.

What a waste. Shame that there is such an economical aspect to aviation. Wouldnt it be great if the most iconic planes never stop flying (even if just a few times a year for enthousiasts)

What's the point of building the aircraft in the first place ???

This guy here has no brain. It was a good plane but then they became too costly, too much fuel consumption. Basically, plane too much engine, plane gone.

So sad. They’re all scrapped or in pieces at MZJ.
