Ancient Egypt was absolutely terrible place to live.

you missed a point, of rise of useless litigation and violence against doctors even when they try to save mother and baby during normal delivery ,this is major factor why c section is preffered.A lso many mother dont fulfill the basic minimun number of Antenatal visits and end up in complication even though visits are given through guideline n monitoring.
One more point
Survival rate of mothers
Survival rate of babies
In 2008 vs now
This video was balanced but missed on few of the benefits of Caeserean Section. You should have included opinions of atleast a government gynaecologist in this video, they might have brought out more nuances and everyone would have had much better understanding. Doctors would love to talk and explain things when asked nicely and when they are free :). In the future please include subject experts and let them explain their field even for a minute or two. Prolonged lochia ie. vaginal discharge, injury to baby esp collar bone, caput, injury to mother's pelvic floor, chances of prolonged labour pain esp. in first time mothers and increasing saftey of c-sec are also important factors. Besides maternal mortality has decreased and registration and record keeping has improved. Apart from the points mentioned in this video these factors also have to be in play.
As a Doctor m 100% agreed with this video…nowadays most of hospitals are run by business men & politician, therefore doctors are just employee which are forced to do such things…one thing more..now its officially allowed that mother can choose c-section for delivery despite of no indication for c-section
Doctors already earn enough, i don't think anyone can force doctor to do c sec. Only they can pressurized to do not forced to do. My both kids are through normal delivery in private hospital. It was doctor who helped to get it normal.

This topic touched me in a deeper level. I live in Netherlands and was blesses with a baby this month. The baby was around 3.5 kg. This was our first baby so we were not sure what is the procedure of child birth in NL. Few months before the delivery we had an intake with doctor. The doctor declined C-Section as a options. Here is what she said " we doctors in NL pledge to never harm our patients. A c section means cutting 7 layers of human tissue. This procedure will actively harm the mother and baby. We will not perform this operation until either mother or baby are actively in danger "
My wife was very afraid if a natural delivery. She is very soft person, because of that I was also not sure if she could do it. She was in labour for 5 hrs. The doctors the nurses were cheering her all the way. Our baby was born naturally.
Parallely in India my sister was also pregnant. Her child was around 2.8kg. she is way more stronger. She tried for a natural birth. But only after 2 hrs of trying doctors pushed for C-Section. She was almost done but they still insisted for C-Section. They tried all the fear tactics and finally my BIL said yes for C-Section.
I have no doubt about the talent of doctors in india. They are the best of best. But I highly dought their ethics. I cannot trust a single word that they say. And I don't believe that the decision they take is for my best interest.
She was almost done? can you please subpoena the treatment and monitoring records so that we can confirm its not blind hate. Sue him if you're so sure.
Ill tell you you're not so sure because you're not there in the room.
Ill tell you you're not sure because you can just think emotionally and what UA-cam and other social media teaches you
You'll never be sure because you will be the first one to manhandle the doctor if something happens to the baby
Doctors in India may not be the best of the best but we've learnt practicing safe medicine. Safe for us that is- to prevent mortal harm if something bad happens. Let the patient go when he is alive so that we won't be in that bed soon if our best attempts (God forbid the extra bill that is generated) leads to property and physical harm.
Well I would not say all of them are like this but yes most of them are that's why plz always check the hospital first just don't take your family members to any hospital as my brother was also 2.6 kg doctor performed c section becoz his breath was not stable he might have died in natural delivery and we believed the doctor becoz from the beginning he was helping us 😊
Exactly, how do you know most of them are like that? @@Priyanka-jl8pg

@@Zara-ZAFyou have two and you want more babies?
I'm a nurse in a govt hospital. Doctors don't get extra income from patients but they are so impatient that they don't go for normal delivery and even don't encourage a patient for it. In many cases where mothers emphatically want normal delivery doctors ask them or their parties to sign on the risk consent. It's very painful to see being a medical person. Patients are also so impatient nowadays. Doctors don't want to wait for long hours and they think that I'll instead perform 6-7 c-section in that hours.
You are right
You are a nurse. You have the power to stop these things it's very bad for mother and baby normally. Poor people go to government hospitals, and they don't have that much money to feed baby and mother good food. It's very pain full Sean. Please try to help poor people
Nurses don't have any power bro they are the ones who do most of the hardwork and get very less salary this is what i observed when my father was hospitalized
My Bhabhi was in labour pain and the doctor just came and told we are going for C Section. We knew it was all bullsh*t but felt so helpless as it was a call for two lives of the family. Hospitals just want to cash out on every opportunity.

@Lucifer.5465 Based woman!
They take advantage of the fear, at that moment you can't deny their action because it is matter of life and death.
Doctors won't be able to explain the reason for c-sec to every member of the family but the must make sure that the mother and father understand the reason and then provide informed consent, it is not possible to explain things to each and every member of the family who I do understand are also feeling equal anxiety. Also there are several clinics and nursing homes being run with out regulations so monetary motive can not be ruled out but there is a chance that they explained the reason to the mother and father.

Is about the 99% Unnecessary c sections. It is illegal and horrible. How can All women have operetion tell me? C section can be done ONLY for a serious reason and it is Very Rare case only (20%) . C section is done only for very serious reason and health problem of mother or baby. Operetion can be done only if the birth is really not possible because of the serious reason. Women must give birth to a baby, and not cut their baby out of stomach. Indian doctors force women into operetion and dont let them give birth because of the corrupt system. They want to cut you, they dont want to take care of you and give time to you during beautiful labour and birth. Also because of money they manipulate you and lie to you that you must have operetion cause your baby is „weak“ or „water is low“ all these kind of lies. That is why you Women must get Educated and never listen to these corrupt doctors. Here in europe Doctors would never let you to have c section! It can not be done freely, Only for a serious reason what is very rare! Be careful

From where u got delivered ur babies
Thank you for bringing forth such important topics of discussion. I totally agree with you. Being a doctor ( Anesthesiologist) i would like to add that there are procedures like Epidural available in good hospitals for painless vaginal delivery. This is very popular in west ,but sadly, very few people in India are made aware of it. So if any lady is fearful of pain, this could help her.
sorry to say but doctors are 2 types godness like you and devils like in most hosipitals
I knew about Epidural thanks to all the vlogs I watched of an American UA-camr but as I expected, this doesn't seems to be much popular here in India
I had epidural during my both deliveries. Today my children are 19 and 11 and I m so happy I chose it even though I had my doubts. I had painless and quite an easy normal delivery both the times.
But doctor are there any risks associated with epidurals ? Since they sort of play with the nerves I'm sort of concerned whether there won't be anu serious risk associated with such techniques
@@mrperfect971 i understand ur concern. There is no procedure in medical science which is 100% risk free. Even after doing everything correctly, there is always a risk of complication. But that doesn't mean one shouldn't undergo any procedure. In good hands, you'll be safe. Before the procedure, Anaesthesiologist examines the patient to check whether the patient is fit for the procedure or not.

no it's more then 30%..
Brother same things are happening in our bangladesh, why always we women have to suffer? unnecessary pain are these for both physical and mental... government are quite.😭
In Kenya, the govt has forced all hospitals to charge the same amount for c section and normal deliveries. That's why most of the babies are born through normal route. The incentive to push mothers towards c section in greed for more money is over as a result. I wish something similar is done in India. We'll see a dramatic change in the scenario
I had normal delivery for my first baby and i had stitches down there! Trust me that is the worst pain than labour pains and still doctors couldn't save my baby
Maybe my baby would live if i had c- section but it was too late
Lastly - both normal delivery and c - section are painful and takes time to recover .
There simply is no comparison between the pain down there for 15 days after a normal delivery and the 2 month post operative pain from the much bigger and deeper surgical wound from a c-section. My first delivery 20 yrs ago was through an emergency c-section and second one nearly 14 yrs ago was a normal delivery without the need for epidural.
@@vidyaarvind4458 When we don’t take epidural, (I didn’t take it either), usually the tears are much less than when people take epidural. I had friends who had epidural with 3rd degree episiotomy tears and vacuum interventions etc who have a lot more stitches and trauma down there.
@@sushmareddykondapaly Delivery is a tricky business and ultimately the rise in c-sections is not only due to doctors scaring patients into them to earn more and lack of doctor competence and patience to handle normal deliveries (whose course is unique to each woman) but also impatience, fright about labour pain, superstitions among patients apart from genuinely emergency situations.
As childbirth always carries some risk to the mother and baby and normal deliveries can become prolonged or can go haywire at any time, women and their families feel they have more control if they opt for a c-section.
Paradoxically, the more knowledge and convenience people have, the worse their ability to make decisions and accept their consequences becomes.
@@vidyaarvind4458 Absolutely agree with all of that. Just not the original comment where she shared about how hard her natural delivery recovery was and you mentioning it is incomparable, since unlike us( touchwood we had it way easy), some people have traumatic natural delivery too with difficult recoveries.
@@sushmareddykondapaly a normal delivery's success depends on the treating doctor's competence, knowledge and patience too.
Doctors used to c-sections will obviously inflict deep perineal cuts to normal delivery cases too. On the other hand, the size of the baby matters too. Due to improved maternal nutrition or some health condition of the mother, or the genetic constitution of one or both parents, babies may be large requiring a bigger cut to the perineum.
I still feel that a recovery from larger deeper cut on the uterus is much longer than a perineal cut. Doctors now need more practice to gain experience to handle vaginal births. Most docs, even the older ones seem more geared towards surgical births.
The reason why a lot of people prefer private hospitals (clinics) for delivery is because there are less cases of baby mix up at these private institutions compared to public hospitals. Peace of mind is a factor.
my biggest fear is mix up of babies.

One more important thing which was not covered in this video is Medico - Legal problems. If doctors insist on normal delivery and if for some reason Baby develops some problem or requires admission in neonatal ICU (NICU) then patient and attenders start questioning why C-Section was not done, some attack doctors and hospitals and some even sue doctors telling because of normal delivery their baby had problems. So why should doctors would like to take risk when there are no laws to pretect doctors and hospitals against such instances. Please enlighten about this also

I’m a health coach and I did almost everything during my pregnancy to facilitate natural birthing. But at the end, my baby’s head wasn’t engaging even after being induced for 12 hours! At that point it made less sense to keep battling in so much pain when there was no ETA from baby’s side. Doctor then suggested csec which I also thought was the correct decision. Later we found out that my baby had a cord looped around her neck and it could have endangered her life if she came down. So csec was a boon for me.
Plus, in Bangalore pvt hospitals, the cost of csec and natural birth are almost similar. So monetary incentive for doctors to push for csec is negligible.
Also, stitches weren’t that bad. I was walking from the next day onwards with slight difficulty and the pain subsided considerably within a week. I’m 8 weeks postpartum now and ready to start my fitness routine in a few days.

I delivered my baby through normal vaginal delivery in PGI, Chandigarh. My friends around preferred private hospital for delivery but right from the beginning I had faith just in a govt. hospital. I have seen it myself during labour that some to -be mothers requested for a C-Section because they could not bear the pain but the doctors at PGI kept pushing them for normal delivery, and those same mothers were thankful to the doctors after the delivery for not conducting the C-Section.
In my first month of conceiving, two private doctors told me that I have had a miscarriage and asked me to conduct an internal check-up. Completely shattered by this, I went to PGI, they assured me that it's a healthy pregnancy within 2 minutes just by observing my stomach. Yes the procedures in a govt. hospital are quite long and time consuming but trust me it is worth everything.
I completely agree with your point. I even feel docs in govt hospital are way more smarter and intelligent because of the different varieties of patients they deal with despite less resources

I was continuously screaming and shouting because of pains but still no dilation.. dr wr waiting 1 inch dilation more to start the procedure but dilation was not increasing.. at last i started for shouting for operation.. n they simply said no.. bcoz baby head was fixed and only 10 r 20% dilation was left.. i shouted for operation and for forcep delivery.. doctors got angry at me bcoz the pain was unbearable for me.. at last they took me for forcep delivery and gave me warning to corporate.. i countinsly shouted when they inserted forcep for delivery.. pain was out of control.. i was even not able to move my legs r hands or fingers of any from place to other.. but some how i took the pains and co operated with them.. after successful delivery baby was not normal.. he drank amonitic fluid while i was facing dilation and pushes and pains.. they took him into emergency case.. n thr was sharp mark of forcep on his head.. skull was out of shape and he not cried after being born.. but Alhm his healthy and fi9 now.. somehow the day passed.. and it became most horrific day of my life. Not only monetary profit, there is one more point.
The C section takes less time, so a surgeon might do the operation in few hours, whereas in natural, sometimes it might take upto 12-15 hours. To have all the emergency doctor, nurse, bed, blood, syringe and equipment ready for 12-15 hours and NOT have to use them is a big factor in why these big hospitals are forcing C sections. Hospitals see only profit, once doctors were called Gods, today that is going away from people's minds.

First of all. Vocabulary matters. We can say vaginal delivery and cesarian delivery which gives respect to both ways of giving birth. From first hand experience who underwent an emergency c section after suffering 30+ hours and hearing fellow young mothers, realised two things. There is a huge increase in premature water breaking, leading to emergency c sections and secondly cesarian recovery is not drastically different from "natural" delivery. I walked the second day and was able to touch my feet after they removed stitches. Unnecessary fear of both ways of giving birth and lots of misinformation is the major cause of postpartum depression in mothers. Child birth is not predictable like we hope.

It's not always a scam there are cases when mother and the child's health is at risk and then the doctor considers emergency c-section. Iam also an example of that I waited till the last minute suffered all the pain for normal delivery then finally had to go for c-section in the midnight as my baby had passed meconium (babys first stool inside ).Let's not generalize that all are a scam. C-section is painful too and the life long back pain is also terrible.
@@dmathew0077 yes mam I'm not telling it's always a scam. But there are times where normal delivery is possible yet they perform c-sec. @@adityasalunkhe1288 Normal delivery requires lot of attention. An average doctor can not handle more than 5-6 Normal deliveries in a day with full safety.
But Doctors can easily handle 25-30 CSections in a day like factory that produces Rs1Lakh every 30mins. And insurance also covers that money.

Exactly.. And above all the unhygienic conditions in govt hospital and unavailability of normal delivery procedure in private hospital is also an important factor leading to people preferring c sections...

There should be a fixed cost decided by government only for deliveries...no matter c section or normal delivery .....it should be fixed
That would only worsen situation because it would mean you cannot have a child without paying money. It is actually illegal in India to not have a hospitalized delivery.

I have lots of gynaecologist in my relatives…. They themselves want kids through c-section instead normal delivery….. as they admit c- section involves less risk to babies …. !!! That’s the only reason why women prefer c- section.
A guy can't say much for a woman. My mom had both c section and natural delivery. when i was born, she did c-section. And she says she's glad she did that! When my sister was born, she was In the natural delivery she got stitched down there in the vagina because it tore. She explained how it made her life worse the pain was unbearable. She gone through trauma, both physical and mental.

I went through a c section 5 months ago....I was an overweight mother...hence my doctor recommended a C Section....I agree with most of the points here....but I feel that not all doctors are the same.....it was beneficial for my baby...and that's what matters to me

In my mother's case,c section was required during my birth as my head was too big to come out by natural birth..otherwise,rest of my siblings were born normally.
Idea💡: I'm requesting everyone who do not have financial issues, They can Make a Non-C-Surgery hospitals which will never do C-surgery of womens & the amount of fees to be paid for child delivery will be fixed, the C-Surgery operation will only done in rare case.
Stop peddling this bullshit...Being a man, you have no right to preach about how a woman should be treating her body and more so, during child birth because you can never ever imagine in your wildest dreams what toll does child birth take on the body of a woman! It doesn't matter how it used to happen in our primitive past...The simple fact is this: C section or normal delivery, both have their shares of pros and cons. It's either a woman's choice or medical grounds that determines & should continue to determine how a woman delivers her baby...In all instances I have come across so far, including my family's, I have never seen doctors pushing one form of delivery over other to the extent where I have seen doctors encouraging normal delivery over C section. There may be cases where C section is deliberately pushed over normal delivery with the sole intention of earning more money which is wrong for the sole reason that a woman is not getting even an opportunity to make her own rightful choice. To my limited knowledge, the cost doesn't change with normal or C section delivery and hence, preaching to do more normal deliveries is downright male chauvinism...You will get some right to post this sick video of yours only after you go through a gender change operation and give birth to a baby out of your own vagina that will be cut and stitched on top of the pain of pushing the baby out...If you cant even do that, then at least first take scissors and cut your miniscule penis and stitch it with thread and you wouldn't even have experienced 1% pain of what a woman goes through during and after child birth (pre childbirth is another story all together!)...
Very true!
Perfectllllyyyyy agreed!

I am a Doctor and I am running a Hospital, 50% of couples go for elective C-sec because they don't want to "destroy" female's genitals by normal delivery, that's a common believe in general population. Rest of the 50% who don't opt for C section, approximately 25% go for emergency C- sec because of delayed labour as they don't develop labour pains even in the 3rd stage of labour. I always ask the couples to go for normal delivery if they are fit but it is hard to convince them at the stage where women are alredy prepared for caesarean section.
Another bright side of C-section is significant decline in maternal and Infant mortality rates across the country.
And yes normal delivery doesn't "destroy" patient's vagina all it requires some time for recovery and vaginal epithelial tissue is resilient.
Yes normal delivery recovery rate is much faster and healthier than c section complications and upcoming diseases after it, so if people are inviting unhappiness than no one can correct it, although they don't know more than doctors
One of my friend also told me something similar if you will go for normal delivery your sex life will not be the same 😂 and I thought how previous generations had so many kids then😂.
I had a normal delivery this Feb and let me tell you let your body heal and recover and everything will be alright
why epidural are not common in India? Women fear of labour pain.
Why do India needs these many kids.... We need absolute birth control for atleast 2 decades
My mother has 3 childs and all through normal deliveries whereas my all aunts have their childs through c section and one of the biggest difference I see is the abdomen structure of theirs.. My mother body is perfectly shaped whereas my aunts stomach r automatically bigger and cause them problem in day to day life
You covered this topic beautifully. On the positive note due to the advancement and easy availability of c section procedure and good infant care there is dramatic decrease in maternal(mmr) and infant mortality rates(imr) in india. IMR from 93 in 1990 to 27 in 2020 and MMR from 437 in 1990 to 103 in 2019.

But India is lacking these , yes they are improving , but still there many patients under 1 doctor so doctor has to think of all patients...... Think before you blame anyone

It's better to have stitches on your abdomen than to have it on vagina coz in most of the cases of Normal delivery doctors cut 3-4 cm of the vagina to widen the opening so that parturition is made easier and baby doesn't drink dirty water and the stitches pain and bleeding takes a lot of time to heal...and usually the umbilical cord also gets stuck around baby's neck which may cause problem to the baby as it becomes hanging rope for them if not delivered fast.....normal delivery is not that easy it's really painful......and back pain problem is common in both C-section and normal delivery.......so choose wisely ladies if you are not mentally prepared or you are afraid of labour pain than go for C-section .....coz both have their own pros and cons.....
I feel its very painful for natural delivery which no men can feel physically....so unless epidural are used for pain management why women should face that tremendous pain......so women going for c section to avoid that pain
Also since women has already suffered pain doesn't necessarily mean we continue to do so...talk about pain management in natural delivery rather only speaking about c section....bcz i as a woman should not to feel the pain of vaginal normal delivery....unless pain management is introduced in normal delivery....you need to point this out as well
There is another reason, due to increasing incidents where patient dies and relatives beatup doctors/hospitals, though here two cases 1. Due to incapability and negligence of doctors 2. Truly not in doctors hands. Doctors may prefer safe option and just do c section even if slightest complications. There needs to be ambudman kind of law for proper investigation in patient death cases

The common factor in healthcare systems in India and US is that they are for-profit. You should have mentioned the % of C-Section deliveries in developed countries with free or non-profit healthcare.
Your content have always been amazing and informative

This becomes an advantage to health service providers which try to induce fear among the parents to be.
C-section delivery will give more money to the private hospitals as well to the public hospitals, they get more grant from the govt.
C-section is abnormal way to deliver a baby. The body takes time to process that the baby has been delivered.
It affects largely to the babies as well as to the mothers.
Even after 8 months of delivery, the mother feels pain in her spine.
Normal delivery helps mother as well as baby.
These pros and cons are ofcourse not disclosed to the parents and even parents are not much bothered as everyone now a days need comfort and higher profits.

A year and half ago my sister in law had a baby. It was a government hospital and her mother insisted on taking her to that hospital as she has helped some other ladies from neighborhood in their postpartum period and during their labour so she had some experience with such situations. In the room which she was admitted in during her labour pain a nurse came in and told her that she'll have to go through a c section as baby is not in right condition to be delivered normally without informing any other family members that were present right outside her room also she chose exact time when she was momentarily left alone. Hearing this she panicked and her blood pressure elevated then when her mother got to know about the reason for this she first helped her calm down and then she asked that nurse not to tell her such information which isn't necessarily confirmed she also suggested after talking with my sister in law that they'll go for normal delivery. The baby was born perfectly healthy little boy. My sister in law was healthy too all thanks to her mother she didn't had to go through any unnecessary procedure.
But in those few moments when she was left alone that nurse really caused her to worry if it weren't for her mother's insistence, support and much needed courage she would have given in to their suggestions and would have gone through unnecessary c-section. She was brave throughout her pregnancy and labour to endure such stress and also her mother is strong for helping her make such serious decisions with a calm mind in panicky and stressful situation.

I think hospital fee is the main reason

Agree with every point. My first delivery was a last min c-section...i had no complications and in a way we were literally arm twistrd into having one. I was 31 years then. At 35 i had my second baby which was a vaginal delivery despite my first being a csec... The only difference in both my deliverues was that the second time around we were more cognizant and chose the right hospital( where the rates of normal and csec were the same) and a doctor who was famous for her normal delivery rate. Honestly the only way to fight this as an end customer is to do your homework and find such doctors/hospitals. When the other doctors/hospitals start losing patients to these hospitals is when they might finally wake up.
I myself know women who themselves preferred C-section because they didn't want to endure the excruciating pain of labour while they're totally illeterate and uneducated about the complications of it. It's an alarming issue. Even i myself was born through c-section and so my sister, my two maamis both of them had c-section, my newest maami had to go through c-section with no reasonable cause and even my father on hearing the news questioned 'why do these doctors perform c-section on everyone with any reason? ' one thing i got to know more was some doctors or surgeon in private hospitals are paid per number of surgeries or c-sections performed hence they are forced to promote it more so they earn.

I think government can start giving some incentives to hospitals which maintain there c section deliveries between 10-15%. Or make some strong laws around that criteria.
Then those mothers and babies who actually need the c section can suffer greatly and can die
Always try to choose the hospital which is having very less difference in price of C section and normal delivery. Although those hospitals come under top class and are non feasible for lower middle class to afford, but yeah, normal deliveries are also back in tradition.
