Not sure as I’ve only changed the settings as in the video and they’re available to me. You’ve probably got some AI or picture mode selected that greys out some options (don’t know which one though). You could factory reset your TV if it’s important to you and start the picture setup again. @@TheReviewFella ok thanks for replying , yes very important to me as wanted the 55inch for the screen, a waste losing so much screen, i will try what you said and reset 👍
Wait please explain to me how Warm50 is the most accurate? Take a piece of white paper and compare the white on the tv with that piece of paper. Either I am blind or when you set it to 0 it is actually white and when you set it to warm 10+ it's just yello-brownish..
I believe the accuracy refers to colour grading etc in movies and TV shows, which is much warmer than real life. Targeting 6500k neutral white. To try and reflect the content as the creator intended. You may also be used to looking at much cooler displays, so it can take a bit of time to get used to. I find warm 50 too warm, although if you had your TV calibrated, that’s how it would be set. However, there are a wealth of TV settings to choose from. For example I prefer Warm 30, but you can cool it down more. Or choose Standard as a picture mode, for a very cool image. But light skin tones may look too cold and blue. However I’m not a TV calibrator and others may be able to answer your question in more depth.
If anyone is on the fence between the C1 and newer model C2. Your gonna pay 1500 dollars more for the C2 for 20-25% more screen brightness. I would go with the C1
For the best picture for sdr content is it better to leave the colour gamut to native in the expert bright picture mode rather than auto detect? I'm trying to get the best and most accurate picture
@@TheReviewFellaI thought that auto detect was best, thanks for the reply. In the video you left it on native hence the confusion. this really is a great TV for the price these days
Thank you so much Review Fella. Followed your video and used all your recommended settings. Simple to follow though had to pause as I adjusted the TV for each step! Brilliant picture now. Thank you again.
@The Review Fella thank you I was like it picture mode when I hit cinema it sets it for all there was no dolby next any of tye image modes like your t.v. had next to cinema.
Turning on the blue reduction filter calibrates the TV correctly. The TV always looks like it has a blue tint. The filter completely takes care of that.
I agree with the reviewer about Dolby vision cinema being a little dark although I don’t like the artificial colour of cinema home. Personally after weeks of tweaking, I settled with Cinema mode and added both Auto Dynamic Contrast and Peak Brightness to medium. It gives you a little more shadow detail and doesn’t quite wash out the colour as much. Anyone who’s struggling to get the right settings should try this. I know every panel is different but I like colour and brightness both at 50 too.
I watch football on UA-cam TV on this TV...Any recommendations for me? Some games in the stream are perfect. Others, seem grainy. It drives me nuts. Thank you for any advice!
Hello great video. I had a question about your game settings. I see you said you left everything at default. Does that include HDR and non HDR settings? I don't think you show in your video you playing games that weren't in HDR from what I can tell?
Yes, however I don’t check the settings after each update. The settings were correct at the time of making the video. LG often add and remove features.
What do you prefer? Try them both and stick with your preference. Filmmaker Mode will show content the way the creator intended. I find it can be a little dark though, particularly for SDR content.
These settings really helped me. I mainly stream SDR/HDR content using the built in apps and they really made the picture quality pop. I use my ps5 for gaming only and not streaming
@@TheReviewFella since I made the post I realised the ps5 forces video content to be HDR even if it's SDR that's why the picture looks horrible plus game mode does something to it aswell it's more convenient to use the in built apps so I don't have to change settings all the time
You’re welcome. What is your source? In built apps? Cable box? Usb dongle?Expert modes are only available for SDR content, so you won’t get them with HDR/Dolby Vision. The settings for those are in the video. If you are streaming SDR content via a dongle, try the in built apps instead.
hi there, when you say the G1 and C1 have the same panel I know there was lots of discussion if In fact the C1 has the Evo panel but I thought from memory the 1st run (batch) of the C1 did not have the Evo panel. either way I appreciate the ease of your expectation of the settings. thank you for making this such a short but with all the information anyone would need in order to understand each of the different options in the setting menus
Hi and thanks for your comment. That’s how I understand it too. I bought my C1 in late 2021 and it does have the evo panel. On the C1 the evo panels are often more pinkish on the left. First generation C1s don’t have this (as far as I know).
Thanks for this video. I was wondering what would be the setting to choose for SDR video games?? For a PS2 for example (far less than 1080p) or an xbox 360 for an example with 1080p hardware.
I thought I was going crazy because I couldn’t see almost any detail in the darks during Dolby Vision gaming. It was really making me regret purchasing this TV but after turning off Dolby Vision the picture looks so much clearer for me. Thank you so much!
@@TheReviewFella it’s a strange one. Cause cold 20 makes the image look brighter and sharper but using warm 30 makes it look more movie and immersive if that makes sense? Like if I was trying to get things to pop for showing off I’d probably use the cold 20 but watching movies the warm 30 I think works better
@@TheReviewFella also I feel there needs to be 2 separate settings for sdr 4k and then lower res. I feel your settings are good for 4k but not for low res stuff. Would love to see you input on this
there are so many hidden menus. I pretty much followed these settings and have the smoothness I wanted during Amazon streaming it also blows my mind that the TV remote can be used on the xbox
so it's safe to set the pixel brightness for SDR to 100 in gaming ? i get the best picture when this cranked up to 100 in both SDR and HDR but i heard for SDR it will have some risks on the TV if this was up to 100 any truth to this ?
Maximum brightness has been linked to more risk of image retention, but if you have all the screen protection features turned on, and play different games and watch a lot of different content, then the risk is less.
thanks! Quick question did you go into settings and turn “hdmi deep color” to 4k? Or did you leave that off? When I turn that on most my content is put through HDR.
What would be considered HDR content? I use Game Optimizer for gaming on my PS5. I use your SDR settings for when I’m watching cable tv (and UA-cam hopefully that is correct). I use Cinema Home for Netflix viewing as I’m usually watching Ultra HD content. I don’t understand what content would fall under your HDR picture modes though? Hopefully those questions made sense. I’m almost all done tweaking thanks to your help. New G1 owner just trying to understand everything
No problem. HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a technology that extends the range of colour, contrast and brightness, which improves details in the shadows and highlights, so you get a more impactful image. Such TV shows and movies will be listed as HDR or Dolby Vision near the title. Hope that helps a little. You’ll mainly find this content via Amazon, Netflix and Apple TV for example. Some games are also HDR.
Hi, you won't be able to tell for sure without going into the engineer/service menu. And for that you'll need the service remote. However, as far as I know, the C1's built in the latter half of last year and early this year do have the evo panel. The evo panel usually has a slight pink tint on the left side of the screen if you look at the TV off centre, and slight blue tint on the right side. This is usually the best way to tell outside of the service menu, and it's down to a filter or screen coating applied to the evo panels.
I am going to follow your recommendations but probably just leave mine at warm 30. I am bummed out to find out there was a plastic film on back of tv I did not notice. I had someone install my tv on a wall mount and now I cant take the back film off. I am probably going to have to leave it on now and just hope it does not cause me any problems.
Nowhere does LG tell you to remove it (although I took it off mine). And in fact it’s not that easy to remove. It doesn’t cover any vents and I don’t think it will cause you any issues, so don’t worry about it and enjoy your TV.
Standard Dynamic Range content on Netflix might be listed as HD or 4K (shown near the title on the information page of the film or show). HDR content is usually listed as HDR, HDR10 or Dolby Vision) depending on the TV or device you’re using. Hope that helps.
if this helps at all. if you find your white balance is greyed out when applying settings you might need to turn the blue light function off. i had the same problem when applying the settings with my firestick and found that if i had the blue light set to on then my white balance was greyed out and when i turned it off my white balance setting returned.
I think you’re right. The in menu guide isn’t very clear in explaining if High or Low gives more protection. The reason to consider setting it Low is if you're gaming. Sometimes the UI elements in games can be mistaken for logos, so gamers might want this set to Low (or at least experiment with the setting). Thanks for clarifying!
It’s only available for content that supports it. So if you’re streaming Netflix which could be Dolby Vision for example, or HDR through Amazon Prime, it’s not available. You should see it for SDR content such as your standard channels on cable TV. The video explains all those settings. Thanks.
Same as me then, and I've tried to replicate the issue and no matter what I do I can't. I'd be tempted to reset the TV back to factory defaults. Then reinstall the updates and try again. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
Thanks for the video. Im a new owner of the G1 and have a question, keep in mind I’m not the most tech savvy. I mostly game and watch Netflix. For gaming I do enable game mode but what settings would I follow as far as OLED Pixel Brightness, Adjust Contrast etc?
@@TheReviewFella I got ya appreciate the response. I had one other question/issue when watching any type of Netflix Ultra HD 4k I’m not seeing the “Dolby Vision” being displayed under picture settings, why is that? It just says HDR Mode standard, cinema, filmmaker etc.. and I’m trying all different types of high def content. Does it only say that if I’ve got a high end receiver outputting lossless audio? Hopefully that makes sense. I’m referring to the picture mode shown at 6:15 mine doesn’t show that.
Not sure about that one sorry. Things that spring to mind: Are you using the app on a Dolby Vision compatible device? To check this make sure you’re using the TVs built in Netflix app, rather than one on a dongle. Also, do you have the highest tier Netflix plan that streams Dolby Vision? If your internet speed is low, Netflix will drop the stream quality. Streaming quality should be set to High according to Netflix (must be a setting in the app)? Try streaming some free Dolby Vision content via Apple TV. That’s what I used in the video to test. Sorry I can’t help more.
@@TheReviewFella I found out the culprit. Thanks for pointing out trying different sources. So I was using my PS5 to watch Netflix this whole time and I guess it turns out PS5 doesn’t do true Dolby Vision. I ditched the PS5 and instead used the LG app and it’s now displaying Dolby Vision under picture settings.🙏🏼
SDR and HDR can be streamed via UA-cam so the TV will select the correct mode for the content. Unless you specifically choose a HDR title, your content will be SDR.
Why can't I get into the cinema screen setting on my 65 c1? Can you help? Also I can't get into peak brightness. They are both grayed out. 16:9 is not there it says original. Please help with the cinema screen setting.
I can’t replicate that issue, but certain settings may be unavailable depending on the source content. Cinema is available for me on my C1 for SDR, HDR and Dolby Vision content. Do you have this issue whatever you’re watching? What is your source? Cable TV? TV apps? Dongle? I’d also be tempted to factory reset the TV and start again.
You're TV has the same OS installed I believe. I'm not entirely familiar with the UQ8000, but you should have the fundamental picture settings as with the C2/G2. Therefore you can still select Expert Bright Space (Daytime) etc, as I have.
I need you guidance please!!! I’ve asked customer with no luck. I have a LG G1 and when I play video games using the PS5 the TV will turn off for no reason?…. I’m so frustrated. Please help me.
If you mean it turns off in the middle of gaming, then I'm not sure. This started to happen with my Chromecast on my C1 but it's stopped now. Things I'd be tempted to try are...a different plug socket and/or power bank/extension lead. I'd also swap out the HDMI cables for something else (unless you are using the PS5 original which should be fine). Sorry I can't help more.
I’ve just tested this by streaming Stranger Things in Dolby Vision via Netflix, and all aspect ratios can be selected. I’m using the Netflix app via a Google TV dongle though, not sure if that makes any difference.
Great video, thanks. What do you think of filmmaker mode ? I use FM for SDR and HDR. Also do you prefer TruMotion to be disabled? I am ok with warm 50, so have kept it. Just need to figure out if I Want to go with FM or perhaps another mode.
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. I’m not a great fan of Filmmaker mode. But if you’re watching a movie in a dark room, and want to experience the visuals as the creator intended, then that’s the mode for you. I prefer one of the Expert settings. TruMotion seems to work fine for me set as default. I’d say whatever mode you prefer is the right setting for you. None of the settings are mandatory. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment.
I don't use the same settings as you, but this video was MASSIVELY helpful in helping me find the perfect settings for me. I've been trying to figure out why my PS5 and 4k Blurays looked perfect but UA-cam and Prime Video looked strangely blurry(like motion blur was enabled) and this guide finally helped me figure it out. I had no idea the HDR settings were only set when accessing HDR content. Thanks to this video now EVERYTHING on my TV looks absolutely gorgeous.
Good evening! Not everyone just TV for movies only, can someone with a good heart indicate the perfect settings for watching Sky Sport 24 or football matches or "normal" TV?
Normal TV is SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) and is covered in the first part of the video. Sky Sports is either HD or 4K? So is also SDR. You also might want to tweak the motion settings if you suffer motion blur during fast moving sports.
I can't take off Energy saving mode It's not in Support menu can any one help me or is it something lg did in there last update so you can't take off the energy saving mode so it looks So dimmer due to the c2 coming out

I have my C1 set to auto update. I also pressed the button to manually check for updates when I first set it up. But after that the TV updates itself. It’s possible updates are different by region as I’m in the UK.
@@TheReviewFella Thanks, wow ur replies are lightning. Yeah i’ve checked, the software updates are region dependable. Your videos are great , im subscribing, keep it up👍🏻
Thanks for this video. It’s very helpful. It would have been excellent if you had not been moving so quickly through the instructions. Other than that, it’s great!
I never had the CX to test so I can't really answer that. Auto Detect might give you a more accurate gamut based on content. I quite like mine set to Native. It seems to work for me.
I use standard..I tried your setting, but almost the same with standard gives more detail in HD content on streaming services such as Amazon or HBO max. Dynamic range low and sharpness 25. Remember when streaming sharpness is lost.. totally different than a Blu-ray or game.
Wow! Thanks for this. I'm so excited as I have a 55" one of these on order, arriving this Thursday, and I really want the best picture I can get, so I will be following your instructions to the letter. I will have it hooked up to various consoles and DVD player (I will be using an HDMI splitter to give me extra IN connections) and also my Surround sound 5.1. Have you any calibration tips for sound? I've been reading bitstream is the way to go? I see you favour the onboard speakers, but are there options for setting sound to Surround sound as I want to experience the full cinematic experience? Also, do I need to go through these steps for each individual HDMI port, or do you just do it once, and it's applied to all connections? Sorry for all the questions, but I SO WANT the picture that you have.....it's incredible! Once again fab video and thanks so much for sharing your tips with us.
Hi and thanks, I’m glad you find it useful. For sound, I just use the internal speakers because my Bose soundbar is too big to fit in front of my C1, that’s the only reason. So I don’t calibrate sound. I set it to Standard, sometimes Clear Voice Pro for movies. HDR is auto set for native apps and it shouldn’t matter what HDMI port it comes through. You may need to update the picture settings if you use different input sources for HDR such as built in apps, Google TV dongle, Firestick etc. Thanks for the feedback and enjoy your new TV!
I've watched a few video's like this, but always seem to have major screen judder regardless. Its frustrating and seems worse when using recommended settings.
It's not something I've experienced at all. Oddly my brother picks it up in everything, so not sure if he and myself have different tolerances for blur/judder maybe.
thanks for your settings . just bought the 55c1 and i've been looking for decent settings. i use a freesat box for general tv and your sdr settings are pretty good. i also have a windows pc and firestick connected to the other hdmi's. do you have settings for these as well? i use the pc for general web brousing and youtube but i can't seem to get a decent picture. keep up the great work it's much appreciated.
Thanks. Depends what you're streaming via the Firestick. If it's HD or HDR content then those settings are covered in my video. I stream from a Google Chromecast and just use the HD/HDR settings as in the vid. Not sure about the PC as it's not something I use myself through my TV, but as the TV is just acting like a large monitor I'd try and tweak the resolution and display settings on the PC itself.
I really like your video. Thanks! I was wondering if you ever tried the other presets on game optimizer? If so I was wondering what made you prefer standard over say like rpg or fps mode?
@@TheReviewFella Thanks, I have tried streaming Amazon prime, that doesn't seem to switch to HDR. I have another question, I'm currently watching walking dead on amazon prime, there is a character on screen with a black background, the background looks like it flickering with different shades of grey black, is there any way I can stop this? Thanks I'm advanced .
There is a new series called Night Sky on Amazon Prime. It’s HDR and will put the TV in HDR mode. Or search for HDR demo on UA-cam. Not sure what the other issue is sorry. If it’s only on that show then it could be the broadcast itself rather than a particular TV setting.
Hi, I've received c1 a week ago. Really big jump with my ps5, but disappointed with 1080p videos on youtube, and dolby vision tv-shows on Netflix gains a lot of grainy noise in the image. very often think image is too dark, I prefer to have it a little bit brighter. also, it remembers the last HDMI port that was picked, that's why every morning when I want to watch some news, it launches my PlayStation automatically first, so I need to turn it off, and then switch to another HDMI, and open youtube. Mb you have some suggestions?
Mine does that, when I've been playing my PS5 at night, the PS5 turns back on in the morning when I turn the TV on. For me I just change channel before turning my TV off at night. However to disable the feature on the PS5, go to Settings, System, HDMI, and disable HDMI Device Link.
It’s my understanding that C1’s built in the latter half of 2021 and after, have the EVO panel. This can be confirmed by the slight pink and blue tint at the edges. HDTVTest also confirmed the same.
Have you enabled 120Hz Output under Settings/Screen and Video? Also some games support 120Hz but you have to select Performance mode instead of Fidelity mode from within the games settings. Also go to Saved Data and Game/App Settings from the PS5 Settings menu, and turn on Performance Mode.
Do you have the LG C1 or G1, or are you thinking of buying one of them? What do you think of this TV and the picture settings? How do you set your TV up?
Big thank you for these settings.looking nice on the c1. What settings do you use for normal hd ie sky HD or netflix content in normal hd mode . Many thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. Normal HD is standard dynamic range (not HDR or Dolby Vision), therefore I just leave it set to my preferred SDR settings (same settings when watching cable TV, as shown in the video).
The TV auto detects Dolby Vision and puts the TV into Dolby Vision HDR mode. It pushes brightness etc up to 100%. I leave this as it is (as auto set by the TV). As shown in the video.

For the best picture for sdr content is it better to leave the colour gamut to native in the expert bright picture mode rather than auto detect?
I'm trying to get the best and most accurate picture
You could do. But I watch a range of mixed content with mixed quality, and prefer the TV to choose.
@@TheReviewFellaI thought that auto detect was best, thanks for the reply.
In the video you left it on native hence the confusion. this really is a great TV for the price these days
Yes I think that video was one of my early ones. The C1. Since then I feel the TV makes the best choice. Thanks again.
Thank you so much Review Fella. Followed your video and used all your recommended settings. Simple to follow though had to pause as I adjusted the TV for each step! Brilliant picture now. Thank you again.
Glad to hear you found it useful! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave some feedback.
At 5:00 the value of the logo why did you put it low? everyone says that in the CX / C1 / C2 panels it must be kept high...
This video I made recently may explain that setting a little better: ua-cam.com/video/o6SbydwpD3U/v-deo.html
I just got this tv never had a oled do you got to turn on dolby vision or it and hdr10 automatically turn on when I watch Netflix of my Xbox?
Should auto detect. Certainly does for native apps. Not tried the Xbox.
@The Review Fella thank you I was like it picture mode when I hit cinema it sets it for all there was no dolby next any of tye image modes like your t.v. had next to cinema.
What the best color temperature for HDR channels
Warm 50 or Warm 30 (my preference).
Even if you watch it on the firestick
I don’t have a fire stick but that’s what I’d choose.
What about Netflix
Turning on the blue reduction filter calibrates the TV correctly. The TV always looks like it has a blue tint. The filter completely takes care of that.
Thanks for the info.
Totally agree but somehow for DV, I like Cinema Home, just more pop to the picture. Perhaps I could select Cinema and then further tweak.
What's are your sdr and hdr settings? I'm on filmmaker mode with tweaking
that's funny. Under Cinema mode on my C1, those options of Auto Dynamic Contrast and Peak Britghtness cannot be changed (they appear grayed)
I watch football on UA-cam TV on this TV...Any recommendations for me? Some games in the stream are perfect. Others, seem grainy. It drives me nuts. Thank you for any advice!
What is the racing game that you showed at 7:30?
Need For Speed Heat
Hello great video. I had a question about your game settings. I see you said you left everything at default. Does that include HDR and non HDR settings? I don't think you show in your video you playing games that weren't in HDR from what I can tell?
Hi and thanks. I don’t really change any gaming settings. The TV will automatically switch between SDR and HDR picture settings for games.
There have been a couple of new firmware updates since this video. So what I mean is, are these specific settings still recommended or not?
Yes, however I don’t check the settings after each update. The settings were correct at the time of making the video. LG often add and remove features.
Thank you. This was exactly what I was looking for. A plain language guide for dummies, LOL! Some videos are way too technical for me.
Glad it helped. Thank you.
I use filmmaker mode for all content. Thinking if I need to switch to isf bright?
What do you prefer? Try them both and stick with your preference. Filmmaker Mode will show content the way the creator intended. I find it can be a little dark though, particularly for SDR content.
These settings really helped me. I mainly stream SDR/HDR content using the built in apps and they really made the picture quality pop. I use my ps5 for gaming only and not streaming
Glad it helped. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
@@TheReviewFella np the picture quality seemed a bit off when watching UA-cam and other streaming content on my ps5
The LG TV apps seem to work better.
@@TheReviewFella since I made the post I realised the ps5 forces video content to be HDR even if it's SDR that's why the picture looks horrible plus game mode does something to it aswell it's more convenient to use the in built apps so I don't have to change settings all the time
Thanks for the tips but it seems I dont have every settings that you do ? Cant seems to find the expert mode that you showed any idea why ?
You’re welcome. What is your source? In built apps? Cable box? Usb dongle?Expert modes are only available for SDR content, so you won’t get them with HDR/Dolby Vision. The settings for those are in the video. If you are streaming SDR content via a dongle, try the in built apps instead.
I love these settings, made my picture look much better. Can I ask what settings people are using for football and sports in uhd ?
hi there, when you say the G1 and C1 have the same panel I know there was lots of discussion if In fact the C1 has the Evo panel but I thought from memory the 1st run (batch) of the C1 did not have the Evo panel. either way I appreciate the ease of your expectation of the settings. thank you for making this such a short but with all the information anyone would need in order to understand each of the different options in the setting menus
I’ve only used mine with the later generation consoles, but I’d just use the default game settings.
I thought I was going crazy because I couldn’t see almost any detail in the darks during Dolby Vision gaming. It was really making me regret purchasing this TV but after turning off Dolby Vision the picture looks so much clearer for me. Thank you so much!
I'm glad you got your picture sorted. Thanks for commenting.
Hey why do you leave hdr at cold 20? Cause it’s a much colder blue image then the other settings you do?
Because the TV auto sets everything just right for HDR content in my opinion. But of course you can tweak it to your taste.
Would love to see you input on this
My settings look great on my TV, but of course tweak to your taste.
there are so many hidden menus. I pretty much followed these settings and have the smoothness I wanted during Amazon streaming
it also blows my mind that the TV remote can be used on the xbox
I’m glad you found it useful.
Please what is the settings for standard mode ? Thank you
In the video are my preferred settings. That’s all I use.
so it's safe to set the pixel brightness for SDR to 100 in gaming ? i get the best picture when this cranked up to 100 in both SDR and HDR but i heard for SDR it will have some risks on the TV if this was up to 100
any truth to this ?
Maximum brightness has been linked to more risk of image retention, but if you have all the screen protection features turned on, and play different games and watch a lot of different content, then the risk is less.
@@TheReviewFella i see ,well better tone that down a bit then and get it back to 90 which was the default by the LG team if you're in PC mode
In regards to game picture settings, you change anything or leave it as default?
I leave everything as it is. The only thing I’ve changed is the sound settings, as the default game sound settings sounded a bit weird.
@@TheReviewFella Thank you !
thanks! Quick question did you go into settings and turn “hdmi deep color” to 4k? Or did you leave that off? When I turn that on most my content is put through HDR.
Hi, no I didn't do that. Only what has been updated in the video did I change (as far as I remember).
@@TheReviewFella strange. Okay thanks! Not sure if I should do it or not.
It only works correctly for supported devices. If not supported it can cause issues. I just left it as default as the TV auto detects HDR content.
Thank you! I'm now enjoying the best picture ever on my 55-in C1. The colors are finally true and it's bright enough.
Glad it helped. Enjoy!
Good evening, I have just purchased a "48" C1 from Costco. How can I find out if my tv has the Evo panel?.Thanks in advance.
I’ve heard that you can tell from the number under the barcode on the box. Look for something like: .DUSPLJR
Are these settings for the G1 still actual?
They are still valid if that’s what you mean.
So what if we use our console to stream instead of the tv would these settings still apply?
Good question and yes they would. The source shouldn’t change the picture settings as you’re still streaming SDR or HDR essentially.
I decided to go with 30 on colour depth for hdr cause it was too cool blue for me
Sounds good to me.
Is there a quick way to tell what you're watching? I'm finding it hard to know if I'm watching sdr from Netflix
Thanks for the info 👍🏻
Just on logo brightness some people are saying high setting prevents logo being brightest?
I think you’re right. The in menu guide isn’t very clear in explaining if High or Low gives more protection. The reason to consider setting it Low is if you're gaming. Sometimes the UI elements in games can be mistaken for logos, so gamers might want this set to Low (or at least experiment with the setting). Thanks for clarifying!
Hey man, noticed that my C1 doesn't have the expert brightness day or night settings. Any tip on how to find it?
It’s only available for content that supports it. So if you’re streaming Netflix which could be Dolby Vision for example, or HDR through Amazon Prime, it’s not available. You should see it for SDR content such as your standard channels on cable TV. The video explains all those settings. Thanks.
Great tutorial really helping me set up my tv...1 problem i,m having tho is my white balance in colour is greyed out? Any ideas on why that may be?.
Thanks. What mode is the TV in? Are you watching SDR content through a cable box for example? Or are you gaming?
@@TheReviewFella i,m using a virgin cable box
Same as me then, and I've tried to replicate the issue and no matter what I do I can't. I'd be tempted to reset the TV back to factory defaults. Then reinstall the updates and try again. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
thanks for your help
Hi, go to Advance Settings and turn off “Reduce Blue Light” to access “white balance” in color.
Just bought the 65” c1. Absolutely amazing! Even my fiancé is happy with the purchase. Saved 400$ because of a July 4 sale. Amazing!!
Good deal for sure. It’s a great TV. Enjoy!
Hi, would you think these settings work for the B1?
Hi, very much so yes. You have the same Expert modes, and calibration between the C1 and B1 is very similar in my experience.
Picture looks great now, thank you! I used ai sound instead as it syncs up better with my bose sound bar
Glad it helped. Enjoy!
Thanks for the video. Im a new owner of the G1 and have a question, keep in mind I’m not the most tech savvy. I mostly game and watch Netflix. For gaming I do enable game mode but what settings would I follow as far as OLED Pixel Brightness, Adjust Contrast etc?
You’re welcome. Game Mode automatically sets those things and I don’t touch any settings when gaming, other than enabling Game Mode. Enjoy your TV!
Good to hear. Thanks for the update.
Would these settings be good for lg c2
I have a dedicated LG C2 TV settings video on my channel.
@@TheReviewFella what's SDR
Standard Dynamic Range. Usually the SD or HD channels you watch via your cable TV box for example. So not HDR.
@@TheReviewFella what would UA-cam come under
SDR and HDR can be streamed via UA-cam so the TV will select the correct mode for the content. Unless you specifically choose a HDR title, your content will be SDR.
Late reply to this but really good settings for my c1 - thanks
Glad it helped!
@@TheReviewFella Thanks for replying. I took the hdmi out and it worked. I read on Google that this happens.
I’m glad you managed to fix it.
dam i wish there was a vid like this for my lg UQ8000 Series - 4K UHD LED LCD TV.
I’m using a 4K HDMI cord. I’ll swap out the plugs.
Thank you 😇
I cant change the aspect ration in Dolby vision mode in my C1 it doesn't let me? Can you help? Maybe its the katest update?
Same using filmmaker with tweaking
I don't use the same settings as you, but this video was MASSIVELY helpful in helping me find the perfect settings for me. I've been trying to figure out why my PS5 and 4k Blurays looked perfect but UA-cam and Prime Video looked strangely blurry(like motion blur was enabled) and this guide finally helped me figure it out. I had no idea the HDR settings were only set when accessing HDR content. Thanks to this video now EVERYTHING on my TV looks absolutely gorgeous.
Appreciate the feedback. Thank you.
Too bright at nite if set the way you recommend. The ALS works ok where I live.
Perfect in my lounge but the important thing is to set it however it looks best for you.

The Latest software version that i got is only - 03.21.10
I notice yours is 03.21.20
How do i update to 03.21.20? Btw im in Singapore
I have my C1 set to auto update. I also pressed the button to manually check for updates when I first set it up. But after that the TV updates itself. It’s possible updates are different by region as I’m in the UK.

I have it as dim as I can, it's easier on the eyes, so I always turn down the brightness. Any good apps you recommend for this tv?
Plenty to choose from. I only use Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Netflix and Rakuten.
@@TheReviewFella does turning down the OLED brightness hurt/mess with the picture in any way? Is it just a room lighting type of setting?
I was with FM mode for a long time. Now on EXPERT Dark/Bright for SDR. For HDR I prefer Cinema Home. And for DV, I have exactly the same settings.
Sounds good to me. Thanks for the comment.
Couldn’t be happier about the c1. Had it for about 6 months now. Still waiting to regret it. I usually regret big purchases 😂
It’s a great TV. You definitely made the right choice.
Thanks for this video. It’s very helpful. It would have been excellent if you had not been moving so quickly through the instructions. Other than that, it’s great!
Thanks, and using pause and making notes may help.
Why don't I have expert dark or light as options in my vision select?
Note sure. Do you have the LG C1?
Is native the same as wide on CX? Is that how your colors pop in SDR?
Why does HDR constantly flicker on and off on my xbox on Prime
Not sure. Tried a better HDMI cable? I prefer to watch through the TVs built in apps. I get no issues there.
I've watched a few video's like this, but always seem to have major screen judder regardless. Its frustrating and seems worse when using recommended settings.
It's not something I've experienced at all. Oddly my brother picks it up in everything, so not sure if he and myself have different tolerances for blur/judder maybe.
Do you have somthing on by al service?
I’ve not touched the AI Service. It’s set as default, out of the box.
Ty for the vid, will try these out.😃
You’re welcome. I hope the settings work well for you.
thanks for your settings . just bought the 55c1 and i've been looking for decent settings. i use a freesat box for general tv and your sdr settings are pretty good. i also have a windows pc and firestick connected to the other hdmi's. do you have settings for these as well? i use the pc for general web brousing and youtube but i can't seem to get a decent picture. keep up the great work it's much appreciated.
Thank you! I find the default game settings work fine for me and therefore I haven’t changed them.
For gaming settings??i have Xbox series X
I haven’t changed anything for gaming. I’ve just turned game optimiser on and left all the defaults as they are (as mentioned in the video).
Can someone tell me what's the easiest way to get into HDR mode?
Stream HDR content from one of the built in apps such as UA-cam or Amazon Prime etc. This should then give you the HDR picture modes.
Thanks man! 😎👍

Thanks for the feedback. Normal HD is standard dynamic range (not HDR or Dolby Vision), therefore I just leave it set to my preferred SDR settings (same settings when watching cable TV, as shown in the video).
Not letting me change peak brightness ?
It will be the picture settings or what you’re streaming. Some settings will be greyed out depending on the content.

No, not a professional calibrator.
When you see cold 20 color temperature everything is obvious;)
If someone really doesn’t like yellow tint warm 40 ok 30 is fine but cold? Buy cheap tv
What about Dolby vision m8
The TV auto detects Dolby Vision and puts the TV into Dolby Vision HDR mode. It pushes brightness etc up to 100%. I leave this as it is (as auto set by the TV). As shown in the video.
