I have only watched the first minute or so as of yet but I already have the basic understanding of what these things do! Thank you. I'm confused, isn't crossfire a protocol that elrs uses , so it is an open protocol, so its a stack level below the language, ie transmission link. Your explanation at the start confused me a lot.

    I have an ELRS Lite (2.4GHz) Wich has ceramic antenna and a jumper T-Lite with 100mw power and 50Hz frequency. I am reaching maximum 100 METERS before I lost signal. I am using in an open field with some trees, not more than 2 imas obstacles sometimes. Is something wrong? I tried a lot of things, saw a lot of videos about range but I can't get any better! Is this the real maximum for my config? Please help! I saw the conector, the wires, everything is fine! Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks... hard to beat TBS's safety record due in part to its easy to use and update system, but for micro quads in need of less weight AND a smaller antenna with less drag going to ELRS really is amazing. Fun to watch the progress being made... and remember the James Webb telescope launch is set for Dec 18 at 4:20 AM PST now;-) Just wish the RC industry would look at the sub 250g micro glider scale in need of associated electronics with telemetry and RTH GPS failsafe which has the potentual to grow as large as the micro quad market or even larger IMO given the opportunity.
    However we now have to deal with the FAA which brings up obvious politics connected to money and advances the RC hobby has created.

    Do you know what is the maximum range of the Betafpv radio built in ELRS?

    • @OneManUnmanned
      @OneManUnmanned  2 роки тому +2

      It's hard to say because there are so many factors like the environment (Buildings, trees, water) or different choices of antennas in both the radio and the receiver. Having said that, the output on this radio is 100mw, which is usually good for a few km. I've used this radio recently for testing, and I had no problems. Review on it is coming soon.

Thought about getting a Babyhawk, but I have a couple other things I’m looking at. Any good recommendations that aren’t too expensive?

    Good show. Questions 1. That little receiver you show3ed had a ceramic antenna. That seems to be a great way to reduce the size and weight of your radio gear. I'm more intere3sted in fixed wing and PWM is what I would like. Can a ceramic antenna work on a fixed wing receiver if long range distance is not a concern? 2. Do you think that a company will build a unit with ESC, Flight control and FPV power on one board?

    • @OneManUnmanned
      @OneManUnmanned  2 роки тому +1

      The ceramic antenna is compact and light. It can work with fixed wing applications, but you’ll need an ELRS to PWM adapter/converter. There has been demand for ELRS on fixed wing planes, so manufacturers are now making them without the need for an adapter. I’ll link it below. As far as the All In One, they make that as well. I’ll link it below as well.

    This is the most simple awesome explanation available on UA-cam! Thank you!
    I’ve been flying drones for years, and I’m still extremely confused, especially by all of the big UA-camrs the worst being Joshua Bardwell, who says you’re gonna learn some thing, and then talks to you on a very advanced level, never ever explaining what some thing simply is, I have been spending hours trying to research what the hell is Xpress LRS without having to watch a 45 minute video which I did watch And still was unable to understand what the hellExpress E LRS is

    ELRL, has great potential. But, there are some downsides to going with open-source systems. Joshua Bardwell has a video out, explaining those downsides. I believe is actually with that Beata FPV unit you have. One of those downsides, is not having dedicated support for the product from a manufacturer. As suppose to TBS, they will stand behind their products. One problem Joshua found with the Beta fpv, is that it has a joystick button, that is not an actual joystick, but a button. . Another problem, is the unit goes into failsafe, when you try to change the output power for a quad you may have with ELRS already built into the flight controller. Anyway, Joshua Bardwell can explain it better than me.

    • @OneManUnmanned
      @OneManUnmanned  2 роки тому +1

      Very good points.. I'm familiar with JB's video, and have noticed the same once ELRS came to FPV. It's really one of the downsides to an open source system. Having said that, it does make for an exciting experience watching all these manufacturers scramble to make new and supporting equipment. I was/am an early adopter, and paid the price with this new product. The biggest thing to take away is, do your research before buying a product, since there is no "standard" with an open source project. With all that said, what we're witnessing is a direct result of competition, and the products WILL get better with time.

    • @lexsteel12

    • @OneManUnmanned
      @OneManUnmanned  5 місяців тому

      Thanks for your feedback…I think the open source nature of it, speeds up the devopement process. It also open the User to multiple manufacturers instead of one. If TBS runs out of products, the consumer is screwed. If RM, HM, BetaFPV, Jumper, I-flight, and GepRC all runs out of inventory at the same time, there will still be another manufacture making the same compatible hardware.
