When comparing Iron Spidey to the Renew Your Vows 2pk, even though its a bit smaller than the Renew Your Vows Spidey, the way I see it, this is a younger Peter. The Renew Your Vows story is an alternate reality where he’s a tad older and has a family, so having him a bit bulkier and bigger from his years of experience I guess kinda works.
Oh yeah for sure! That’s a good way to look at it.
But RYV Spidey's physique is the same as Retro Spidey and Retro Symbiote Spide. The fact that you can pass off RYV Spidey as 616 Peter is even one of the reasons Hasbro released it the way they did.

It's incredible how just a little bit of unique sculpting goes such a long way. I get that every comic character can't have unique sculpting, but man, that alone just elevates this figure do far above the average base bodied repaint.
The figure looks really good and I hope it does well so that Hasbro can finally start making more Heroic Age heroes again

Well Two out of Every 3 or 4 McFarlane DC Figures have New Sculptung. Ohhh my bad you mean Cheap Azz- scam you and act like their hard _Marvel Legends_ figures. In that case, YES your right most of their figures Don't have unique sculpting. Good thing their prices increased! Which is cause All the Extras we get esp on the Retro cards............

The lack of gold paint in the spider legs and the inconsistency of reds on the figure is not good for the prices they're charging but dope figure

I think they really need to make sure things are tight at this price point. I agree with you those issues shouldn't be there but the inconsistency of the reds wasn't really noticeable to me....but I agree at this price, things need to be near perfect.

@@UnparalleledUniverse it's actually very noticeable with the lighting in your review around the 5min mark. you can see the metallic reflection only shows on the torso where the arms, legs, and head is reflects only dark red.
Holding the figure in my hand…it’s not that noticeable but if you feel like it is and it’s not worth buying, I suggest you pass
Was somehow blessed to accidentally find this figure in my local target. After playing around with it I realized that the spider legs can actually swivel at each hinge which gives just a few more options for posing.
I accidentally found this at my local Target and I almost overlooked it because of the new packaging I wasn't familiar with
I'm the only one who thinks we need the Identity Crisis ones? Ricochet, Dusk, Prodigy and Hornet. Those can translate to action figure pretty good.

Honestly, the best way to keep the packaging and the window is to have like a small window that takes up half of the front of the packaging, then have cardboard as what holds the figure.
Having the half window on the front would help avoid more figure swaps, and then have like a 3d art and then the name of the figure on the bottom half of the front
I know this is supposed to be comic accurate, but man I would have loved this just that bit more if it had 4 legs like in the movies. It makes more sense from the whole spider idea as well as practicality.

The 4th spider leg you can attach to the revoltech is also accurate to the comics! The suit got an upgrade shortly after it’s debut in the comics allowing for a fourth leg.
I might be wrong but I’m pretty sure the 4 legged version was used more than the 3 legged one was

9:52 I agree, we need a new Extremis Iron Man, I think the suit made a comeback in the last few years when Iron Man was with the Avengers with Ghost Rider, Captain Marvel, and Blade.

Extremis is one of the best Iron Man Armors...Hasbro is hating on it.

Should have used rachet joints so his weight could be supported for poses .
That would have helped for sure but as is they do a pretty good job
I like to see additional heads and hands, but they did create brand new articulated waldos/mechanical arms. That’s a pretty major accessory. The figure looks great though.
Solid review. Criticisms where warranted, but genuine excitement about positive aspects. I can’t wait to get this figure, personally. I’ve said it before, but I like the reflective base in the review station… might steal that idea for photos.👍

I agree, the waist articulation should be updated to be as on GI Joe, it's something they should be able to start implementing, but this release is on the right track! I love you used the caps finger to point something again hahaha great review as always!
I wish marvel legends would eventually have the same articulations as the gijoes. Side to side torso bend is crucial for character like spiderman.

A lot of other reviewers are saying the same thing, hell the spider legs and the emblem along with the gauntlets are a different color🤔🤦🏽♂️ that's why I appreciate the reviewers who call out hasbros and other toy companies in our community.

Damn the new carport box there’s how can we tell that the Figure has the right paint job? I never open my fingers I collect my fingers I keep them inside there Original packages, I must buy all those figures for my collections.
Brilliant review!! Today my Iron Spidy arrived I'm really happy with the figure but unfortunately the prices in Europe are skyrocketing 47 euros including shipping that's the equivalent of 48.16 dollars and I have to say that's really a lot for just two pairs of interchangeable hands..

I don’t know how Hasbro just comes up with ridiculous prices for some of these figures now.. I understand a larger build a figure type figure for $40.. but some of these basic Legends for $35 is outrageous imo

I didn’t realize it had sculpt on the gold! Figured it was just paint. So its not the exact same mold as the amazing fantasy 15 spidey.

This is one of those designs that lends itself to action figure form so well and it looks great, as you showed many times that torso detail is crisp!
For me its an easy skip though, I'm not super attached to this design and I'm trying to stick to only having one version of each character when it comes to Marvel Legends to help budget myself. A classic red and blue look and the symbiote suit is all I need for Spidey, and the Renew Your Vows set and the retro wave covered those for me.
As for the all-cardboard packaging I'm not against it, but I really wish they'd make it look better for the Marvel Legends figures. To me the image of the figure just floating against the blue background is kind of ugly, and it makes it at times look more like a digital render than an actual photo of what you're buying. That vintage collection Boba Fett with the full on ACBA style shot in a desert set I think is the best way to go, that feels like a throwback to old school toys where they had no other option for promo images other than to place them in an actual built set. Plus McFarlane's been doing that with some of the card art for the DC figures, and the Classified Series has done that plenty of times with their promo photos.

I feel like hasbro really has to step its game up to keep raising prices like they are, and tbh I don’t think they’ve shown us that. To me you might as well skip out on a few marvel legends and just get a Mafex or a more premium higher quality figure.

I think it depends. Mine is holding up fine but I did hear about some one else's breaking on them.

Wish they found a better way of presentation of the figure and accessories when u at least open the box. When I open T and see two trash bags almost like a body bag it has no joy in opening the figure. They def got to come up with a better way of doing it

There is a slight difference in color on mine but I didnt even notice until someone brought it to my attention.

Hasbro does a really good job with metallic paint but they almost never do it, Everytime they're using gold plastic like does leg's

They should put the side comic art on the front if they're not going to have a window just like their generations transformers boxes. Put that lame render on the back of the box, putting it on the front makes it look cheap. This figure looks great tho, I loved the iron spider when it first appeared during the Civil War run and that art got me back interested in comics and collecting marvel legends. I had the old one from spiderman classics and it's a floppy mess now.
The spider legs/arms he has on his back CAN'T be removed, right??

Couldn’t Hasbro just make the boxes like transformers figures and cut a small window to show the face of the figure at least. Not big enough to pull it out but big enough to know the figure is in the box and to know the face paint is ok at least 🧐🤯😤

The plastic free gives opportunity for more art work . I also don’t have too much of an issue because when you order online it’s not like you can see if the figure you’re ordering has any bad paint apps or if it was swapped out.

Definitely Want Miles Morales Spider-Gwen Spider-Ham Spider-Woman Spider-Man Nori And 2099 Comic Figures Needs A 2.0
The waldoes are my only real hang up with this figure. They look cheap like they're from a kids toy. Mustard yellow plastic and half the joints. Really detracts from a near perfect figure otherwise. Love the body sculpt and this is my preferred articulation set up.
It's weird how much the What If head fits with Civil War Peter's art. But for me, I want to make these into my MVP spiders.
Definitely man. I could live with the joint system because it keeps the figure sturdy and it’s workable but the lack of gold paint is a little wack. It’s KINDA gold but not enough.
