Fernando Sor was a Spanish classical guitarist and composer from the Romantic period. Best known for writing solo guitar music, he also composed an opera, three symphonies, guitar duos, works for piano, songs, a Mass - and at least two successful ballets!
He also contributed greatly to classical guitar pedagogy by writing didactic pieces for players of all levels, which are still a reference today.
Didactic or virtuosic, Sor's music always has an elegant, delicate character that makes even his most easy-looking pieces a real challenge to bring to life.

Bravo, Antoine (and Siccas)! This may be my favorite performance ever of this beautiful Sor piece. Nuanced, sensitive playing and dynamics from start to finish! I'm studying this piece with my instructor at the moment, and I'll certainly return to your version for inspiration and practice-motivation! Thank you!
