    Mate - looks wicked - I put BMX bars on my EP2 and a 'light bar' for extra lights - I just LOVE how it looks! Your bars look the nuts. The forks are brill - thats my next project - I've had my EP for nearly a year - 2000 miles plus - it's cheap as chips component wise - so these upgrades are well worth it. I'd love to change the motor for a bafaang - my motor is horribly noisy (currently doing battle withe Engwe customer 'support' but don't hold out much hope!) but I'm not sure if the baf' would be a straight swap into the wheel. Hey ho. Oh - and ignore the haters - you've put your mark on your bike and it's awesome!

    • @SFARCO
      @SFARCO  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! I bet the light bar looks sweet. 2000 miles in a year, dang, that's a good amount. I think the bafang has a different connector style, but there might be adapters. I haven't looked into it. Thanks for watching!

    Dude thank you for this video I need to fix my stock stem. I broke a left wexling handlebar grip and I’m getting an error 25 rn. Hopefully I can fix the bit of space in between the stem section and such. I wanna apply the upgrades but want to try to fix the stock fork but your video has shown the stock for really is a pos and gets clogged easy with dirt and crud. Also that new stem looks so much more sturdy then the original I really want all these upgrades just scared of what it will do to portability. Regardless these are nescarry and almost needed for my bike to function actually properly. Might even need some new break pads

    amazing tune up of this bike, i got it recently and i realized how vulnerable the joint for folding the bike is in the rain i wouldnt call it water proof at all so here is my question what is that thing on your frame covering the entire thing up and did you also add something from the bottom where the cables go inside the frame ? there is a big hole too, one last question how did you change the seat i just got new one but after removing it i realized i have no idea how to take off the last piece of metal from the tube

    Do you think it would be possible to mount an additional headlamp without having to remove the existing one? I'm not much of an electrical guy, don't know if that would disrupt the circuit or whatever if I spliced the same wire to the light with the new headlamp. I don't want to remove the existing one because it has the horn.

    • @SFARCO
      @SFARCO  8 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it's possible. However, I have read online that adding powerful lights could cause damage to your controller. I have moved my second light to be wired directly to the battery since it has its own in/off switch. But one time, I was regening down a steep hill, and it took out both my lights and controller. So now I try to only use regen with the lights off.

    i have the ep-2 pro. basically the same bike but just with no rear suspension. i have upgraded the brakes and the cheap fork couldnt handle the stopping power when i had to stop hard for a car running a red light... anyway the fork bent in where the disk break mount is welded so it is now unsafe to ride and the brake always rubs no matter how i align it. im going to be using this video to replace the fork :D
    will also look a lot cleaner. thank you for taking the time to make this video!
    just wondering, did you have to do anything special to make the wheel fit in the slots on the 9mm QR fork? or did it just slide in.

    Hey @SFARCO! You inspired me to get the Lezyne front lights and they just came in today. But my question is how you managed to connect them to your controller? Some great upgrades! Have you considered swapping out the thumb throttle for a full or half twist throttle? That's something I've been considerring but not sure how easy it would be. I've also considered replacing the front wheel with a powered version (maybe a 500w motor) and retaining the existing thumb throttle for the front, just to give extra performance when needed to get up the steeper hills. Would be great if anyone knows a powered front wheel option with a similar spoke pattern to the existing rear.

      Thanks! I like the half twist or full twist, but I also like the custom grips that I put on the bike. I have looked into a front hub motor on a mag wheel. So far, all I have found are 170mm fork opening, not 135mm, which is what is needed. There are options for the 135 if you don't mind having traditional spokes.

    cool vid. question is about tube tire vs tubeless. I have a ninebot max clone scooter and on the rear motor wheel the tube blew almost immediately after 3 uses probably poorly installed at factory pinch flat or they use the wrong tube, valve barely fits into rim sideways due to length. its a total bitch to get this tire on it's so tight (getting off not that easy either, and i've changed a lot of bike tubes), i got some long tire levers finally managed to get tire back on with new tube, but even with thick tubes i punctured 2 of em in process of installing, ready to give up and trash the thing. I've used scooter 3 times sitting in garage for 6 weeks. I want to go tubeless , but the coated tubeless tire that "might" fit is like 100 bucks, but it doesnt sound like i even need a "tubeless" tire. The stock tires are thick and tight as hell on the rim, so I'm guessing if i can find a valve that works, it might work? Are you putting the tire sealant in there just in case of punctures, or because the tire isnt a tubeless tire and wont seal well otherwise? I have a bottle of slime, should i use that with the stock tire. I know car tire install they put something around the bead on the rim (is that just the same sealant you use?). Should i just order the valve and see if it works? Im heavy so theres a lot of pressure on the back wheel.

    • @SFARCO
      @SFARCO  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! A lot of tubed tires will work as tubeless. You do need to buy a new valve stem. The sealant is used even with tubeless ready tires and rims. It helps seal the tire to the rim, and if you get a puncture, it will self seal. What they put on automotive tires is usual just lube to help slide the tire bead over the rim. You will want to use some sealant tape on the inside of the wheel. Gorilla tape works! Hope this helps.

    • @soneeeee4440
      @soneeeee4440 11 місяців тому +1

      @@SFARCO ok thanks. what makes a tire and a rim "tubeless ready"? I have a bottle of slime, is that good/thick enough? ordered the valve yesterday. I'm not sure where the tape would go on inside of rim or do you think its needed? -- The rim is thick heavy cast alloy (motor wheel 6.5 inch diameter), the tire bead will sit on a 1/2 inch wide lip that's about 1/4 inch down from the (fairly thick) edge of each side of the rim , whereas the center of the wheel is about an inch wide and lower down from the lips. Should i put tape on those lips but i think seating the super tight tire would move the tape anyways, and the wheel probably gets quite hot so would tape last in there ? No spokes solid alloy

    • @SFARCO
      @SFARCO  11 місяців тому +1

      @soneeeee4440 Tubeless tires have some minor design changes like the shape of the bead might be different. But I have seen many people use regular tires and not have any issues. As far as your bottle of slime, it depends because there are different types of slime. So you would need the type that is marked for bike tires.

    Not a flywheel, a gear cassette, on a freewheel which does not get tightened by the hub motor, only by your pedalling. The motor is in the hub and doesn't use the gears at all. Tyre sealant at that low pressure didn't work for me with a puncture, made a fine mess though. Why you mess up a good folding bike to make an imitation of the M20 is beyond me, why not just buy that? Oh, and all Engwes have brake lights.

    • @SFARCO
      @SFARCO  Рік тому +2

      Yes. I misspoke when I said the motor would tighten the freewheel more. I meant pedaling, but figured people would understand. And yes it is a freewheel, not a cassette. Also the motor is a geared motor, so it does use gears. The motor doesn't use the freewheel gears, but I never said it did. Why would I buy a second bike when I can customize my own for cheaper and put my own personal touch on it. Ruining it is a matter of opinion, it was pretty ugly before, in my opinion. And no, not all Engwes have brake lights, if that where true, I would have a brake light. But I don't, they cheaped out and installed only tail lights on most of the original Engine Pros. Even though the controller is set up for a brake light. So maybe double check your facts.

It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike.
