I drew the manga called "Mega Man Gigamix", which was based on Capcom's Mega Man franchise.
このギガミックスのキャラクターでファンの方（パンマンさん）がニコニコ動画にて、素敵な動画を作成、投稿してくれました！
A fan of the manga series (Panman) took the characters from Gigamix and create a video which they uploaded to NikoNiko Douga.

@Andoc you know Capcom is testing the waters to see if megaman is big enough to warrant new things due to those collections, the sheer amount given in the 2000's is what killed it so moderation is what they are doing and likely will be doing for a long time so as to not cause burnout

Okay, but how many people know that this is is a fanmade carbon-copy of the Namco x Capcom opening, shot-to-shot, but featuring Megaman characters?

Its more than that, each shot is also a reference to something from the Megaman megamix and gigamix mangas. Theres alot of anime opening parodies out there, you should see the smash bros ones of sould eater and attack on titan.
I never knew. But my god does the Mega Man version fit so well.

I was sitting here like "Who is this weird green-haired OC robot?" and then I saw all the others and I was like "OH SHIT THAT'S TERRA"
I knew it was one of the Stardroids, but was forgetting the name because I have very little experience with that particular entry compared to the rest.
Ironically, he was actually one of the easiest Star Droids to beat despite being their leader, due to his glaringly obvious weakness once you entered the battlefield.
Who’s Terra?
The green-haired robot in the thumbnail. One of the ancient Star Droids that Wily excavated, and who served as their leader. In the original Japanese release of the game though he was named Earth.

When a fan animation looks better than the real cartoon
Because it has an OVA level base to work off of so no need to storyboard a thing so all that’s left is to take every frame and break it down into base elements and then draw the mega mix style characters over it... still impressive however is less work than one would think mostly due to people not knowing this is just the opening of Namco X Capcom but with mega mix characters drawn over it essentially

This is the hypest thing on the internet to ever exist.
This is Mega man and plants vs zombies, Kunio kun. This plants and Light Robot masters 1,4,6,9 that and Zombies, shadow plants, mints and Wily Robot Masters for me.
The Robot Masters helping to combat this threat and later struggling to get back up and continue to fight is hype as hell.

Well this animation is just Namco X Capcom's opening painted over, which is where all the poses came from. Yamato Man's pose is Felicia's.

Trivia for those who care: The first 6 robot masters as well as all Dr.Light creations have an "R" on their body. That "R" stand for "Right", as in "Dr.Right". That is the original Japanese name for Dr. Thomas Light.
The first 8 robot masters, if you count the 2 later ones, Oil man and Time man.
@101571527604802151397 Well yes, but i mainly talk about Ariga's design.
Time Man and Oil Man is more like filler characters for that game than anything really. Since it totally break the continuity of the "Numbers" and the original timeline.
Isn't it also true that Dr. Right was based on Thomas Edison, and Dr. Wily was based on Albert Einstein (Given that Right's first name is Thomas, and Wily's first name is Albert, and the characters are similar in appearance to their namesakes)? The way I heard it, Wily was made to resemble Einstein because Einstein's mathematical works pretty much paved the way for the first nuclear weapons to be built, and considering the first two nukes ever used were dropped on Japan, the Japanese audience for Rockman was being given a very cut and dry "evil" antagonist character in Wily.

Why hasn't the MegaMan Megamix series been produced into an anime. It's probably the best story of Megaman out there.
Your guess is as good as mine.... And a lot of studios would probably love to jump at the possibility of making a megaman anime.
What I would give for an anime adaption of Megamix/Gigamix like this.

I was 10 years old when I saw this for the first time. I watched it everytime I came back home from school and I was kinda sad because I was the only girl at school that knew MegaMan. I have a really nice memory of this video and this series, it still makes me happy after 8 years💙

This... this... this, this, this, this, THIS... is one of the reasons that I'm still glad to be a loyal Rockman/Megaman fan from as far back as I can remember. I may not know the future that the franchise may hold, but damn it to hell, I'll support Megaman until I can't do it no more. Beautiful video. Simply beautiful.

A friend of mine lent me his copies of Mega Mix and Giga Mix, and I just finished reading the last volume today. I’ll admit that when it comes to the Blue Bomber, I am nowhere as familiar with Classic as I am with Starforce or Battle Network. But there’s absolutely no denying Hitoshi Ariga really did something special here with his incredible take on these characters, and there’s a darn good reason I was listening to Brave New World on repeat throughout the final battle. To Hitoshi Ariga and the one originally responsible for this amazing alternate version to the Namco X Capcom opening over on nicovideo, all I have left to say is this: thank you. Thank you both so much.

Ok... does anyone else feel like we got robbed of the greatest video-game based series ever imagined?.... just seeing this has me foaming at the mouth as a writer.... I already had an idea similar to this to connect all of it... but Iadmit, even my wildest imagination wouldn't have created this... even knowing the original opening for years...
I'm internally begging for scraps at this point. I would pay big money just to see ANYTHING anime that's mega man related, preferably from the X series, but the classic series would work just as fine.
