I have to say, I watch your videos each Monday to just relax and chill. Thanks for your videos! Mahi is my favorite fish to eat! Good to see a lot of your one.
That was insane, that Marlin footage. It's so great you document your adventures. The craziness that we witness our there the average person never sees it and half of the people don't believe us, their loss. That's for sharing, you're the best!!
So I always hear that people catch limits of peanuts bc they say mahi grow at an astonishing rate so they are just that plentiful. Thank you for saying how delicate our fisheries are, and telling of how you just don’t see the bulls like you used to. I wish more people had your approach to fishing, and realized just how much we do impact the fisheries! Ps Mahi mahi are def one of the most beautiful fish in the sea! (And delicious!)
yea it really is a bummer, I don't care how fast they grow when you put 50-60 in the boat every time you go, and kill countless other shorts in the process. The population is gonna suffer. Hopefully they bounce back.
@@KeyWestWaterman You are one of the few You tubers that I think truly cares about our fisheries. Your channel is more like how much do I need vs. how much can I catch
What Madeline did with the chipotle & adobo sauce was fan-freaking-tastic! I’m going to try that! I wanted to share a little cooking hack that I like to do with that can of chipotle & adobo sauce - I dump the entire can into a bowl and purée everything - the chilis and the sauce and then use what I need for whatever recipe and poor the leftover sauce into a ziplock freezer bag and let it all settle along the bottom so that you can freeze it in the shape of tube and then break off whatever you want for the next couple of recipes. I use it for several recipes Beans, chili, marinade and a bunch of sauces and salsas - I love that can of chipotle & adobo sauce. That’s good stuff
And you guys are still friends. That's awesome. 😅 I just had some Mahi for dinner. I'm in my 50s, and fishing isn't like it was years ago, anywhere. Thanks for sharing, brother. I enjoy your channel.
Aaron, I've only seen one Mahi (dolphin) on one of the two charters I was on. The colors on that living fish literally stupified me. It was truly mesmerizing to see under a noon sun.
Dude what a banger video! The marlin was awesome and I love the underwater footage of the mahi mahi. When there are lots of little ones around it's worth rigging a mahi to troll. We hooked something crazy big in the Keys on a mahi once, it was quite the adventure. Thanks for sharing this, it's a great one.
Epic video with JM. I subscribed to your channel a few years ago because he shared a video you did. I played ball with his brother back in the day. We still go on hunting trips from time to time.
Live in Ohio so no access to fresh Mahi. Ran to local grocery to pick it up and all the fixings for what you guys made! Thanks for all of your awesome videos. Haven’t been able to make my annual summer Keys trip last couple of years. Miss it tremendously!
Aaron, I haven’t commented in quite some time, I have just been sitting back, enjoying what you do! Keep up the good work, I absolutely love everything you produce!
First and foremost, love your stuff! New to the channel but I’ve gone back and watched a lot of videos from 2 years ago to presently, and the consistency, different content, and way it’s brought full circle CCC style Is just unmatched. One question, over the last four or so years, what would be the biggest lesson you’ve learned from documenting your life? Again, thanks for doing what you do! Happy Monday.
really appreciate the kind words! keeps me going! just doing out best to enjoy life and share so positivity into the world. and to be honest, theres so many things I've learned but the first thing that comes to mind is that no matter what you do in life, how good your intentions are. Someone will always disagree with you, the way you do things, live your life, or even small things like how you butter your bread. and thats okay. Because of that and how much I get "judged" some days by people who don't actually know me. I've learned that I will never judge a pair of shoes I've never personally walked in, so to speak.
Fan long time. This was exciting for me! One of my best. I have enjoyed your channel for a long time. My best was the chef you took fishing and then cooked . East Texas 70 year old that says thanks. !!!!!
Awesome footage of the school of mahi!!! Recipe tweak; try corn tortillas instead of the flour, just need to soft fry them before making the tacos, it adds such great flavor and even fried it is healthier than flour tortillas, oil choice depending.
Aloha. Don’t know if you know this, but they now make 1/2&1/2 corn/flour tortillas. We get them on the west coast at Safeway. Publix should have them. Flexible as flour, texture as corn. All I use now.
Saw that one bull Mahi in the back at 19:02 🙃 Sometimes I feel like they pack up like lions, one or two males with many females in the pride. And sometimes they get finnicky if you pull the Bull (protector) out of the school. Nice work 😎
Exciting video. I remember reading somewhere that “Coryphaena hippurus “ Mahi-Mahi or common dolphin fish seldom live for long 5 years. So a 20+ pound fish is four or less years of age. Thats tremendous growth rate. The large fish might be migrating ? Man I’m craving a blackened Mahi sandwich!
yea they do grow extremely fast, I can't remember if I talked about it in this video. But I have in others, it could be something as simple as the migration changing. Because thats happened before with other species. All I know is I don't see as many for one reason or another.
Nice ring You did good Aaron. In 10 years or so take Maddy to your jeweler and surprise her with upgrade options . Mine said she never trade up but when those upgrades came out Guess what. Great vid.
Thanks for the video as always, I have a strict routine of eating between 6-7pm because of intermittent fasting and I always enjoy Monday nights because I get to watch your videos with my meal.
I'm so glad my phone spys on me. We were in Key West on a charter the same day you were filming this video. 7/6. I've probably talked about the trip a few times... ur vid pops up.. man, what a life to live brother. Excellent video, and we're definitely trying that recipe with our Mahi... what's the ratio again 😂
Great video, that was insane with the Marlin and Schooley video. I'm headed down the end of August staying in Marathon at my place there. I am going to definitely try this recipe with the "KWW Sauce" lol. Fish tacos are one of my favorites. Keep up the good work.
As I'm relatively new, I've gone back and looked at some of your older stuff,2,3,4 years ago, and dude : you were "the man" from day one - some of that old(er) stuff is phenomenal. When exactly, did this channel start?
For everyone else who doesn't know , Aaron has a shark episode that will blow you away, and a two part wreck dive, just to name a few. It's worth going back ; YT will ship you old ones once they see you going back. (There's one where a shark smacks him in the head, fer real - a head butt from a shark.(don't ask me which one.))
mahi are tricky when they are all schoolies like that. other fish I have no issue judging size but I spend more time in the water than most. all of people struggle with that part.
Love the footage of the school! Have you considered a wrist mount for the GoPro?? I use one for river snorkeling and it works great - obviously we are in much shallower water, so head mount is not really an option. I need to come down for a visit!
This was a bad ass video, I miss fishing for dolphin in the keys so much. Also, you guys need to get a Blackstone grill, your cooking segments will thank you!
Aloha. My only experiences with Mahi was on Lanai. Nothing imo beats a full on feeding frenzy of Mahi while you get to watch from the tuna tower. The colors! Actually seeing them hit your baits. Sorry, they’re so small there. Great video, mahalo.
I’m distressed to hear the Mahi ( we always called them Dolphin in the Bahamas) population is thinning. Never thought it would happen, they were so prolific. Love your videos.
This is the same taco sauce recipe that I make! My only recommendation would be to toss the sauce in with the cabbage / lettuce before putting it on the taco.
Wow, so cool! I was in a school of bonito when a big marlin started jumping and attacking them, jumped 6 times in less than a few min. What do you think was wrapped around that marlin at 9:12 ?
Man you are awesome! I would kill to go on a trip with you and bring my flyrod for a day like this. I've still yet to bring it when we have a good Mahi day. But I live in the nc coast where we gotta go 70 miles to reach the stream. Great video
That was a fun video Aaron. I had to make some mahi tacos after watching this and had everything except blackening spice, so they were pretty good, but not great like yours. What do you use for blackening? Thanks!👍
You know you’re living your best life when you say “I think today is Saturday?”
😆 still getting used to not having somewhere to be
What is happening with the bandage on your shoulder
@KeyWestWaterman true conch. No where to go and all day to get there
To actually witness the marlin spear that dolphin is one of those things you may never ever see , so stinking cool !
Those fish circling under you is some pretty cool footage!
That’s why I love off shore fishing. Everyday is an adventure! Awesome footage of the marlin!!
it surely is!
That fight with the marlin was epic. All of those mahi was crazy!
That marlin with the dolphin is an unforgettable moment!
I have to say, I watch your videos each Monday to just relax and chill. Thanks for your videos! Mahi is my favorite fish to eat! Good to see a lot of your one.
Great video! Love the underwater video of the Mahi! I caught my first Mahi last summer off of rode island. Lot of fun, tacos look fantastic!
That was insane, that Marlin footage. It's so great you document your
adventures. The craziness that we witness our there the average person never sees it and half of the people don't believe us, their loss. That's for sharing, you're the best!!
haha thats why I do it! thanks for coming along as always!
Always makes my day when I get the notification that there’s a new video uploaded!
🙏
What a crazy video. I hope you and Madeleine enjoyed your present.
Absolutely incredible footage! I was literally just jumping and screaming with you. I'm soo pumped right now!
I use mahi to make ceviche, so good!
Love the friendship! That school was bananas that's something u see on a david attenburough nature show....that's awesome and beautiful to see!!
I’ve learned so much about fishing since I started watching your channel!🎣🤗
love to hear that! thats what its all about
That marlin was fun to watch!🤗
Super cool video. That school of mahi was impressive
Aqua man has sound tracks for his dives:) Too cool I'm jealous
So I always hear that people catch limits of peanuts bc they say mahi grow at an astonishing rate so they are just that plentiful. Thank you for saying how delicate our fisheries are, and telling of how you just don’t see the bulls like you used to. I wish more people had your approach to fishing, and realized just how much we do impact the fisheries!
Ps
Mahi mahi are def one of the most beautiful fish in the sea! (And delicious!)
This is another fishery that has been poorly managed, it was the recreational fisherman that pushed to reduce limits from 10 to 5 fish per person.
yea it really is a bummer, I don't care how fast they grow when you put 50-60 in the boat every time you go, and kill countless other shorts in the process. The population is gonna suffer. Hopefully they bounce back.

🇹🇹 love Mahi tacos, never had it with that sauce. Always had it with garlic, honey mustard, pepper sauce and some ketchup
What Madeline did with the chipotle & adobo sauce was fan-freaking-tastic! I’m going to try that!

I'm moving down there tomorrow because of my job!!! Great content

haha thanks for watching!
Maybe it's not as good as it was but it's still worth trying.
Aaron, I've only seen one Mahi (dolphin) on one of the two charters I was on. The colors on that living fish literally stupified me. It was truly mesmerizing to see under a noon sun.
Still pretty new to the channel, but look forward to every Monday new videos. Love fishing the Keys and appreciate your videos, insight, and recipes!
love to hear it!

Living the dream Mate living the dream....

Really loving the home decor 🏆

Indeed our favorite Post-Op...all us boys and girls love you.
haha thanks for tuning in!
Lookin forward to my shirts! Being out on the water with your bud is the best day ever!
Awesome footage of the school of mahi!!! Recipe tweak; try corn tortillas instead of the flour, just need to soft fry them before making the tacos, it adds such great flavor and even fried it is healthier than flour tortillas, oil choice depending.
Hope your back heals quickly
Awesome footage of the Phins in the water!
Love it when you've got a plan and execute it! How incredible 🐟👍💯🇺🇲🏝🧜♂️

Thanks!!!😊❤
bird, bird, bird. Bird is the word! Great under water footage!
🤣

Oh my gravy this looks so amazing. I love you "kinda of" did the recipe but I am sooooo doing this for supper!!!!
Saw that one bull Mahi in the back at 19:02 🙃 Sometimes I feel like they pack up like lions, one or two males with many females in the pride. And sometimes they get finnicky if you pull the Bull (protector) out of the school. Nice work 😎
Cheers. Thanks for the episodes, man.. be safe out there
The blue ones are my favorite
Vary cool,loved the attack Marlin.

Love the Wisconsin cutting board!
Nice ring You did good Aaron. In 10 years or so take Maddy to your jeweler and surprise her with upgrade options . Mine said she never trade up but when those upgrades came out Guess what. Great vid.
haha thanks for the tip!
That's about as crazy as you get. Marlin at the boat after the catch. Bet the blood was pumping!
it surely was
You can arc the fillets over a bowl to pull the pin bones easier. Just a cool trick recently shown on ATK.
Looks like lots of small mahi, but they should be keepers in no time at all 😊
for sure
Thanks for the video as always, I have a strict routine of eating between 6-7pm because of intermittent fasting and I always enjoy Monday nights because I get to watch your videos with my meal.
glad you enjoyed it! haha thats awesome
That was super fun that marlin was nuts
18:21 Oh My Frickin’ Word that is So Awesome!!! 🤿 🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠 Thanks for jumping in, Aaron! Epic!

Arron in all your years of diving in the keys have you seen a great white yet?
Nice to see that many fish!
Loved the underwater shots, but they all look about the same size.
How difficult is it to judge size while you’re hunting?
Great content, Thanks
mahi are tricky when they are all schoolies like that. other fish I have no issue judging size but I spend more time in the water than most. all of people struggle with that part.

Awesome diving and nice fishes, congrats 🎉
Hope you were able to find some keepers yesterday if you guys went out! We only found shorty lobsters off Tavernier on some patch reefs.
yea we found ours! hate to hear it
Epic Footage underwater seen Awesome....FishOn!!!!
We use to make this sauce in the Bahamas, we called it TIger sauce. Thanks for the memory
Again another amazing video
I’m distressed to hear the Mahi ( we always called them Dolphin in the Bahamas) population is thinning. Never thought it would happen, they were so prolific.
Love your videos.
As always super enjoyable
That was so sick!
that marlin has good aim lol
haha right
This is the same taco sauce recipe that I make! My only recommendation would be to toss the sauce in with the cabbage / lettuce before putting it on the taco.
I miss the big Mahi days, I hope to see them again in my lifetime but I have my doubts
yea I do miss them for sure!
So cool
glad you enjoyed it!
When you jumped in the water all I saw was one big school of fish tacos ;)
Mantab...nyimak keseruan mancing nya bro...
Wow, so cool! I was in a school of bonito when a big marlin started jumping and attacking them, jumped 6 times in less than a few min.
What do you think was wrapped around that marlin at 9:12 ?
Well that was cool as hell to see, like national geographic. Was it a blue?
yea I believe so, def not a marlin expert but looked like a small blue to me
Man you are awesome! I would kill to go on a trip with you and bring my flyrod for a day like this. I've still yet to bring it when we have a good Mahi day. But I live in the nc coast where we gotta go 70 miles to reach the stream. Great video
