Fave part of this wholesome video was your co-workers, you've got a great relationship with them. Just ordered everything I need to convert to BMX handlebars on my EP-2.
Keep the mods coming! I've got an Engine Pro and there just isn't a whole lot on youtube about it. And YES get a 1500W motor for it! What a beast that would be. Thanks for what you're doing!
I love this conversion, I did this to my Sondors five years ago and I do it on all my electric bikes now. I keep it folded up and behind the seat in my extended cab truck all the time no problem. When in my van I fold it and toss it in the biggest plastic tub wal mart sells and it is so much easier to move around too. Enjoy
I fitted a raised upright stem , and 10" inch raised swept back BMX bars , like yourself found the handling changed for the better... Kept my display at lower point of bars , as bars shield it from damage .. bar end mirrors give good all round visibility
Definite upgrade to the light situation and those bars make it so much better, I'm building a ebike from a mountain bike and changed out the bars first
I bought my wife an ebike with the same type of setup as far as the handlebars go now I know what to bye great info and a great video as always, keep modding that bike is starting to look really good
Just found your channel 2 days ago, ordered the Engine Pro from Engwe. Can you do a video replacing the motor? Would love to see it and do it for mines as well when I get it😂
Very cool video, would love to see what you keep doing to this. Looks 100 times better with those bmx handlebars and the headlights are super nice. Thanks for the link i might have to snag those, i feel like you don't even need the stock headlight anymore lol.
If you still want to raise your bars you put the extender in and black spacers in then the stem and bars and it will look correct for the height and stop and play like you mentioned in your previous video. I watched your videos for ages and wasn't subscribing somehow, I have now and always enjoy your videos especially your super 72.
Has anyone attempted to power upgrade the big 26 folder version? I loved everything about that one except lack of power.... Maybe bigger rear motor or 2nd front? Definitely enough battery. Would love to keep stock mags if possible. Thanks
Check out David brand new he just came out with the turtle neck quick release 2.0. The handlebars are now adjustable with the same quick release you simply remove the bars and put them however you’d like
Yeah me and him talk over Facebook. I don’t have any bikes I’d throw bmx handle bars on or switch anything around. I sold my bikes that part would have been good for
@@MrCentralDriver So something I was thinking about is maybe mount a motorcycle style headlight there to fill up the space. I have no experience with it but it might does the job
I told you having wider bars give you more control over the steering I never have my handlebars high i don't want to feel like im riding a chopper bike with ape hanggers that bike is sweet now brother 😅
well vinnie does have shorter legs though I bet you could put a auxiliary seat on the back rack and get better stretch on it and be more comfortable specially not pedaling .
I tried doing that (moving the seat back) but it changed the balance of the bike toward the back too much and I was doing wheelies whenever I touched the throttle.
love the vids, keep it up. have you considered getting a 360 camera? you'll get nice footage from all angles. a bit more editing but worth it for sure :)
the original handlebar sure looks lame but its much more ergonomic for your posture, im thinking of buying this bike, and already checking how to go around the lame looking handles but still keep it tall as the original ones, im 187 cm and i think just slapping BMX handles on would be too low for me, not uncomfortable but also not good for the posture in the long run for daily driver
If you free...please tell me what Power Settings are best for you in Engwe pro. I think 2 options are best 0-5 and 0-9, but what percentage is optimal, good enough to give you 25 27mph. Thanks
@@petermacdonald8331 it should be set to 20 as most controllers take the tyre size into account and some unscrupulous manufacturers set it for larger wheels to indicate a higher top speed when the bike can’t achieve it the only way to check is using a gps speed app

I CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE LIFE OF ME why people want to put BMX bike handlebars on a grown up electric bike that can do nothing like a BMX bike can do.. First off so the point of these bikes is to be able to fold those handlebars down for transportation. THAT HAS COME IN SO HANDY FOR ME PUTTING TWO OF THEM JUST LIKE THE BIKE YOU HAVE BUT I HAVE THE G- FORCE T42 THE ABSOLUTE BEST BIKE FOR THE MONEY AND PERFORMANCE IN A SMALL RAV4 FROM 2004 WITH NO PROBLEM.. BMX handlebars destroy this advantage. I understand the aesthetic because your kids you grow up on a BMX bike you think it's cool brings you back to childhood. It's nothing but a disadvantage putting these on your bike. I understand changing your handlebars to make them shorter or wider which is real cheap maybe 25 bucks on Amazon. First off when you put these BMX handlebars on your bike and you're a tall person YOU'RE SITTING IN A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE BENT OVER POSITION THE HANDLEBARS ARE JUST TOO LOW!! Those long next of these e-bikes is essential and important to the proper posture writing them. This is because they have small you guessed it 20-in type tires that are on kids BMX bikes. As a grown up you get tolerant outgrow your BMX bike. To be comfortable on a long-term ride. Because those tires are so short and if you're a tall big person. You need that extra height to ride comfortably long distance. The BMX handlebars go against everything those bikes are made for, for performance and comfortability. Me personally I am 6'1 I have my handlebars up all the way and those are the ones that come with it that are very long!! Maybe it's because I put my seat IN THE CORRECT RIDING POSITION FROM THE TOP OF THE SEAT TO THE PEDAL LIKE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT IN A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T DO THAT DOES DAMAGE TO THEIR KNEES AND LEGS OVER TIME. In general when you're sitting The top of the seat height should be right at The top of your hip. Or another good place to start. Sitting on the bike against the wall. Put The crank all the way down as far as it can go. Put your heel on the very back of the crank with most of your foot hanging off. Your leg should be almost perfectly straight. So when you do pull your foot back a little bit at the ball of your feet you will have the correct essential knee angle So you won't do damage to your knee and it's much easier and the best power position for riding. At this seat position you really need to put your handlebars up to be comfortable. THIS IS WHY THESE BIKES HAVE EXTRA LONG NECKS TO ACCOMMODATE THE CORRECT WRITING POSITION!! THE BMX HANDLEBARS GO AGAINST ALL OF THIS!! FACTS GUYS!! I guess people are obsessed with their childhood riding their BMX bikes standing up all the time doing stunts. Then sitting down In the worst position for long-term riding. But the BMX bike handlebar fad doesn't even look good. It's like putting A cat's head on a tiger's body. It just doesn't look right 😂 And it downright looks childish.. Sorry for being so honest and verbal but I just don't get it.

@@MrCentralDriver I'll say it another way if you just tried the riser mountain bike handlebars I think they are 25.4 in the middle All depends on what rise you want and what angle. And get the 28-in or bigger bars. Probably for like 25 or $30 And you leave everything else the same. You would like them just as good if not better than your BMX handles. Believe me I've tried them all. And like you said you would not be hunching over anymore leaning forward for a long trips. It works best with the bar it came with but a little bit longer in a different angle or rise. And I love the fact that you don't lose the fold down ability and that most important THAT HEIGHT I NEED THAT HEIGHT ON THOSE HANDLEBARS!! Driving with BMX handlebars that are lower on those type of bikes hurts my back too much pressure on my hands absolutely horrible.. How wide are the bars ?
Little felt tabs at the far end of the battery stops the rattle. If the battery rattles a lot it can cut power, annoying.
