I wish they were cheaper because I want one, but I also think it’s a good thing. You have to REALLY want a tag to get it. For anything quick, a mentor tag works just fine. I think the “gate keeping” in this care leads to higher quality commander tags
at start i just a member in squad for DE Meta, and after deciding to get my own tag, i tried to commanding for DE Meta, and most of the run went smoothly. for those who just want to try commanding, don't be scared, i think there are a lot of kind people will help and understand if you make mistake at commanding, GW2 is a great place with great community, specially in PvE contents
I want to learn to command HP runs for both PoF and HoT - without 3rd party apps! Also Silverwaste and Dragonfall! I loved my commanders for that content, but I can’t find anyone anymore
If you're looking to save frames, lowering quality on player models and hiding nearby players will make the biggest difference. Turning the environment and shadows down could help too.
I'd usually recommend commanders to have stuff figured out past the point of needing TacO. Once you've run things a couple times it's usually pretty doable.
I know it has nothing to do with this video, but I’m curious about your thoughts on the new map and it’s economic effect. More of what you think ANet is doing right and wrong versus the literal effects because those are pretty clear
I've not looked into it much. Item sinks being added is always good for the longevity of the game as far as I'm concerned, but I've been too busy doing stuff with my boyfriend to play since it came out. I'll add a comment a bit later with more thoughts.
I've always been immediately kicked from any commander squad i have ever joined even before the event starts so I have just started ignoring most of this stuff. I just look at the event timers now, Its not a great impression as a newer player but i have found a lot of gatekeeping (Squads/Guilds) goes on in GW2 that no one really talks about.
Interesting... The only situations I've ever seen for kicking people out of squads is when players are on other maps. If that's not the case, I'd urge you to give a different squad a try, as what you experienced isn't very common. You'll probably find gatekeeping in instanced content. With the exception of Dragons End, where commanders need specific roles filled, open world is generally the most accepting of newer players.
I usually kick people for 3 reasons. 1 they aren't replying or seemingly reading chat. 2 they aren't in my map. 3 They're being an asshole in some way.
honestly i see allot commanders not amaouncving shit wen i just randomly roam around o sudenly see 3 /4 commanders doing a world boss with out amoucning it lol
It was originally expensive to make sure people couldn't just tag up to be a nuisance in WvW, amongst the tags of people actually trying. They've kept it that way as a gold sink. In the grand scheme of things, the cost isn't that big of a barrier. In the time you're learning to run a few metas, you can make the requisite gold.
Thanks Abree. Don't know when, but being a good commander is part of my GW2 road and am grateful for this help.
I wish Com tags were cheaper. I've been debating if I should get one, to run fishing events and stuff.

Mukluk But On Fire? ROFL now that's creative
2000 LI for squading is a big brain move xD
Well, You really made me want to command! Great video, I really appreciate the work
I can now say I'm in one of Abree's videos, even if its not in the way I would have ever expected :')

Kinda surprised you didn't mention TacO, I always figured that would be a big help for commanders.

commander tags should be bound to achivements, maybe with multiple levels.
Interesting idea. Unfortunately, I think they're hitched to gold at this point.
Great video.

If you're just doing 1 thing in an already populated map, it isn't 3allt necessary.
Dear Abree,
Who is "Bell Idiot"?
Sincerely,
Your favorite
You probably knew him as "Coos" if you knew him.
Commander tag should be one copper
