Have you ever seen the real old timey (30s/40s) films of commercial tuna fishing?? They use huge 10-12ft long bamboo poles with no reels and only about 15-20ft of line. And the hooks have no barbs! Great episode. When I was young the commercials mostly fished for Kingfish out of Palm Beach Inlet, everyone gave them plenty of room. You can spot them by the inboard motor and long canopy. It's hard work. They jigged for them with a huge spool of line mounted near the canopy.
That was a cool video Aaron really enjoyed it and I agree with you to give those commercial fisherman all the respect in the room they need to do their jobs
That’s information everybody needs to be aware of. Many different types of commercial fishing, and they all involve hard, persistent work. The beauty of this type of fishing, it is sustainable. They could fish like this forever and there would always be fish...
Nice going. I lived in the Virgin Islands for a few years. I had a trick to get a yellow tail every time I went out inshore fishing. I used a floating Yozuri crystal minnow. Dark. Rattle. I had a small skiff. Troll around the rocks. Slow. 100’ of line out. As the lure just passes the rocks it’s fish on. I could catch 10 and sell or give away 7. The kingfish were fun. Mahi Mahi and tuna were a common catch. It was fun for too long.

GREAT VIDEO! LEARNED MONEY DON'T COME EASY FOR COMMERCIAL "BANDIT BOATS"
indeed!
This is a great informative video, Aaron. Also, thanks to Jose and X for sharing their working crib for a day.
can't thank them enough! thanks for tuning in!
Thanks for sharing this video. As someone that only fishes for fun, it’s nice to see the other end. I’ll appreciate the work that goes into the next yellowtail snapper meal I eat in a restaurant. Great content, keep up the fantastic work.
thanks for tuning in, glad you enjoyed it
They'd clean up with some silver side minnows depending on the time of year and availability.
yup!
Hadn't been watching as much since you got away from the hook and line and commercial stuff glad to see this.
I just film what it is that I’m doing at the time and what conditions are best for! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great episode. When I was young the commercials mostly fished for Kingfish out of Palm Beach Inlet, everyone gave them plenty of room. You can spot them by the inboard motor and long canopy. It's hard work. They jigged for them with a huge spool of line mounted near the canopy.
love to hear that! def is hard work. king fishing will kill ya!
Yesyes...
b-liners n groupers, kings n tunas put me thru school ... NC 89' - 95'
haha love it!
That was a cool video Aaron really enjoyed it and I agree with you to give those commercial fisherman all the respect in the room they need to do their jobs
glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching!
That’s information everybody needs to be aware of. Many different types of commercial fishing, and they all involve hard, persistent work. The beauty of this type of fishing, it is sustainable. They could fish like this forever and there would always be fish...
couldn't agree more!
It was fun for too long.
sounds like you got it figured out! thanks for tuning n
Hey bro I am from Singapore and I only started watching your videos this year as I am cropped up at home more often than I would've liked. You're so down to earth and your content is so enriching.
really love to hear you enjoy the channel, thanks so much for tuning in 🙏
Top 5 best KW Waterman videos! What kind of drone are you using Capt?

Thank you guys for working your ass off so people can have fish to eat. I know someone will complain but as a person who has spent his life hunting and fishing I know nothing come easy.

That drone shot of the shark chasing the yellowtail was awesome! Got him flipped into the boat just in time!
thought it was cool! glad you enjoyed it!
Fascinating. Thanks for documenting how it’s done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Its a good life, clean and honest. You will not get wealthy from it, but you get to be out there in that beauty all the time. They are a dying breed. Love to see them keep the tradition going. Miss it everyday. Used to fish out of those docks and haunt those waters a few moons ago. Thank you for bringing light to it and keep it up! Do a crawfish video on opening day craziness! Stone crab too, lots of potential for a lot of content! As always, you my friend, deliver! Thanks and keep it up!
couldnt agree more. was happy to get out with these guys. lots of stuff on the list to do!
That Sunset dang, beautiful!
Very educational and to the point vid. Take it easy Aaron

10:46 what rods are those?
Been looking at some jack poles but it has been hard to find videos of seasoned guys actually using them. Started looking at some JDM Keiryu rods.
not sure he said they are custom made.
