My husband is from Türkiye and these dogs just roam the streets of the little village his mom has a summer home in. They are fed and cared for by the community. They are so gentle and patient. With my kids I would walk to get fresh bread in the mornings and one would walk with us, stopping when we stopped and even waited outside the store for us to walk us back home.
Boz shepherds are normally very protective and loyal, typically used for guarding livestock so I wonder if they were just loyal to the humans of the village or saw everyone as livestock to protect 😅😂

I have an 80 lb. GSD mix... he whines and cries like an abused infant, despite being spoiled every day of this life. Just a big ole baby who is only happy when he's getting cuddles.
@danielleking262 she was a euthanasia rescue and had dog aggression so I had to call ahead and make sure the bathing place had no other dogs and pay to use the place (she was too big for our tub but needed it after the shelter) so it was a lot of build up for her to just refuse to go in 😅 so we just cuddled and cried until we figured something out.
I LOVE that you took the time to build up trust with her and that you showed her it was okay to be scared of a new situation. This just warms my heart! I bet you two have the closest bond.
my rescue is terrified of open top boxes (like the bath tub) and she's terrified of the sprinkler/ hose AND she is dog-reactive (she's my anxiety girl). so I bathe her in a walk-in shower.... but I just discovered that she likes to swim in ponds, so I'm not even trying to understand
Nate over on the Narrow Way Homestead UA-cam page has one that he uses as a guardian livestock dog. He's about 200lbs and is a good specimen for his breed.
@kizgintosbaga the Turkish Boz Shepherd pictured is a livestock guardian dog. They work everyday. The one pictured is small for an 11-month-old dog. And don't threaten his livestock. It doesn't work out well for those who do. They don't play.

Watched Nate find the Boz he wanted and he started training them right after the dog got acclimated. He's huge and he works his ass off guarding the property and the livestock. He was purposely purchased because of their ability to guard and herd. He's huge and he can be fierce and his deep, deep bark that goes through the hills. Do you farm or homestead by chance?

They are not fully kangal so therefore they don’t have the characteristics of a full bred kangal. He is talking about stray dogs who definitely don’t have the qualities for a shepherd dog.
that's an adorable house horse. I grew up in rural South East Turkey for a while in the 80s and 90s, and a local livestock guardian dog with cropped ears strayed onto our compound and decided she wanted to be adopted by us. She was such a huge soft sweetheart.

I also watch videos from this homesteading dude named Nate, and he also has a young Boz, but Az is so much more disciplined. He even puts himself in timeout whenever he does stuff he's not supposed to XD such a gentle breed
There's nothing any of us could do to stop him if he decided to fight back. And yet, he's afraid of the spray bottle and is the gentlest dog I've ever seen. This is why I love big dogs. I just want to give him a huge hug
I appreciate the fact she uses alterations in her voice/tone to reassure and calm the dogs she works with. In addition, she adjusts her approach to a dog depending on breed and temperament. In all, you can tell she loves dogs, is a professional at what she does and has patience beyond belief.
@@RoonMian ha yeah. One of the many reasons i decided to be reasonable and got a 40 lb, medium energy dog and not a 100 lb one. I don't have a huge yard either. I love huge dogs but I know I'm not in a position to give them ideal care.

I currently have an Akbash/Kangal cross that is about 170 pounds, and he acted exactly like this pup when I got him at 7 months old. Still does to a fair degree, right down to the chirping crying. I've owned a few other of the Turkish origin livestock guardian breeds, and they all act like this when being hand fed food.
I’m not personally familiar with the breed but there is another influencer who has a Turkish Boz named Az. Through his videos, he seems pretty similar to Kilo in personality but far more confident and calm. But that’s through the videos he posts.
Aksaray Malaklısı is huge too I did not know about this dog breed it's less known even in Turkey. Most of the Turkish dog breeds are variants of the Kangal why change a perfect design while you can calibrate it to your needs lol.
I think Kilo might be my most favorite dog you've ever groomed on this channel, and you've had some gems appear in your shop! It's obvious he took a liking to you and your partner, and that you had a blast spending time with him. I bet it was hard to let him go home!

Boz actually means light earth toned or ash toned like we call grizzly bears boz as well. But my god these shepherd dogs, including Kangal are the sweetest dogs!! Especially with children. I can guarantee almost anyone who met these dogs as a child will have the best memories of them. They can literally see through someone's heart and soul, they are VERY emotional and empathetic dogs. ❤

I know people with Boz shepards. They are very sweet dogs, that need a lot of socializing as pups. I have a Turkish Kangal as my service dog. She is amazing and it took a long time to socialize her.

Red rockets can happen whenever a dog is excited, agitated or anxious (basically whenever emotions are running high), *especially* in puppies. Out of all the dogs I've fostered over the past 5 years, it was always the puppies who tended to let it all hang out whenever they got worked up.
Branching out into also accepting cows and horses is a clever move.

Things I've noticed about these kind of dogs is that when they are raised/trained right, they are so derpy and good dogs.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I remember reading on another video that it happens sometimes when a dog is nervous or stressed.

Red rockets can happen whenever a dog is excited, agitated or anxious (basically whenever emotions are running high), *especially* in puppies. Out of all the dogs I've fostered over the past 5 years, it was always the puppies who tended to let it all hang out whenever they got worked up.
