  • This is how to correctly calibrate a ReL Sub down to the song I listen to when I do it. This will also be one of our how to guides for FCAV when you buy a REL to make sure it's done properly and the method is down. I also go over how they hook up and that you can use a bunch of them. We go over using one , two or Three and how those lines hook up to the receiver or amp. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing! I had 2 REL Carbon Specials. John and the REL team are great. My journey, however, took me to JL Audio Fathom. Much smaller box and I found them very easy to integrate. The sound is absolutely amazing out of them and I prefer the XLR low level input. I’m sure there is some value though with the high level connection that REL recommends but I’m not sure if it’s a transformative difference between the two over preference and another connectivity option.

I love them both and also had the same journey. Two carbons to two fathom 113. But then again I had fathoms before too. If price is no object there is no substitute for Fathoms

Very cool, had rel 1205’s. And I switched to SVS PB 3000’s. I am having trouble getting used to the SVS subs. I got a good deal on the SVS but would like to get a pair of the 1510’s

How are the svs subs different if you don't mind my asking?

All great subs. None of them calibrate like this though...that's the other video I just made so stay tuned. This is for High Level Calibrations only from T series up

@@fishis14 the rel subs are smoother, just lack a bit low end. I use golden ear speakers with subs, so tuning is a challenge. The SVS have more bass, seem to be a bit boomy at times. SVS has way more output and is louder in the lower ranges. They shake my house if needed. I have the PB300’s and they are big and ported. I have the ports plugged, but the rel seemed to be cleaner. I need to work on the tuning and I have always preferred sealed, even in car audio.
