My favorite part in all of this is knowing that Ewan McGregor and Pedro Pascal have both experienced that moment of being transported back to being a little kid because of Star Wars. To those of us who have loved Star Wars our whole lives, it's insane how the smallest thing can make us have such a visceral reaction or emotional response. Whether that catalyst is a certain scene or a prop or a character. It's just such an intense feeling to have. I'm probably being dramatic, I know, but it just feels really personal and important. Ya know? I'll forever have a soft spot for Star Wars and I'll always find it so endearing to know that something I love is also personal and important to others as well. I'll stop rambling now😅 In other news, this was a delightful interview from start to finish.
I agree. My senior year of high school my school’s music department went to Disney World. We went to Hollywood Studios, and a friend of mine and I went to the Star Wars meet and greets. Being with Kylo Ren and hearing him speak made me fangirl!!! And I was like, “Oh my gosh!” There’s just something about it. Even though I know it’s not really Adam Driver, in that moment it doesn’t matter. All I saw was Kylo Ren.
Pedro interrupting Ewan when he starts talking a little too much about Kenobi (storm troopers, jawa) is so sweet. Like, he could tell Ewan was really excited about it all, but he gently led the conversation away so that no spoilers would be given
Yes, to be fair I'm thinking about Ben and Jawas and storm troopers now. Like I know we sort of already gathered it was about that but it's becoming more real :D
This comment section is giving me life. Also these two are so sweet together, I love them. And you can tell how excited Pedro is to talk to Ewan🥺 also Ewan’s got his big Jedi mullet back
I love that Pedro had his fan moment in the beginning for this actor he has so much respect for. I love both these actors. They bring so much into their characters. This is very nice to be a fly on the wall to their convo. 😂👍
@@marcellkovacs5452 The point is having it be TANGIBLE. It's something you can see, and to a point, interact with. It makes a huge difference on acting.
Omg I felt Pedro's nervousness with Ewan, he tried so hard not fanboying explicitly around him, but it was noted after all. It was like a kid meeting his idol, hahaha ❤️
That is the behave caused by the daily reminder many Americans gave him for so many years that he is a foreigner and took 2 decades of hard work to be recognised .
Also America didn’t care a whole lot about Scottish cinema and actors for a long time, either. Trainspotting was first celebrated among young hipster indie film fans, and from other stuff Pedro has said he was kind of an art film nut back in the day- which would be why his friends would insist he see that particular film. Ewan was an indie film jobsworth long before Hollywood ever even looked at him. Decades, even.
For the timestamp people: Intro & studio LED technology: 0:34 Trainspotting: 3:00 Halston: 3:43 Mandalorian S3: 14:11 Baby yoda/grogu: 18:55 Back to halston & trainspotting: 25:28 Outro: 30:54
Pedro's mention of Trainspotting just made me love him even more. I hope those who haven't seen it will now get to see why Ewan is one of our best and why the film is one of the best.
*I still remember when I first saw Ewan in episode 1, I’ve been watching Star Wars my entire life. Every 3 years a new movie, we need more of these wholesome interviews.*
You can see in Pedro's eyes the respect and admiration he has for Ewan. Soon Pedro will see that look in the eyes of new actors. All the love to these two.
Did you have to hit me with the Grogu/Mando breakup scene out of nowhere? I was just eating a pizza, enjoying this interview. Now I’m eating a pizza, enjoying this interview and crying.
Yeah, I'm actually glad that he didn't talk about it much. The absolute best thing about Star Wars shows is that you get to watch it with barely any spoilers. That's one the things which made The Mandalorian great. I wish I didn't even know Ahsoka was gonna be in it. I want the Kenobi show to be full of big surprises.
@@amandeepdash9014 Oh yeah. I remember sitting in the theatre waiting for Empire Strikes Back to begin. We had no idea and were blown lightyears away. Leaks and spoilers ruin the magic.
After watching this, I went on to watch ‘Halston’, which was absolutely excellent. And then, I just finished watching the two seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’, which was amazing. Not enough superlatives for that. Interesting to see this conversation, again, after seeing both shows.
The impact this interview has on me is just.. woah. Seeing the one who minted my childhood as Obi-Wan, and seeing a talented actor who gives me my childhood back due to playing the Mandalorian is just amazing. I love Ewan and Pedro with my whole heart, and I really hope they will be in a movie or a series together. When he played Obi in the prequels it was all new to him and felt bewildered but in the newer series, he’s returning to a character that he loves dearly and it’s almost like a breathe of fresh air for him. Making him feel more excited and looking forward to playing him
Pedro seems to be completely starstruck by Ewan, it's so cute!

I love how Ewan goes on about the mandalorian immersing himself in Star wars for the first time in ages completely ignoring the sequels 😂😂
Until I read your comment, I didn't even notice, because I guess I did the same.
He was never on set in the sequels, what did you expect him to say?
Can you blame him
Right but did you keep listening after that? lol
I feel like Pedro pascal is always a fan first which is why he is so likable
Beautiful words from a beautiful woman. Thank you 😊
Totally agree :)
@@chilidrummer8333 Why did you feel the need to make it creepy, dude?
It was.
Pedro interrupting Ewan when he starts talking a little too much about Kenobi (storm troopers, jawa) is so sweet. Like, he could tell Ewan was really excited about it all, but he gently led the conversation away so that no spoilers would be given
I almost feel like there was a cut tbh lol
Yes, to be fair I'm thinking about Ben and Jawas and storm troopers now. Like I know we sort of already gathered it was about that but it's becoming more real :D
When is this in the video?
This comment section is giving me life. Also these two are so sweet together, I love them. And you can tell how excited Pedro is to talk to Ewan🥺 also Ewan’s got his big Jedi mullet back

Sounds like Ewan is very thankful to do Star Wars without all the cgi.
StageCraft _is_ CGI, it's just 15-20 years more advanced than what was available at the time of the prequels.

Pedro Pascal is such a great audience stand-in! His enthusiasm and curiosity are infectious.
Omg I felt Pedro's nervousness with Ewan, he tried so hard not fanboying explicitly around him, but it was noted after all. It was like a kid meeting his idol, hahaha ❤️
The man got to talk to Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's pretty much impossible to not fanboy
That is the behave caused by the daily reminder many Americans gave him for so many years that he is a foreigner and took 2 decades of hard work to be recognised .
He’s an impressive interviewer. It’s like a stealth interview, it’s like this great casual conversation and Ewan just starts spilling his guts.
@@lulybsanto9439 Pues, Pedro no es una persona afectada, y por eso es fácil para otros personas de hablar libremente con él. Es un talento fantástico.

Pedro's mention of Trainspotting just made me love him even more. I hope those who haven't seen it will now get to see why Ewan is one of our best and why the film is one of the best.
Ewan played Halston with such strength and vulnerability. He became him, the voice and the way he carried himself. Give him the Emmy! Give it to him!
