Made this crib for my son because of this video! Couldn’t be happier with how it turned out
“Turn the router speed down for hard maple to avoid burning” I’m literally sitting here having coffee before I’m about to rout an edge on a ton of maple. That’s a great reminder with perfect timing! ...And beautiful project too btw!
Nice, perfect timing for sure, thanks Blake!
And I'm about to fine shape a bass guitar neck from birdseye maple with a router and template so I couldn't have watched this video at a better time!
These are my favourite kind of builds , the thing that could be passed on from one generation to the other , congratulations in advance for your new baby , I hope that he/she and your wife will be in good health.
Me too, will be really cool to have this video showing how it was built. Fingers crossed!
I think the dowel failure was a success for the design. The rounded square slats look amazing and fit the overall design much better.
Thanks, glad you dig it!
I didn`t intend to make use of this woodworking book, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* but rather curious about it. I had been truly amazed right after trying it. It never disappointed me in my wish to acquire more information about the art of wood working. Many topics were covered, including everything from wood types to developing your workshop.?
Came out beautiful! The end result is deceptively simple and clean -- lots of precise joinery required for this one!
Thanks Mike, definitely a lot simpler looking that it actually is, lots of work!
This is incredible. The most amazing thing about this is that you know it will be safe for your child because you built it. I wish I knew how to build when my first was born.... his crib (that I bought) broke in the middle of the night! I walked in to find the rail completely broken with the slats just hanging loosely!! And when they are teething they tend to bite the crib so using Rubio was a great call!
Thanks a lot Tamar! And yes, super happy I know that I built the thing bombproof, I will be super impressed if the kid can break it, hah.

Fantastic job, a lovely crib which I’m sure will be a much love family heirloon👍
Thanks!
The crib looks great. Congrats to you and your wife on the baby :)
Thanks man!
Thank you... i made it for my soon to be born daughter ... with your drawing ... measurements were spot on... looks great
That crib is gorgeous. Your kid will have an appreciation for modern design.😏👶
Thanks, and they better! They're going to grow up in a mid-century modern nursery surrounded by handmade furniture, hah.
Rainy holiday in Brazil, a hot coffee and a video of your channel, my holiday started very good!
Nice, sounds perfect David!
Congrats on the upcoming bundle of joy! Had my first child (a daughter) last April - can confirm, its a great time to have a baby since it starts to get nice out and you don't have to stay couped up indoors. Getting out and about and walking around can help keep mom/dad/baby sane. Good luck! And great video!
Thanks a lot Nick! I definitely love the fact that we'll be able to get outdoors and hang out with the kid, should be a great summer.
Love the contrast between the maple and Walnut!!! And congrats on the future tiny person!
Me too, thanks John!
My wife and I are also expecting in April. We'd love to have a crib like this one. Congrats!
Nice, congrats!
Congrats to you and your wife on baby #1! Beautiful project to enjoy for years to come!
Thanks a lot Barry!
That came out really nice! I do a lot of work with Walnut and light colored woods, so I really love the contrast. Congratulations on the becoming a father!
Thanks a lot, I love the contrast too!
I could hardly notice how beautiful the crib is because I was blinded by the beauty of the JB SQUAT!
Hah, glad you enjoyed it, Troye! :)

Seems like a good day for sure, thanks!
Great project. I appreciate that you respect the original designer's copyright and thank you for the skp file with your interpretation. My daughter is having her first so I want to make something special for her. :)

Thanks a lot Angie! Not here yet, still cooking :)
looks great!!! Congratulations by the way.
Appreciate it, Christopher!
Great build, I really like the way the dowels turned out in the end! I was half expecting some sort of "Yo, MTV check out my crib" line at some point, haha.
Thanks, I'm really happy with how they turned out too. And that would have been a good one!
Congratulations!!!
Thanks Shelby!
Congrats! Great vid.
Thanks Mikhail!
What a beautiful piece! An amazing family heirloom for sure. Also hope to see the sketchup plans when they come out
Thanks James! The SketchUp file is here: craftedworkshop.com/store/mid-century-modern-baby-crib-sketchup-file
@@craftedworkshop I love this design. I’m trying to duplicate it for my grand daughter but I couldn’t find SketchUp file. Please help me if you can. Thanks
beautiful project!!!
Thanks Emanuele!
Beautiful....well done
Thanks Phil!
I used your video to guide me through making this crib ~2 1/2 years ago. It turned out amazing(only I notice mistakes that I made for the most part, but in some ways that's a good part of the story now!). Perhaps a bit ambitious for my first woodworking project but it turned out great thanks to your video! Now my second child is using it! Thank you, thank you!
That’s awesome Phil! Our second kid is using this crib now too!
great build johnny. congratulations on the upcoming bundle of joy.. :)
Appreciate it, John, can't wait!
This woodworking book is really detailed, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* ! With the aid of this plan, I was able to use words, drawings, real images and different diagrams. It is really an informative product. I am presently making furniture together with my brother and thanks to this product, I feel like helping him is possible.?
Nice work
Congratulations!
Thanks Randall!
Love it
Very nice i am proud of you
beautiful and lovely
Thanks Pari!
Thanks for the video and idea. Built a version of this for my first
grandson.
That’s awesome! Congrats!
Nice job
This looks sweet, and a fun idea for the ends of the crib is to use a solid panel with a CNCed pattern cutout :D
Thanks, that would have been cool for sure!
Awesome work
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the inspiration. 🇦🇺
Fantastic!
Thanks André!
so cool
Congrats my daughter is due April 9th! Can't wait!
Nice, congrats Doug!
Great job! I designed and built my baby girl's crib too. I can tell it was a good built, for for the last 8 months that she's been sleeping on it I haven't heard any complaints... LOL!!
Hah, nice Giulio!
April 22! That is earth day as well as my birthday. Also, excellent build!
Yup, good day to have a kid, thanks John!
I think it turned out way better with the rounded edges rather than perfect dowels! Congrats on such a great build! ..& the new baby too :P
Thanks a lot Alex!
Great build! Your going to have to make a matching rocking chair now.
Thanks Rich! A Maloof rocker is on my list, but I think this kid will be 5 before that's done, hah.
Congrats!! Damm I built a crib for my Boy months ago and wish so much to have this "mortice machine'... Making the all the mortises by and took me ages! Cheers from PT.
Wow, I bet it did! I think they're worth it, considering how much time they save. Thanks!
Excellent...!
Cheers ......
Thanks Adam!
No idea rubio monocoat was 0 VOC! The crib turned out amazingly and the "plan b" looks even better!
Thanks Adrian! Yup, another benefit of Rubio I guess!
Congratulations to you and your wife
Nice, congrats! Thanks.
Great job on the build and congratulations on your child.
Quick side note - I think it's amazing that we know when children will arrive down to the day. It's like ordering something off of Amazon. Except it's alive. And you and your wife made it. But other than that it's exactly the same.
Hah, it probably won't be down to the exact day, but it should be pretty close. It is pretty crazy!
Congratulations to you and your wife on the newest addition..crib looks great bro,! Man thats a lot of mortise and tenons.think the most I've ever made in one set project was 28 lol now ya need a rocking chair and some baby gates;)
Thanks Joe! It was definitely a lot of M&Ts, took a LONG time.
amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Luck kid you have there to have such a great set of parents. Again congratulations .
Thanks a lot man!
Congrats
Appreciate it!
Walnut mattress supports?!? That's pretty funny, love the crib!
Hah, it was some fugly Walnut, it was going in the burn pile otherwise.
Crib came out great. Really is awesome. This is built so that it will last all the way through your 10th or 11th child ;)
Thanks man! That'll have to be grandkids, because there's no way we're having that many :)
