Before I put a down rigger on the boat I use different size planers to get the baits down deep!!

Great tips. I go back and forth about whether or not to add a fish/depth finder to my kayak. It would definitely make things easier but part of the fun is in the hunt.
Absolutely I have the same thoughts as well! I think a depth finder would be handy because I don’t like loosing gear but, out fishing people with more equipment also has bragging rights lol
@@northforklures275 If you don't catch fish but you don't know where the fish are, you can blame the spot... if you don't catch any but you do know... it is you. I'd rather blame the spot personally. haha.

Amazing how much flash the leader has! I suppose you want an attractor which honestly probably is even better then a down rigger brings attention to the line then the lure/bait does the rest. Great tutorial! Good to see a video from you!
Dude that’s why I’m making these videos, lol.. I’m so confused.. it’s always changing, I’ve learned especially in different lakes. We have two lakes literally side y side one lake with record size Kokanee and I can barely bring in 5 when I know others who limit every time. I think the flasher definitely attracts them, in my opinion I think that the lure is the most important piece to get them to bite, we used Brads cut plugs and those were hot.
