Just a bit of fyi for you MC, when you are pulling the charging handle out to seat the blade it is a good idea to keep the button pressed in until the blade is all the way in otherwise the locking plunger will scratch the side of the blade.
Just got mine, took 24 days. It works better than my Halo. No blade play. Zero. And it locks up perfectly most of the time. Few misfires, but getting better. Beautiful scales. This is an awesome knife.
Including size limits. The Knife Rights app & site do list knuckle knives (the type with brass knuckles built in as a yellow most likley due to the carry staus of brass knuckles in the State). Also undetectible blades are listed as an own/carry yellow (a bit nebulous/not well defined). They do list caneswords as legal to own, illegal to carry, though going over the Statures a number of times I cannot locate how they are illegal. Everything elss though (including ballistic)...fair game!
I have a custom Halo 6 mirror polish prototype ( got it from the Paris Knive Show in 2017 for 1k , so really not hat bad for a custom ) , firing button on this Knife looks exactly the same to me . They changed it later because many people didnt like the safety button ( i personally have no clue why tho, i never had any problems with it) . This Knife also looks nice tho . 👍
@@metal_complex Yes i agree the button just looks "exactly" the same at first glance (and it probably is not much of a difference to deploy i guess) . I have no problem with it, Good Stuff ! All the best ! 👍
MC, I’d probably die of laughter if you did a knife review/TKG episode in exclusively your many mockery voices, especially the voice you pulled for the Maxace OTF LOL. Maybe next April fools?
My XL Voyager that I found outside after more than a year, thought it was gone forever. A little rusty along the edge, but sharpening took care of that! SS will rust, a little...
Who cares about the design shape. It's very nice. At the rate we are going, every shape is going to be created. One thing that annoys me about OTF knives is the basic rectangle handles that end up just looking cheap. I'm happy to see companies breaking away from the basic styles.
@@Nightmare-ku2zq Cool! The Manix 2 is probably my next buy. I'm keeping an eye on deals over the next few days. All the other options mentioned here are great too. The MSI and the Demko are pretty nice, and maybe would add more variety to your rotation.
Thats weird , never saw/handled a Halo that had any Blade play . I have 2 Marfione custom Halo 6 and a Clone from China , and they all have zero blade play . 🤔
The coupon is the same as the shipping price... but it ships from China? That's enough to make me not want to buy. I dunno what customs does. And this won't get here before Christmas?
So this fires harder than a Hydra? Really? Would like to see a comparison in your review. Personally I much prefer the design of the Hydra. Especially with its more ‘fool-proof’ safety & nice beefy pocket clip. The only thing I hate about it is the price… currently selling for the equivalent of $584 here in Europe (for a camo version). Yep… we get ripped off pretty nicely here 🙄
The Hydra is cool and all but IMO, the blade is way too short for this type of knife. I strongly prefer the blade size we have here and on the Halo VI.
Microtech dropped a video they are revamping the ultratech not quite released but they announced it. Just thought I'd bring it to your attention. If I find something cool or interesting I don't know your preferred way of letting you know. So I tend to bop in and tell you in the comments. I know you comunicate with some of the community through messages friends sending knives to review etc but I don't know how many you get and didn't want to add to it if you get an excessive amount of inbox messages. I figured comments would be better that you can gloss over if you want rather than dinging your notifications if it's something minor. Sorry if the block of text is a bit much something I got from being on the autism spectrum it's a bad habit to get carried away. Just wanted to apologize as it does tend to rub some people the wrong way
Does anyone know how these Chinese companies are getting past the import laws of automatic knives? Are they sending them over in parts and then assembling them here as a loophole? Or has that law changed in recent years that I was unaware of? There’s a few Chinese automatics I’ve been drooling over, but I don’t wanna pull the trigger on them and have the government make me the one idiot they decide to make an example out of for buying one.
If these knives were made in taiwan or almost any other country than China I would be all in. But im not about to fuck with a chinese rip off of a microtech.
Already looked it over. Its no more of a "ripoff" than the Heretic Hydra is. They didn't copy any line exactly. Even the button is slightly different. Inspired by? Definitely. Cloned? Absolutely not.
@DiegoMartinez-ou5wn no. He just didn't know what i meant. People will call anything clickbait if it isn't exactly what they think it's about. The knife is in the thumbnail. People can think whatever they want.

I learned that very quickly 😅
seems like something that would make me not buy it...
I'm not really an OTF guy myself, but the absolute pure glee in your voice when you first fired this one was fantastic. lol

This is an awesome knife.
It is indeed inconvenient to carry without a back clip. We have arranged to make some Kydex and will release news when it is completed.😁
Why not put a clip on it?
@@pandafox94Pretry dangerous even with the safety
Went all out and ordered the Timascus and Damascus version!
The guys who designed this knife ..
“ hey Jerry ? “
“Ya? “
“Grab the front suspension coil spring off your Honda”
“Why?”
“ I got an idea 💡 “ 😂

I discovered recently that 8 YEARS AGO all knives became legal to carry in WI, no limits.

It's in the same place but they were careful not to copy it exactly. You can easily compare and see for yourself

Very interested in picking one of these up. Safety looks like it works just like my Halo 6.
Just wish we got a non inlay version or id settle.for the trac tech
Holy moly that thing is crazy!! Love otf but single action I'm legit scared of lol. They are crazy strong.
MC, I’d probably die of laughter if you did a knife review/TKG episode in exclusively your many mockery voices, especially the voice you pulled for the Maxace OTF LOL. Maybe next April fools?
Not like a double action, looks like it would be easy to fire in the pocket, liking the single action.
Thinking about getting one…
good afternoon knife nerds, what are ya’ll flickin today?
Delica 4. It's my first Spyderco. Just got it recently and now I'm hooked. You?
My XL Voyager that I found outside after more than a year, thought it was gone forever.
A little rusty along the edge, but sharpening took care of that!
SS will rust, a little...
Protech Mordax and Vero fulcrum
Kirby Lambert Raine
Demko Shark Cub w/ OG scales
It would be cool if they made a half stop on the blade so you could retract half the blade if you didn't want the whole blade out.
I was watching in the bathroom stall and that "holy mackerel look at the size of that" was so loud 😂

What’s y’all’s opinion on best sub 200 dollar edc knife other that demco 20.5
Kizer sheepdog, or microtech msi or any hogue
Civivi Quibit, Civivi Vision FG, Civivi Elementum 2 Button lock, Kizer Sheepdog, etc
Some good Spydercos below $200: Manix 2, Para 3, Sage 5.
@@Luis_fmo I was looking at Manix 2 since it is similar to my other edc knives the para 2, and hinderer Eklipse

Great video man 👍
Hey complex did you hear about Chaves doing a integral TAK
I really want one just to play with but the weight would keep me from carrying it.
I ordered one immediately. I hope I like it better than my Halo, which also has a safety button, but lots of blade play.
Thats weird , never saw/handled a Halo that had any Blade play . I have 2 Marfione custom Halo 6 and a Clone from China , and they all have zero blade play . 🤔
I’ve daily carried my hydra 3 for almost a year never had any issues
BEAST, Thanks MC😎
Must have for any collector.... The Shock & Awe is off the scale So the MC code will get you free shipping.....lol
Thats what she said!!
That might just be my first OTF!
Did the import ban on autos get lifted or is maxace doing the sneaky thing where they have someone in USA do the final build?
That m390 marking on the blade really bothers me lol, please flip it around. Also needs a pocket clip.
there are still alot in stock on there website
Damn, I never thought about that, imagine getting your nuts pierced while OTF EDC-ing.
The coupon is the same as the shipping price... but it ships from China? That's enough to make me not want to buy. I dunno what customs does. And this won't get here before Christmas?
Yes, take my money please! Flicking empedc Nymble T2! Reminds me of the halo! I definitely need one in my life!
I love this!
Very cool knife
Soon as I saw that button I thought, why has no one does this b4.

No pocket clip, no sale. Same as all these Small fixed blades without clips. No thanks!
How did they get away with this? 😅

@@metal_complex Come on MC. It’s beyond the “inspired by” realm. They ripped off a design. Chinese companies don’t give a f---.
Anyone else still trying to figure out what was so UNPRECEDENTED here? It's an awesome knife but that click bait is extremely cringey.
It's quite literally unprecedented. This is the first time a Chinese company has ever made something like this. It's not clickbait.
