Wooo....hooo! I got a slow paced project of this very kit. It's a no big hurry deal. Mostly scratch/ bash & it's not an exact clone but hey 😆. This vid is gonna be a GR8 help. Many thanx Mark 👍👍
Way to crack the rare cellophane, Mark. That's about 150 - 200 there. Have fun with it. Its part of a series of 5 kits with similar parts. That plastic will probably be a bit brittle. Here is a fun fact. The box art is by Dave Deal. He was commissioned by Bob Paeth who was the designer behind the series. That guy in the back of the cab...That's Dave's rendition of Bob.
Wow!! Thank you very much Scott!! Appreciate the info and history, BIG time. I’ve been an avid builder since 1963. How I missed this one I don’t know. The only one I actually remember was the Moon Mixer. GREAT back story! I wondered at first if the figures came in the kit! LOL Oh wait!! We have 3D printing now! We can make our own Bob for the back! LOL! Many thanks again buddy!!
I built some kits like that when I was a kid, but do not remember that one. I wish I had the ones that I build back in the day there was some cool kits like the one you got. Have fun building it Mark.thanks for sharing.
There's something about that early 70s box art...very very cool find 😎 I got a kit called the Gran Turismo that has that same all chrome Corvair engine, but it's a 1997 reissue.
Cool kit Mark! I hope to see you build it. I’ve got a similar kit from Revell called the T-Bone Stake. It’s got many of the same parts including the Corvair engine.
You and I are the same age and we started building about the same time as you may recall. I don't remember ever seeing that kit and while we might be old (?!) we aren't senile yet🤞🤠A corvair motor? Now ya gotta build it! Best to you and Amanda 🙏
Thank you my brother!! I hear ya man. Don’t remember ever seeing it either. Who knew? LOL I agree, got to build that unique power train! Have an awesome and blessed week my friend!!!
There where a total of 5 kits in this series, all sharing the same wheel base parts, with C Cab style bodies. All done by Dave Deal for Revell. The most common of these kits, and the most commonly available, is the T Bone Stake. This was usually the kit offered in the model builders club mail in program. And as an aside, Dave Deals painted himself into most of the kits box art.
Many thanks brother!! I remember the Moon Mixer in the series but don’t remember ever seeing the Meter Cheater. Cool little rodz!! Thanks again my friend!
I have built so many Revell hot rod and show car kits but I never even heard of this one ! And still shrink wrapped I would restrain from opening it as it could be worth quite a fair buck!
Many thanks brother!! Yeah man, it was a first for me too! I really want to build it but I’m also researching the value too. Ugh! lol Have a great week!!
Thats a cool little kit. And its kind a funny, I have one coming also. Not sealed, but MIB. There was a series with those Renaults show rods. The others are: The Guber Wagon, Moon Mixer, Medicine Man and T Bone Stake. 😁
G'day mate, good score there yeah I had this kit it's a fun little build. There is actually a full set of these which included the Moon Mixer, der Guber Wagen, Patent Pending & the one you have 😁 I love show rods
Thank you very much my friend!! Looks like it will be a fun build! I just saw the others on “Scalemates”. The only one I remember was the moon mixer, but I like them all! lol Thanks again mate!!
@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007 Mark it's a cool part of a group of corvair powered kustoms got a moon mixer, ber guber wagon, Dr crooks and t-bone stake truck all hard to find very fun to build Paul @ styrene relics should his built mixer.
Really cool! The box art, especially the Cabbie and the Cop, remind me of the animation style of The Pink Panther from back in the day. Wonder if there’s any connection? 🤔 Peace and love.
Try again.......This is my area of the hobby. I loved Showrods kits and they were my main builds for many years. I just finished a Meter Cheter kit late 2023. That is a Renault nose on the model.....a 1/32 scale nose!!! If you place the Revel kit nose with the Pyro 1/32 scale kit....exact same size!!! There are FIVE revell kits that use this same engine chassis. Meter was also sold under the AHM label. If there is interest I can make a short vid on my build. Thanks
Thanks Dave!! Yes sir, I built a ton of the old show rods myself over the years! Some cool and unique show cars out there! Really miss the old 60s versions. Thanks for the kit info too! I’d like to see yours and YES, a video would be awesome!! Thanks again buddy!!!

Yeah Mark, I had the "T-Bone Stake" when I was a kid, I'm 58 now. There are 5 in the series, The one I had, your "Meter Cheater", "Dr. Krook's Patent Pending", "Der Guber Wagen" and "The Moon Mixer". I think Advent may have reissued them under different monikers but I'm not very certain of that. As far as I know I believe Dave Deal who designed the Deals Wheels series also designed these.
Thank you very much buddy!! I saw the set yesterday on Scalemates. Very cool!! The only one I recall ever seeing was the Moon Mixer. Have an awesome week!
I had that kit back then, I regret not building it. I have Starbird's Predicta. I will build it. Would like to find a Beatnik Bandit kit, at a reasonable price.
