Great walkthrough. You don't mention the interlock cable as far as I can see. In my old quiq charger the interlock was connected via green to orange wire. The Roypow seems not to have interlock. How did you solve that?
Been reading in the golf cart forums lately that some people are having problems with RoyPow batteries and the company isn't very good at standing behind them.
Then don’t use it and this video isn’t for you. Why be negative? I haven’t found a company with a cleaner install and a lot of big battery manufacturers are on backorder so it would be hard to warranty anything right now. Trojan t875 is two months out before they would consider swapping it out. Is Trojan now bad too? If you want to be negative go back to the forum where those people exist.

You will need a reducer if your light kit can’t handle 48v. Some can but most can not. Here are the reducers I offer. jbcarts.com/?s=Voltage+reducer&post_type=product
Do you know why my installer would have not run the charging cable from the battery to the charging port? I have to lift the seat to plug into the charger. I'm afraid the weight of the seat will mess up the cord over time.
@@jbgolfcarts Thanks! I was also told to plug charger into the battery first, then the wall. With the plug under the seat, that's much harder for me to do. Have you heard this, and is it important?
@@buzsaw7632 I’m sure they are getting away from using the receptacle because people are plugging in their lead acid charger and catching the battery on fire. I like the new way. It’s meant to be an on board charger now and not be unplugged from the batter. You just run the cord from the charger in the wall now. If you plug into the wall first and then the battery the charger won’t work.
have you had any issues with the roypow chargers? i got my first 2 sets in and they give a fast blinking red light when plugged into any outlet wit or without batter connected.
Very odd. When I started my install my brackets are exactly the opposite of way you did -- with the three holes on the bracket facing out. Doing it that way I didn't even have to drill any holes -- the three holes in each side lined up exactly with holes already in my battery tray. My only curiosity with it was if the battery should be in the front half or rear half of the tray, does it matter at all or just your preference? I was thinking if I set battery in the rear tray section I could use the space in front for mounting the other electronics to have all right there together.
No. It would blow your controller unless you controller is setup for 96v. Most golf carts are 36v or 48v and rarely see a 72v. Check what volt your golf cart is and order the battery according to your voltage.

Depends on how far you want the range to be. 56Ah is up to 20-25 miles a d the 105Ah is up to 50 miles.

This is what we have. Looks straightforward except we don’t have the 12volt reducer for the light circuits. Can you get a reducer or should we?

New roypow way. They no longer use the receptacle.
