This man’s just improving a duet all by himself ranging from classical styles to experimental live on stage. Yeah just another average musician there. I’m sure no one will remember this obscure artist in a few years. (/s) Seriously though, talk about absurd levels of skill and talent! Man’s got a whole bunch of music theory students and teachers staring with their jaws dropped to the floor. Amazing for “some little vocal warmup”.
In my opinion these were much more interesting than any 1979+ vocal improvisation. Every one was different and included some parts from Prophets song and White Man.
So hauntingly beautiful. Also, kudos to their sound engineer for nailing all those effect changes. Queen has always been at the front of technology when it comes to their sound, and this live performance clearly shows that.
For all of those who are confused, The video begins with the ending of White Man, which converts into The Prophet's Song and heavily uses sound effects. The rest of the video is The Prophet's song with a sprinkle of White Man, although most of it is just improvisation (no text).
hallobaaaby what makes the echo and layering sound while he is actually singing, or was this programmed ahead of this performance, with synthesizer maybe? Personally, a little goes a long way just halfway thru!!!!!
Jan Hunt Jan, if you’d like to hear how I do this voice split singing go to my instagram @rosssin ( here one song: instagram.com/p/BidNSlsBd3d/ and here another: instagram.com/p/BiaQtHLhDCB/ ) I think it’s live, not recorded in advance. Echo and also some voice multiplier thingy! Cheers
WOW! First time to see this - the hair is standing up on my arms. Haunting but gorgeous sounds, can someone tell me about the Prophet's Song? I am not familiar with it.

slighty different than his 80's vocal improvisations, isn't it?
it's not an improvisation, it's the prophet song, only a little changed, it sounds incredible
Janemomo It was an improvisation based on white mam and prophet's song
you're right, it was my mistake
Anyway it is incredible
yes!!!
I came for an eeeeddo, not a close encounter. Awesome.
Love this. Improvisation mixing White Man and Prophets Song

How was this done? Anyone know????
Jan Hunt Some sort of vocoder kicks in, as if a keyboard splits the voice into harmonics
hallobaaaby uh---I am not musical so explain in easier terms? Thanks!

Queen didn't use synthesizers until the 1980's. It's stated on every album.
