Could you come to Utah to assemble a building like this for me?
Thanks for your interest in our project but we only service certain parts of Texas.
Why are the bolts facing where if a bolt was to come loose or lose a nut for some reason the bolt would fall out.
I would imagine it would be far and in between if one ever came loose but curious what the reasoning is
Great Question! Believe it or not its actually not the first time its been brought up. There is technically no right or wrong answer. The engineered plans for this project specify the bolts should point upward as shown in the video.
The American Institute of Steel Construction states there is no requirement on the direction of the bolt. Ive linked the statement for you here if you would like to check it out!

Good eye tho! I can see your point of view. As contractors our job is to ensure the building is done according to the engineer plans.
Who would you recommend for steel buildings out here in Phoenix? Looking to do something similar but for residential.
Bolt up red iron structure is customizable, hence, this will be a perfect fit for residential use. We've never worked in Phoenix, AZ, thus, we are unable to recommend one.
So is a weld up less expensive than a bolt up. I would think the upfront cost for a weld up would be cheaper because it's not prefab....but I could be wrong. I'm looking to build a small church on a budget and just trying to see which avenue is more cost effective.
Thanks for your comment, Jay! Yes, weld up can be less expensive than bolt ups, but it can vary! If you would like to discuss your project with our sales team give us a call at (844)941-0999 or shoot us a email at quotes@wolfsteelbuildings.com.
Check out our video where we do a price comparison between Tubular Vs Red Iron- we touch base on weld up and bolt up pricing. Although the pricing on there is no longer valid I hope it helps you get an idea!
