  • In this video, we meet up with Outback EV Hunter ‪@outbackev-hunter6035‬ from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
    It was his wild idea that we embark on a 35,000+ km figure-eight journey around Australia. With nearly a decade in the EV world, he has extensive experience driving and charging in the Outback. He played a major role in establishing the first "network" of charging stops in central Australia and continues to do so today.
    Ever heard of Google's Project Loon? Or a electric-powered and solar-powered people mover from the Sydney Olympics? Join us as Hunter shares his passion for repurposing batteries, debunks EV fire myths, and gives us the lowdown on Outback charging - including the new NRMA fast chargers!
    We even get a sneak peek at some of his projects, like the resurrected "Solar Baby" and a unique battery swap idea. If you're curious about EVs in the bush, this is the video for you!
    Join us as he discusses Outback charging and these passions:
    * Google Project Loon and its connection to Alice Springs
    * The Sydney 2000 Olympics and the Frazer-Nash Solar Baby people mover
    * Repurposing batteries
    * A future where outback charging is not reliant on diesel
    * EV battery fires - myths and facts (see: www.evfiresafe...)
