  • Showing you how to install a RoyPow lithium battery S5156 in a Club Car Precedent 48v. This works easily on Club Car Precedent without OBC. As you will see in the video I’m using a cart that has a OBC so I will have to bypass it. Carts that don’t have an OBC will be easier but will go over both in the video. Just installed a RoyPow battery in my Club Car. Where did you get the Stock plug to ac plug that you are using to charge the battery? Great video.
    Thanks

      Roypow is changing their charger plugs around so I’m not sure what I’m getting next but the plug in this video is what I normally get with the chargers.

      Thanks for the quick response. My charger came with a normal wall plug so I have been searching for an adapter. Thanks Again

      Hi
      Thank you very much for the video, I just got my lithium battery and I’m looking for the charger adapter like yours. The one that came with the battery is smaller and I like to use the cart stock plug.

      @@theseventy7904 that’s the new way they are sending them out until they get more of the adapter like in my video in stock.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful! Could I use a different battery monitor with this instead of the one provided from Roypow? I already have a Renogy and shunt, wondering if I could install on negative.

      You can use another battery meter. Just hook it as as directed. Should have three prongs. One to main positive, one to main negative and the third is to your key.

    Mounting the battery on the passenger side. Does that cause any weight distribution issues? More weight on the passenger side.

    Will these RoyPow batteries fit a 2013 Club Cart Precedent? Also, Where do you get a replacement battery charging port?

    • @jbgolfcarts
      @jbgolfcarts  2 роки тому

      Yes. I sell the kit on my website JBCarts.com and shipping is $299 if needed. Out of state buyers do not pay Texas sales tax. I did do a tutorial video on how to install it on the club car as well. Roypow now only uses the charger adapter that connect directly to the battery now and no longer uses the receptacle.

      @@jbgolfcarts ....... Thanks....also, does the new battery charging cord use the old battery charging port that is next to the F/R switch so you don't have to raise the seat to charge battery?

      @@steveharris2768 have to lift the seat on all updated roypow conversions. You can mount your charger on board and run an extension cord to the charger or leave the charger out of the golf cart but either way you have to lift the seat

      Everyone is loving the conversion I’ve done on their carts. Lot easier then lead acid batteries.

    I watched your video on the RoyPow installation. I would like to know if you have any pros or cons on the battery. Or have you been able to test the range distance on a full charge. I have a built 2018 club car precedent and I’m looking to swap out the acid batteries and put in RoyPow 105. I would like to know if you had any kind of problems or have heard of any problems for this battery before I fork out the money Thanks

      I custom build carts so I have no feedback as far as how the hold up to their rating but I will say if there was a range issue my customers would have called me. So far so good though. I’ve had no calls or complaints from customers.

      Upgraded with the plumquick motor with Navitas controller and battery protection comes on going uphill. Shuts golf cart down completely. But distance is great.

      Look at other Lithium batteries for golf carts. RoyPow doesn't honor their warranty. I have a 3-month-old dead Roypow battery that was in my 2017 Club Car.. Been jacked around by them since April.

    i run 8 6v battery in my cart that is 1800 amp hours.6 8v battery is 1400 amp hours it has always been about the amp hours for the longest life..when i ask the guy about these he said only 56 amp hours

    • @jbgolfcarts
      @jbgolfcarts  3 роки тому

      You can do the calculation online. You will need your kWh and the voltage to get the amp hour (Ah), with both of your systems you are saying 48v. This lithium battery is 2.8kWh at 51v = 54.902Ah. I used the Trojan T105 for the 6v example at 1.5kWh (according to Trojans Data sheet) and does not increase the overall amp hour if hooked up in series. 1.5kWh at 6v = 250Ah. Multiply the kWh by the number of batteries. 12kWh at 48v = 250Ah. 1.51kWh at 8v = 188.75Ah. Six of the 8v Trojan T875: 9.06kWh at 48v = 188.75Ah. Roypow states it runs, at max, the S5156 will go 20-30 miles on a charge. According to research I've done online the lead acid does double that new but started to fall after the first year so If you need the range of 40-50 miles then go with the S51105. 5.3kWh at 51v = 103.92. The rating on lead acid run time stops at 75 minutes at 75a, the lithium runs max at 200a so the lithium goes over double over what the same rated lead acid battery will go. According to searched online and roypow info below. Trojan PDF is below and roypows rating as well. Hope the info helps.
