    Determining the valve clearance on a Yamaha Raptor 700 is a critical step when you’re tuning your engine rebuilding your engine, or in our case, building one from scratch. In this video, we’ll show you how to find top dead center on your Raptor, and then we’ll move to the valves. The valve clearances are as follows:
    Yamaha Raptor 700 intake valve clearance: .10mm with a tolerance of .09mm-.11mm
    Yamaha Raptor 700 exhaust valve clearance: .18mm with a tolerance of .17mm-.19mm
    We’ll use feeler gauges and a tappet adjustment wrench to get our valves into Yamaha’s specifications.

    I think it would be informing to see a build series just like this with a yfz450 motor.

    If I adjust the timing chain, do I have to adjust the valve ?!
    I have a 2018 Raptor 700 and I just saw that the lines are not parallel to each other.
    And I don't have any problems with the engine running properly and there are no symptoms whatsoever

    On a utility would the valves being off cause you not being able to pull the motor over by hand ?

    Las válvulas de admisión y escape se calibran en una sola puesta a tiempo o hay que girar nuevamente el motor. Para calibrar las de escapé

    Hey i bought a 734 kit for my 2018 raptor the mechanic is saying the piston is touching the valves what can i do to fix it ?? I had to go get my bike he obviously don’t know what he’s doing I can’t trust him

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  3 роки тому

      one quick thing i can think of is TDC (top dead center) may not be set correctly? if so you could possibly have a kit for another engine perhaps? i believe the 734 kit is a big bore kit and not a stroker one. unless you have the wrong kit or valve-train issues their shouldn't be a issue with it

    My raptor keeps making a noice, I adjusted the valves how you said and its making it worse. Any thing you recomend me?

    • @PartzillaParts
      @PartzillaParts  5 років тому

      If it's a loud tapping noise, you either need to adjust them again or perhaps new valves if they are past tolerances

      I'm assuming you have fixed this by now since your comment is 6 months old lol so was it a stretched chain or did it jump a tooth?

    • @rednecknation3830
      @rednecknation3830 3 роки тому

      The mark on the cam is normally a tiny but to the left when on Tdc nothing to worry about as long as it’s not more than 1/8-1/4 inch away
