    I've been using it for a year and have notice a big difference especially with unnecessary worrying. My biggest side effects are very vivid, wierd and sometimes scary dreams.

      @A.D.H.D AND ME I’m sorry to hear that you feel I am ignoring you by not subscribing back to your channel. However, I do not play the “sub4sub” game. While metrics such as subscriber and view counts are nice to see increase and help with getting this content in front of more people, the primary reason I make these videos is to help people who have questions about mental health.
      With that being said, I would have been more than happy to have checked out your channel if you would have asked! I’m always open to seeing what supporters in my community are creating.

      Thanks for the video, how does one approach coming off 25mg sertraline? Only available in 50mg tablets in Australia so I split in half, should I quarter tablet and stay there for a bit before coming off completely? Many thanks

    I’ve been using zoloft for 6 months and it made me feel good.. not beacuse I have depression, even know completing test at my psychiatrist it showed i have medium depression, i think I really just have a bad anxiety from what im exhausted.. so in 2019 i stoped using zoloft and now im back on it.. probably beacuse of the autumn season, pandemic and few financial problems.. im on day 3 starting with 25mg a day (im a 22 y/o male) and my doctor told me that i should increase the dosage reaching day 5 (50mg) im feeling side effects and they are impacting my day, so my psychiatrist told me to take it before bed time.. will see how it goes.

    I've been on Zoloft for over 20 years, not continuously as if I was in control of my anxieties/depression I would come off of it. I have a new Dr. now as my old Dr retired (i miss him, he was so nice). and she told me to stop taking them. I had a nervous breakdown due to work conditions in 2005 and have been on them since. The result from the nervous breakdown was that I do not handle stress very well. I did go off them when she told me with no problem, but I have had two stressful events and I am now back on them. I am 70 years old, and I feel that I need them to keep me sane, especially with the way the world is now! What are your opinion on me remaining on them. I feel that my quality of life is better with them as my husband has just had a diagnosis of cancer which brought on a sever anxiety attack. I also lost my dog of 13 years, and he was like a support dog to me, as he brought comfort to me when I was feeling low. We have a shortage of Drs here and it has taken me quite a few years to find one, so I don't want to lose this Dr but I feel that at my age I would like some quality of life and not having to deal with stress on a daily basis. I also take a low dosage of Oxazepam as I don't sleep more than 3 hrs if not taking one.

    What's the best way to wean off 25mg Sertraline? Have taken for 18 months but have been recommended to switch to Agomelatine, harder than I expected.

    When you stop taking sertraline, does your libido always return? 😥

      Good question. The answer is usually yes. However there is a caveat to that. I have a mini series on SSRI medications and sexual dysfunction. I hope this helps.

    Dr. Wood, could you address akathisia with these drugs. This can be distressing for some and I encountered it with Prozac at 40 to 80mg when I took it for 6 months to a year. It did decrease but was very uncomfortable when it started. It was an inner restlessness and caused me to clench my toes and my legs felt like they had to always be moving...an inner restlessness.

    Im 26 days into 50mg and was feeling better but felt very anxious last two days and had to use beta blocker is this normal to get worse again?

    • @dralywood
      @dralywood  2 роки тому +1

      Great question, Rebecca! It's always great to hear when my patients tell me that they have had an initial response to a low dose of a medication. This usually means that the medication is likely going to to be effective in controlling symptoms.
      When symptoms start to show up again after a period of stability, this is usually an indication that a higher dose is needed. Oftentimes, a little bump in the dose can be helpful. I'd suggest speaking with your treatment provider on whether or not this would be appropriate for you!

      Iv been 20mg of escitalopram for about a mounth and i felt nothing no side effects and no positive effects i didnt have the tablets for a mounth after that i didn't slowly get of it and again i felt nothing no bad side effects coming of it suddenly no brain zapps ect. Then now im on sertraline 100 mg i had no side effects and also no proper positive effects of taking it for 4 mounths its almost like im just swallowing the air instead of a pill. When i first started antidepressants and was on escitalopram i was also on stron beta blockers and rivitrol and i felt nothing i also came of it suddenly and felt nothing no negative side effects the only medical tablet that actually helps a bit for my anxiety is strong sleeping tablets or the most effective of all is alcohol. Its almost as if all these medications from doctors are just placebos for people they help i dont get it ?@@dralywood
