Wonderful tips in this video, overall. I do want to issue a word of caution on the concept of "The wave is yours" -- I think it's important for surfers, especially beginners, to remember how the rules of priority and courtesy work in the line up. Priority goes to the surfer who by virtue of his or her position to the forming wave would stand to gain the longest ride. Generally, it would go to the surfer sitting on the inside closest to the wave peak. In some scenarios, the surfer who is sitting furthest on the "outside" would have priority. When in doubt, ask the locals how the rules of priority work at the particular surf spot.

Thank you for the great video(s)! Love that you always explain exactly what to concentrate on! I've learned to look, and be patient when trying to catch unbroken waves. Definitley going to start paddling earlier (and harder!), I think that is something that I did wrong!
This one is wildly helpful and makes me want to come down to Newquay soon! I hadn't heard of the chest to the board paddling tip before and I'd always wondered about the benefits of the different board types. Thanks for sharing!

4:34 super useful! Just need to get myself on a progresser course so I can get a bit more confident getting out to that line-up!

Sooo helpful. I’m trying to catch little green waves. This is exactly where I’m at!
