To the people angry at the investigators for implying to chris that maybe shanann did something...this was an investigation TACTIC. Their job was to get this SOB talking...they needed him to admit that the family was dead. The rest could be figured out later. He was already digging his own grave with all the inconsistencies in his story. They already knew he was guilty...it was incredibly smart...they made him see a potential "out" if you will, and played him like a fiddle. Bravo. This guy is the definition of a psychopath.

Kim Clark I said the exact same thing. The detectives used an interrogation tactic to sugarcoat this scenario. This makes it easier for him to acknowledge the family is dead and that he played a part in it. They knew it would be difficult for him to admit that he killed his own children.

We couldn't just throw it away like it was trash so we put in a shoe box and covered it with old clothes before put it in our dumpster. We still feel bad that it ended up at the landfill. Watch the videos of Shannan. She may not have been so wonderful. His mistress clearly was not a wonderful person but his wife appeared to be a controlling spendthrift who had them headed for bankruptcy. A house they couldn't afford and a life they could not afford. He was the only one working and immature to a fault. He was scared to ask her to stop and she was too engrossed in a false image of happy homemaker with all the trappings.

Shannan on the other hand controlled Chris with an iron fist from accounts I have read and looking at some of their online videos. He grins and she speaks down to him ,,,,, and he never clapped back. That is sign of abuse and disrespect. People romanticized who Shannan was but .....they should research a little about her over spending and how they were about to file bankruptcy a second time and about to lose their home. She was not making the money from Level that she claimed. It was all a ruse to make people think they were doing so well. She was LEASING a Lexus that her company paid for as long as he sales were up but she had to pay if not....He was the only one working a steady job. Their life was in shambles. She knew it but she could not face that he lost his love for her. She texted friends that he didn't want to touch her those last weeks.....and she thought he had someone else but that he didn't have any "game" so that probably was not it. women should never believe a man cannot get a partner..... by hook or crook...... sorry for the long reply.

But ..since then his “semi-confession” brought to us by the fbi, has been referenced over and over all over and even with the transcript release I have only heard one presenter mention it in the context of how he got to it. Thankfully, the girls were clearly smothered and he picked strangled - I’m guessing to distance himself from the what he did- it just makes me so sad for shannan and her family that there’s this group out there disrespecting Shannan’s life personality and character along with watts’ damn parents - who I believe are toxic as hell and certainly didn’t help. I wonder if he was teetering on the edge like this- he’s behaving like a trapped animal- when he was blasting Metallica - the battery- or whatever it was called.

Maybe she did confront him that night, but I still believe he waited until she fell asleep before he strangled her. She would have had some sort of defensive wounds on her body. The one thing I wonder is if he did it on the couch because her phone and watch were found in the couch cushions and everything I read about her, she always left her phone and watch charging on the night stand when she went to bed. Also, I read a text to her friend that said she was tired of sleeping on the couch (when she got back from NC).

Better to let her go. Be patient and classy. Dont cheat, dont give her a reason to take you to the cleaners. But just get divorced. Now youre free to live the life you want. Your ex is free to find someone who truly loves her, youre free to find someone, the kids now have a dad whos better with them bc hes not miserable and angry all the time. Dont do a Chriss Watts. Just curious why you’re grouping the “mistress” and his family in the same group with Chris? His family is obviously going to believe him, at first anyway. And he told the woman he was seeing that he was separated and filing for a divorce. It’s not like she knew that he was still living with his wife and that she was pregnant.
*EDIT* After learning more about this case I’m not so sure that NK didn’t know that CW and SW were still together. I now believe she may have very well known the truth about the status of their marriage; but no one but her knows the absolute truth.

Except the mistress (Nichol Kessinger) did know.
On July 24, Kessinger Google-searched the phrase “Man I’m having affair with says he will leave his wife.”
On Aug. 8 Kessinger searched Google on topics relating to “marrying your mistress.”
And on Aug. 4 at 12:45 a.m., “for over two hours Kessinger searched Google for wedding dresses,” according to her web history analyzed by investigators.
      sources: people.com/crime/chris-watts-mistress-nichol-kessinger-photos-searched-wedding-dress/
If you watch the Nichol Kessinger interview with police you will hear Kessinger tell the police that Chris was always saying I love you and that she didn't say it too often.
Kessinger told the police that she was telling Chris to "Slow it down."
Kessinger told the police that she would tell Chris he should try to work it out with the family.
Kessinger told the police that she told Chris he already had it all: a beautiful wife and beautiful kids.
YET Kessinger's internet searches show otherwise.
The Weld County DA's office released a pdf that is 1,960 pages long. It has witness statements. Interview statements. Text screen shots. Internet searches.

I don't think what he did makes it fair to assume the whole family is sick because of HIS actions. I think maybe they are grasping at straws wanting to believe that their son is telling them the truth when he tells them that he killed her because she killed the kids. I don't think anybody wants to believe their child is capable of such a sick, selfish, horrendous act. Now the girlfriend she is sick in the head for being a homewrecker because she knew he was married. And as soon as the real story started coming out she googled about the book deal and the amount of money Scott Peterson's mistress made because the $$ started rolling around in her sick head.

Were it not for his wife's bestie and his neighbor's camera he prob would
have got away with it. The cops would have been suspicious but they
      wouldn't have had the proof.
The second the bestie, the cops and Chris saw the wife's open purse, and
open wallet on the kitchen counter it started to go downhill fast. Moments later the cops, the neighbor and Chris are in the neighbor's house watching his security cam footage which showed his wife never left and the only way they could have been moved is with his truch which he backed into his garage something he NEVER did before.
Add to that they noticed the missing bed sheet it was a WRAP SON!
If that best friend hadn't sprung into action so quickly Chris would have ditched her car and her purse and Chris would have got away with it. I don't see a jury convicting him. He would have said she was upset about the affair and left. Since he didn't have a record and looks normal and isn't ugly he prob would have got away with it.

The exposure of his internal devient self is what he hates and fears most, imo. It ruins the game. Shanann was his 'beard', his cover. She carried the household responsibilities, not him. He wanted to leech off her, like he did and would probably do again with NK. Like Liz was Bundy's cover.
I mean he never really talked to his colleagues or socialized with them. He was a weirdo..like Shan joked once in a video.
I think that as she got to see his real self and know him, he felt more exposed, and began to.lose interest in her.
Psychopaths need heightened stimulation to feel good, to feel alive. The kink sex with NK is part of it, the sandboarding, speed cars, all connected him to NK because of the intense physical pleasure. He does describe this as addiction, something that took over.. He does not have the psychological development for intimacy with responsibility and reciprocity. No empathy..no debth..no internalized moral compass, no leadership skills either. The relationship would not have lasted with NK either.

This is what cheaters do! They concoct stories about their spouse depicting a bad wife..i.e..lazy or they're a bad mom or they dont sleep together or shes cheating or something. This keeps the cheater integral or justified their actions or keeps the other woman feeling sorry for him! And usually keeps the wife home earning a paychk and raising the kids primarily alone and cooking and cleaning and sexing the cheater up. And he can have it both ways. It’s just so impossible to imagine… I look into my 10 month old daughters eyes, and I see perfect trust. She trusts me implicitly. She feels no fear when she looks at me. Even without the capacity to “know” things, she knew from her first day in the world that I would never hurt her. That her father and I are the two people on this planet that would literally die before allowing her to die. My goal is to make sure she knows that her whole life, after I’m gone, even- that her mother loved her more than any other person or thing in the universe. That her pain was my pain, her joy was my joy. When I look into her huge dark eyes… The thought of hurting her isn’t a thing. It is not a concept that exists, let alone a thought i could have. When I hear of parents killing, abusing, torturing their children… It just does not compute. It confuses the soul, sickens me…
What are you people that can do this? Psychopaths are just some other breed… You cannot be fully human and be able to smother your two tiny children to death. I’m an atheist but it makes me wish there was a hell. Truly.

Psychopaths are very different and normal people can never understand them because we can't even begin to think the way they do, without empathy, without guilt, without anything but how they can manipulate others. Be careful who you marry and have children with, you aren't just sentencing yourself, you are condemning CHILDREN to this evil.

If it happened the way he said he did and Shannan killed the kids, why did he not try to preserve any of that evidence after the crime? I wonder if he had killed the kids before she came home and that “emotional” conversation they had was about her finding out and then him killing her. He’s definitely guilty.

Most parents have and unbreakable love for their children. Evidently that love was not passed down. When I was younger no matter what stupid things I did my parents would blame it on who I was hanging out with... Nope it was 100% me being the dumb ass.. The wife was completely ruthless. Her crappy MLM effort was making nothing, she saw how much CW despised the permanent live stream but didn't care, she had already bankrupted herself when a previous scam failed, she lured countless innocent people into parting with $1000s so she could make a fast buck, she spoke to her kids like dirt when they didn't respond correctly during live streams, She gave them adult pain killers to make sure they were asleep by 6pm, her husband was nothing but a prop in her bizarre MLM life, you saw how ludicrous the make-believe had got when she was in that hotel 'lounge' with that hideous cover band and she pretended the place was 'wild' and 'crazy' even though it was just another corporate shit heap hotel.... the list is endless. Yes, I could believe she murdered the children more than him in a "If I can't have my way then I'm going to make sure you never see your children alive again" bid.
