This is honestly getting old. It’s no longer a “you should” or “they could” do better, but they NEED to do better. Like come on Hasbro! If they’re going to up the prices the quality needs to go up too. The fuzzy lines and pins are problems that should’ve been solved a while ago. Same with gummy joints. Good review though!
I swear the only reason they do this is because collectors will still buy ML anyways. It's not like most ML collectors would switch to Mcfarlane anytime soon so they just keep pumping these out while raising the price and lowering the quality.
@@UnparalleledUniverse now I'm more selective with both. In Mcfarlane's case it's usually because the figure is just not appealing but with Marvel Legends it's because the prices are just getting crazy even if the figure looks great.
You're not being overly critical. If Hasbro is going to increase the price by so much, then they also need to increase the quality to match. This figure is a standalone repaint; There is no excuse here, not even budget. For the same price or lower you can get much better figures, Spider-Man or not.
In terms of paint, past a certain price, it should be flawless. Thats a valid critique to me. In terms of the pins on the joints I really don't see why people complain so hard about them. Maybe I've gotten used to them but they're nowhere close to the eye sore other people make them out to be. I can almost completely tune them out visually.

Which I personally find to be a valid stance to take.
@@xeanheart Well not every figure had butterfly joints when they first came out. It would seriously delay releases if they went back and changed every body mold for every little tweak to the design. Also these figures might not be coming out in the order that they were made. They could've designed this ff before these pinless joints were even a thing. I too like the way the pinless joints look but given how new they are you can't expect every figure to have them. Butterfly joints have been out for a while and not every figure has those.

@@xeanheart I didn't day they shouldn't fix shit. I'm saying it's unreasonable for them to delay the release of every figure they're making just to give them ALL pinless joints. They have deadlines too. The quicker they can make figures the quicker they can start on the next few waves. Also as an Artist sometimes you do want quantity over quality. There was an experiment done where one group was told to take as many photos as possible keeping in mind composition, lighting, and color, and the other group was told to take ONE perfect photo. The group that took multiple photos ended up taking way better ones because they didn't waste their time futzing around perfecting one. If they futz around trying to keep up with the new figure technology and try putting it all in one figure they end up wasting time and releasing a worse figure. The best thing they can do is just release the figure with those minute flaws and try again some other time if people ask for it.

Yeah I canceled it too. I never was that into this version anyway, what I really want is the actual FF suit. But the poor paint and gummy joints is just inexcusable at this point. We know they’re capable of doing better-they’re just cutting corners
I agree with you 100%. I don’t think you’re being overly critical because hasbros antics like lazy paint isn’t tolerable anymore because of the dramatic price increase. Especially with a anniversary figure like this which is supposed to be higher in quality. What a disappointment.
Honestly, I would've loved for them to make this figure on the superior octopus body. I just feel like they abandoned that body. I also would love for them to start using that buck more
With the pins not matching the box, hasbro has drawn attention to a new problem with plastic free boxes that I had never thought of: the company straight up lying. They must know that stuff like the pins matters to collectors, the ones dishing out ~$30 for these, so when they put the figure in a pose where you can see black pins and then betray the box render (not art, it’s not even like a comic still. It’s straight up a 3d render so it shouldn’t be inaccurate to the figure) it’s very scummy. The existence of the “stealth version” is enough of a low blow to take money from us, on top of the price raises. Then the bad paint and deceptive box is even worse. They’re cheating us, aside from the actual product, by lying like this. I was never worried about scalpers switching out figures or potential qc issues, but this is a whole new issue.
Yup, they are basically hiding the real product now and show the renders/prototypes to deceive us. It's really awful when you realize how different are the colors on the Iron Spider arms and legs compared to the torso and what you expect to get is the metallic red tones shown in the box. We don't get to see the product, we don't get to see if the paint is ok, if the accessories are complete and the price keeps increasing. Huge scam.
In all honesty, I’m probably gonna quit on Legends after this year. The prices keep going up yet the figures aren’t really that great with tons of reuse. And that Spidey 3 Pack being $90 is overkill. If I can get 4 unique DC Multiverse figures each with new sculpt AND a 9 inch BAF also with new sculpt all for $100, why would I buy a $90 Legends 3 pack with only 2 new sculpts??

The last time I've seen a figure this bad was a used/pre owned onslaught wave captain america. If hasbros going to raise the prices, I want more accessories, better paint, less reuse, etc. This is getting to become a very underwhelming hobby.
Idk if you like dc but the McFarlane line is killing it imo, cheap figs around 20$ for the standard ones good paint good sculpts. Sometimes a little loose or tight but pretty good deals for the amount of plastic you get :)
@@UnparalleledUniverse are you talking about the ankles and wrist? If so I get it, they are updating the ankles for the better articulation and sculpt. The wrist are kind of preference, the old ones are better for articulation while the new ones make the sculpt more complete

For real though, I know a lot of people in this community hate being negative or critical, but you guys have some pull with Hasbro and it's good that you're raising awareness. Hasbro has been had this line for over a decade and these are issues that are inexcusable today. It would be unacceptable if this figure was $20, but it wasn't even the new normal price of $25 but this figure cost $27. Just crazy. It's a shame and it shouldn't happen.
I made a custom of this figure a while back, and I’ll tell ya…. The paint work wasn’t easy… so many straight lines (white and black) + there’s paint all throughout the body … Hasbro could have done this a little cleaner and measured out where the lines meet on the thighs. But for what it is, it looks pretty cool. Good review .. love the background.

I opened havoc from the new X-Men wave and he was the gummiest figure I've ever had in my life. If they continue to be gummy that will be the last straw for me because the figures are literally warping from just standing on the shelf.

Gummy joints have been a noticeable problem with most of the newer figures, includes the retro symbiote and retro ben reilly, the joints are gummier compared to retro spiderman for some reason even tho they are the same body mold
The rubber joints are casted. Different production run may have mixtures of different chemical properties. The flat out answer is Hasbro don’t give a shit.
I also passed, like most of us. What angered me the most was how the paint on the pictures made us believe he was using the new body. A line at the diaphragm, a line at the toes, here you go, nice illusion...
I have painted joint pins to make them match the limb colour on other figures. Even filled in the peg holes when they're recessed. My main bugbear is the bendy flimsy joints. My Iron Man 2020, the hip peg and the knee joint sheared off on the left leg. Black Series Jynn Erso, left knee joint is about to shear off too. I really wanted the D'Spayre figure from the Rintrah baf wave, but that and Sleepwalker (which is also too small) both have gummy knees. The only way I'd get it is if it was cheap and I could swap parts onto another sturdier appropriate bod. I'll only buy Legends that are on the newer moulds and have sturdy plastic.

I don’t think it will be a trend honestly. If you look at all the Spidey 60th anniversary stuff, MOST of it is awesome. This one was a huge failure for sure though.

i had the D'Spayre figure from MoM Wave and man the plastic on the limbs is so freakin soft that i could disassemble the fig with the pins without using hotwater
Honestly, QOC. That’s all we’re even asking for. No pegs would be great but they should be doing, and somehow still haven’t despite being a huge company, is consistently good quality prints, moulds, joints, etc. I don’t mind reused too much (emphasis on the ‘too), but when what you’re getting is objectively worse than it’s previous releases, something has gone wrong
Sorry fellow collectors but I'm coming to an end with Hasbro. They are just downright getting greedy from paying for haslabe and stating the no plastic windows but we are getting mix with figures box's as well as high price for Marvel and Star Wars at Target and Walmart, nope, I just don't go well for me personally. I just don't see the price for the product.
...so if it had a clear package you could see that the paint is off and choose another... so now you cant... idk think they will take a refund for paint apps. At the end of yesterday's Hasbro livestream, Dwight showed off a very familiar head in a jar. This is a character from Future Foundation. I think we're going to get either a Future Foundation wave, or a box set. Spidey and most of the FF will only require repaints. In fact, the only retooling they'll need is Ben's suited body. This might clear up enough space in the budget for a new Dragon Man, or they could really cheap out, and only give us the four. That head suggests otherwise though. 😉

At this point I think they just don't did have the mold free for production. Which is I think they have the Amazing Fantasy body getting so much use. We'll probably see it reused, but right now, they opened pandora's box.
It's unbelievable. I don't know why Hasbro can't just mold the plastic in white and paint the parts black over it. It makes a lot more sense and is much easier to do. To counter any argument about cost efficiency, it's would probably cost just as much if not cheaper to use black paint than use white over black, since it will be less coats of paint.
The 3.75 versions of both suits are some of my favorite MU figs, The eyes on this needed to bulge out more, I hope they retool the head for the white version. Sucks about this guy, but I do like the inverse suit more so this was a pass to begin with, I am a Spidey freak but these prices and just like you say, too many flaws for the price. Awesome review
Yea nah, can’t buy this. They need to retire a lot of molds. The only ones they should keep are the pinless ones. Only pinless figures are worth buying at this point. Toybiz Spider-Man classics had all pinless joints 20 years ago!

Thank you for keeping it real! There are a lot of fanboys taking any garbage from Hasbro. Prices are rising and the quality keep decaying. Repaints are sloppy, no accessories and for $30? I don’t think so. It’s good to vocal this so we get what we deserve for what we are paying for.
It's incredibly hard to get excited about a new Spider-man figure when it doesn't use one of three "Superior" Spider-man bodies. If they don't have the mold to use, don't make a Spider-man figure until they can.
it is sad that marvel legends and hasbro deceive us with their policy of caring for the environment and continue to sell toys with low quality and a very poorly applied paint, it happened to me with wolverine animated and venom 2 pack and I think it's a joke raise prices when they are supposed to be saving money on packaging and end up selling the same low quality shit and even sadder that no youtuber has the balls to tell them that their products are often shit apart from managing quality control by area since here in Mexico we get the worst figures high prices and even so buying in the USA you run the risk of getting a bad piece that at least in brands like Mafex or Figuarts give you spare parts and Hasbro does not!

what's with the gummy joints? A couple figures I got recently have been like that and that is the number one thing that will absolutely make quick collecting. I feel like the figures are being made with such cheap plastic that they're not even going to last 5 to 10 years on my shelf. some of my figures literally have legs that are warping just from existing!

I’m a huge Spider-Man collector and I usually wouldn’t hesitate to buy a new Spider-Man figure from hasbro but this is a HUGE pass and probably the biggest let down in this entire 60th anniversary
I don't know if it's a common issue but if you line up the sculpt on the legs of the retro spiderman the foot and the knees look stupid af, overall I think legends are ever rated specially now

My mom gave this figure for my birthday and for me it's OK, is not the worse figure by any mean but is not the best, i would recomend this if you found it really really cheap.
I'm not happy with what hasbro's been doing. I understand they make figures as Disney/Marvel have in their agenda, but if they really wanted to reduce plastics, they should make a definitive figure, to avoid making a second one with "new tooling" because they wanted to "correct" the flaws that the previous one had. Also, why not making them worth getting? They say they hear the fans, but either the fans don't say anything about what they don't like about the figures enough or they just don't want to really hear them and they go marketing all the way. Either way, this will continue, the prices will continue to increase, and they are not going to give us more accessories or BAF parts just so they reduce costs.

Is it really the Bullseye body? When you put it between the Cyborg and the Scarlet Spider it looked more slender than the other two. It's really weird.
Bro for a second there, i thought I was listening to an Anthonyscustoms review video. Then it got better. Lol! the body works. I feel like the gummy legs are hit or miss on all figures. Some have them, and some on the same figure dont.
Old body molds are bad enough, but re-using heads is cheap and lazy. It annoyed me they gave ben reilly the romita head, making the retro less unique. Now this one has the symbiote head too.
You should expect this from Haabro. Price increases and same poor quality. Too bad because I really wanted this figure but those sloppy paint apps won't look good when doing toy photography.

Such a shame, Future Foundation's a killer design but Hasbro dropped the ball. Half of this figure's problems could've been solved with using the RYV body, but as prices get higher the quality should reflect it. Normally I don't care about pins but in a case like this with contrasting colors, literally exact opposite colors, pinless joints are essential. Also shoddy paint and bare bones accessories? At least have wall-crawling hands, something Hasbro almost always skimps on. I'm not even mad, I'm just disappointed. I get that QC issues are the nature of the beast and something you have to accept, but it's getting harder and harder to gloss over little flaws with the increased prices. For $20 it's whatever, for almost $30 when you add taxes and such, unacceptable. Great review bud

I agree that the problem is we keep buying. But I disagree on the McFarlane aspect, they have a few cool figures but most are not very good

I like DC I just disagree on the quality of McFarlane sculpts and the articulation is very poor in most cases.

Sup Wade! Thanks for your video and advice on this Future Foundation stealth suit Spidey. I was on the fence on this figure, even though I have it on preorder. I'm most likely going to cancel my preorder and see if I can buy when it's discounted.
I opened havoc from the new X-Men wave and he was the gummiest figure I've ever had in my life. If they continue to be gummy that will be the last straw for me because the figures are literally warping from just standing on the shelf.

Gummy joints have been a noticeable problem with most of the newer figures, includes the retro symbiote and retro ben reilly, the joints are gummier compared to retro spiderman for some reason even tho they are the same body mold
The rubber joints are casted. Different production run may have mixtures of different chemical properties. The flat out answer is Hasbro don’t give a shit.
I also passed, like most of us. What angered me the most was how the paint on the pictures made us believe he was using the new body. A line at the diaphragm, a line at the toes, here you go, nice illusion...
I have painted joint pins to make them match the limb colour on other figures. Even filled in the peg holes when they're recessed.
My main bugbear is the bendy flimsy joints. My Iron Man 2020, the hip peg and the knee joint sheared off on the left leg. Black Series Jynn Erso, left knee joint is about to shear off too.
I really wanted the D'Spayre figure from the Rintrah baf wave, but that and Sleepwalker (which is also too small) both have gummy knees. The only way I'd get it is if it was cheap and I could swap parts onto another sturdier appropriate bod.
I'll only buy Legends that are on the newer moulds and have sturdy plastic.

I don’t think it will be a trend honestly. If you look at all the Spidey 60th anniversary stuff, MOST of it is awesome. This one was a huge failure for sure though.

i had the D'Spayre figure from MoM Wave and man the plastic on the limbs is so freakin soft that i could disassemble the fig with the pins without using hotwater

Honestly, QOC. That’s all we’re even asking for. No pegs would be great but they should be doing, and somehow still haven’t despite being a huge company, is consistently good quality prints, moulds, joints, etc.
I don’t mind reused too much (emphasis on the ‘too), but when what you’re getting is objectively worse than it’s previous releases, something has gone wrong

They are just downright getting greedy from paying for haslabe and stating the no plastic windows but we are getting mix with figures box's as well as high price for Marvel and Star Wars at Target and Walmart, nope, I just don't go well for me personally.

At the end of yesterday's Hasbro livestream, Dwight showed off a very familiar head in a jar. This is a character from Future Foundation. I think we're going to get either a Future Foundation wave, or a box set. Spidey and most of the FF will only require repaints. In fact, the only retooling they'll need is Ben's suited body. This might clear up enough space in the budget for a new Dragon Man, or they could really cheap out, and only give us the four. That head suggests otherwise though. 😉

It's unbelievable. I don't know why Hasbro can't just mold the plastic in white and paint the parts black over it. It makes a lot more sense and is much easier to do. To counter any argument about cost efficiency, it's would probably cost just as much if not cheaper to use black paint than use white over black, since it will be less coats of paint.
The 3.75 versions of both suits are some of my favorite MU figs, The eyes on this needed to bulge out more,
I hope they retool the head for the white version.

Thank you for keeping it real! There are a lot of fanboys taking any garbage from Hasbro. Prices are rising and the quality keep decaying. Repaints are sloppy, no accessories and for $30? I don’t think so. It’s good to vocal this so we get what we deserve for what we are paying for.

It's incredibly hard to get excited about a new Spider-man figure when it doesn't use one of three "Superior" Spider-man bodies. If they don't have the mold to use, don't make a Spider-man figure until they can.
it is sad that marvel legends and hasbro deceive us with their policy of caring for the environment and continue to sell toys with low quality and a very poorly applied paint, it happened to me with wolverine animated and venom 2 pack and I think it's a joke raise prices when they are supposed to be saving money on packaging and end up selling the same low quality shit and even sadder that no youtuber has the balls to tell them that their products are often shit apart from managing quality control by area since here in Mexico we get the worst figures high prices and even so buying in the USA you run the risk of getting a bad piece that at least in brands like Mafex or Figuarts give you spare parts and Hasbro does not!

what's with the gummy joints? A couple figures I got recently have been like that and that is the number one thing that will absolutely make quick collecting. I feel like the figures are being made with such cheap plastic that they're not even going to last 5 to 10 years on my shelf. some of my figures literally have legs that are warping just from existing!

I’m a huge Spider-Man collector and I usually wouldn’t hesitate to buy a new Spider-Man figure from hasbro but this is a HUGE pass and probably the biggest let down in this entire 60th anniversary

I don't know if it's a common issue but if you line up the sculpt on the legs of the retro spiderman the foot and the knees look stupid af, overall I think legends are ever rated specially now

I expected a lot more from this figure as well. Paint on mine wasn't great, gummy joints, warped legs. Sucks man it seems the paint is way worse on yours than mine was. I scored it way too high in my review for some reason. Maybe I just get overly excited opening new figs Lol. missed the pegs being a different color on the box, nice catch!

My mom gave this figure for my birthday and for me it's OK, is not the worse figure by any mean but is not the best, i would recomend this if you found it really really cheap.

I'm not happy with what hasbro's been doing. I understand they make figures as Disney/Marvel have in their agenda, but if they really wanted to reduce plastics, they should make a definitive figure, to avoid making a second one with "new tooling" because they wanted to "correct" the flaws that the previous one had. Also, why not making them worth getting? They say they hear the fans, but either the fans don't say anything about what they don't like about the figures enough or they just don't want to really hear them and they go marketing all the way. Either way, this will continue, the prices will continue to increase, and they are not going to give us more accessories or BAF parts just so they reduce costs.

Old body molds are bad enough, but re-using heads is cheap and lazy. It annoyed me they gave ben reilly the romita head, making the retro less unique. Now this one has the symbiote head too.

Such a shame, Future Foundation's a killer design but Hasbro dropped the ball. Half of this figure's problems could've been solved with using the RYV body, but as prices get higher the quality should reflect it.
Normally I don't care about pins but in a case like this with contrasting colors, literally exact opposite colors, pinless joints are essential. Also shoddy paint and bare bones accessories? At least have wall-crawling hands, something Hasbro almost always skimps on.
I'm not even mad, I'm just disappointed. I get that QC issues are the nature of the beast and something you have to accept, but it's getting harder and harder to gloss over little flaws with the increased prices. For $20 it's whatever, for almost $30 when you add taxes and such, unacceptable.
