800 is a DAMN tough race. I was a 10.7 100-m, 21.0 200-m best (good enough for college level) but could seldom get under 50 in 400 and 800 was DEATH to me. The idea of a 60 year old running 2.12 is just insane. I can barely run the 400 under 2 mins now. Just amazing!

ahhsnap _xbox yea but to say that none can would be a lie. “Proper practice” refers to consistent everyday running and recovery. A 16 year old could definitely half ass through a season and run 2:10
Unless you walk, you would at most have two laps to go (400 m). Doing 2.15 on 200 m for one lap (it's four in total) is not even a brisk walk. Jogging at 5 min 37.5 sek/km pace would get you to 400m. Still they would have ran double that speed, lapping you almost twice!
Ridiculous to compare a younger professional athlete like Kipchoge with those amateur senior (masters). Not sure what you wanna point out with your statement.
@@Vivungisport I've never compared these athletes to Kipchoge be clear, I'm one of those who stayed up all night to see the Monza test (as Italian), or I stayed home from school to see his marathons and as an athlete is one of my absolute favorites for 3/4 years now, I was simply specifying that what the user said before is not mathematically correct.
@@Vivungisport Who are you to dictate what people can write or not in comment ? Kipchoge is not so young, he is not 35 years old you know. More 40, 42 or something. Really impressive watching 60-year old men run and kick like this
Negative splits all the race long and last 200m in 31"74 at 60 years plus.... Incredible !
Imagine being that fit at 60 years plus, must be an awesome feeling!!
it is.
Im 5 years younger and 30 secs slower
Awesome speed and negative split from all of them 👍🏃🏼♂️

It’s incredible how they managed to run such a huge negative split at that pace for their age

798 meters Joe...you get a gold metal for that distance...another for a great swan dive between 798 and 800 meters.

Great race well done Joe Gough and Dave Wilcock!
man, hat off. those strides look like a 30's instead of 60's
60 years of age might not be so old but they ran faster than me a 26 years of age!
also they have amazing endurance
Oh my gosh, I'm really jealous about those gentleman, I'm 27 and kinda fat, just look at them, I feel motivated!
Wow 31 segundos el último 200m!

Irishman wanted that gold badly enough to dive at the tape ...French red wine prevails!
I could run faster than these guys------ when I was 19 😇.

So hot
Representing this little island brilliantly the past few years.Well done Joe
Talk about fighting Irish! damn nice run to all of them. my fastest 800 is 2.22
Its all about habit and consistency even a 16 year old boy can't run this fast without proper practice
