Holy smokes! That is some model. I had a model of the Missouri back in the early 60s. My father got tired of seeing it and had me get rid of it. So we wired her with cherry bombs, made little fire pots around her deck to simulate battle damage, lit the fuses and gave her a push. Her ending was glorious!!
That piece you're using to align the keel to 90° would be known as a _right triangle ruler_ in junior high school. A protractor is shaped like a semicircle and measures degrees. Upon closer inspection, it looks like you have a 2-in-one unit capable of both functions. A carpenter would simply call it a _square_ (even though it's triangular) because its purpose is to square two pieces together.
Its new to me too. First time I’m doing a ship that doesn’t have sails. Spent an evening cutting planks. Turns out it wasn’t even enough for half the ship. 😅😂😂 it’s HUGE!! 😱
That is not a Sterling kit! I actually have one on a shelf somewhere. You should find some used sealed lead acid batteries, the kind used in UPS systems. They make awesome weights for keeping part aligned and flat. Those holes in the hull are vents for the pumps, waste water, and drains for the upper decking. Their positions coincide with equipment placement in the engine rooms and boiler rooms, there is also a aft generation room and evaporators where you see the group of holes near the stern.
The little plastic device in Dutch we call it a "geodriehoek". I used this in math class voor angel calculitions etc. In Englisch it is called a protractor. I used google translate, so when its wrong blame them. Good luck.
What ambitious project. I'll subscribe to this. I've missed my weekly dose of shipbuilding since Tally Ho was launched. So what's your name and where are you from? Did Occre sponsor this?
@@SanchoPanza-wg5xf cheers mate. Yea this is a colab with Occre. I also have an Instagram asks Facebook, I tend to upload pictures or reels during the week before the video is released. Sort of a sneak peak. 👌😃
@@ech0tang0 I’m hoping I can keep my regular upload with once a week. However, some things may take longer to make than I actually have available, have both a full time job and a full time family. 😃

@@BennyCFDcheers mate. 🫡🫡 I’m using contact cement, once it’s in the deck it’s nice and sticky and you can just put the pieces on. Ca would talk way too long to glue every single piece on.
Under the video in my description, I’ve put a link that takes you directly to the web page, where you can see the price. However I think the price is 750-ish euros. Cheers for watching. 👌😁
Just got it confirmed from the curator of the New Jersey. There are no portholes in any of the Iowa class battleships. And here I’ve already soldered the LED in the hull. 🤪😩😅
@ they at already connected and everything is wired. But I can just cut them out if need be. The insert are also blinded, so I would have to drill a hole in them before the light could be seen.

I’m not going down that road with mine tho. 😅🫡
This will be a great build series. I will follow every step.

Impressive...!! Did not know that this kind of ship could be build in wood. Looking forward to your progression! Good luck!!

Beautiful pictures and nice paper manuals. I wonder why they're just stapled together instead of professionally bound.
@@SanchoPanza-wg5xf to be honest I just want single pieces of paper. I find it much easier to work with. 😃
Im looking forward to watching this build, It certainly looks very long

It’s 135,5 cm long. So yea it’s very big. 😁😍

We use them for math in Denmark too, to calculate angles. 🫡👌

Cut the corner of the bord to fit in side the rib or a Lego block it's that easy

I find uesing clamps and machines 1,2,3 blocks work well for me
Regarding what? 😊
I’m not sure I’m familiar with 1,2,3 blocks, what is that?
Protractor.
“To make it a little bit more stiff” = To make it rigid.
@@unclerojelio6320 cheers mate, I forget words sometimes. 😊
What glue are you using?
I’m using both PVA and CA glue.
CA glue to hold the frame in place while the PVA dries. 😊
Very nice job. Very labor intensive You have a lot of patience........I'm curious why you use white glue. CA is faster, cleaner, and stronger

This is the new USS Missouri in 1/200 scale from Occre.

You're right there are no portholes. But on the picture i Saw, there are some protuberences on the actual hull nearby thé points you showed.
It turns out that there actually is a few. I just don’t know where they are 😅
But most is drains and whatnot.
@TheBurningSail drains have to be to the aft, above the waterline. On a warship, i think they are somewhat hidden.
Just got it confirmed from the curator of the New Jersey. There are no portholes in any of the Iowa class battleships.

@TheBurningSail oh ! Too Bad ! BTW just paint the LED thé same color as hull, and don't connect them. Lesser loss.

Perhaps docking bumpers
would be so much better without the music
Can’t please alll I guess. 😊
