Great vid, thanks! I have a question: in some video tutorials I’ve noticed that a palette can be placed on top of the page, on the upper border. How can I do that? I haven’t been able to figure it out. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the great video! It doesn't work for me somehow, I can see the .gpl file in the palette folder and in Inkscape on the side bar, but the slide at the bottom bar shows empty, no colours. Do you know what it could be wrong? I am thinking I don't have the right application in my Mac to open .gpl ??
LIINUX USERS: You can show hidden files by using either of these methods... 1. Right click anywhere in your Home folder and tick the checkbox for 'Show Hidden Files' 2. Home -> View -> tick the checkbox for 'Show Hidden Files'
after bitting around the stuff my five cents: when inkscape generate the glp file it put the color swatches in RANDOM places, so my process: 1. generate a 3 color glp file 2. open the glp file in notepad++ 3. each line have the color rgb followed by the "color name" which the default when inkscape generate the glp is the color hex 4. change the hexes and for your colour names and reorder the color order, you and ADD new colors just plucking more lines into the glp file. 5. reload inkscape and be happy
@@tiagopesce You can also create GPL palettes in GIMP in the order you want, save it, then import it in Inkscape, it's a bit more work, but the colors will be in the order you saved them.

Thanks for the easy to understand tutorial, much appreciated
Much easier than typing all the hex codes into a doc. Thank you so much as I need to set up 5 palettes.
Thanks for the tutorial! Was very helpful

outdated stuff. inkscape custom pallete isn't working anymore. it doesn't load .glp in the proper color order
