Pre Surf Rituals | 4 Essentials I Do Before Every Surf
Join Courtenay in El Salvador, as she shares her top four essential rituals that she swears by before hitting the surf. These simple yet crucial steps ensure that I'm fully prepared and primed for an epic session on the waves.
1.Apply Suncream Before the Surf: Protecting your skin from the sun's harsh rays is key, so lathering up with sunscreen is a must-do before paddling out.
2.Take Leash Off Surfboard: Before heading into the water, always make sure to remove the leash from your surfboard. It's a small step that can prevent any unnecessary tangles and makes it easier for putting it onto the car.
3. Check the Surf: Prior to diving in, take a moment to assess the surf conditions. Scan the waves, looking for the best spot to paddle out and any potential dangers or hazards that I need to be aware of.
4. Stretch: To ensure I'm loose and limber, Courtenay perform a series of dynamic stretches. This helps warm my muscles and joints, reducing the risk of injury and allowing me to perform at my best once I'm out on the water.

Any advice for short girls? I’m 4’11 and always struggle with length
Is it best to work with someone in a shop, especially if you might be an irregular size? I'm 5' tall, large bust and having a hard time finding a suit online that might fit.
Yes definitely! They will know what sizes in which brand works best! Alternatively if you're landlocked, you could call the store and give them your measurements and they can help recommend something to fit :)
I have the same issue - larger hips and bust. I go into shops or warehouses to try them on. I love the fit of Billabong’s Women’s Synergy wetsuits. One key thing is to go a size up, otherwise it’s a struggle to get into.
Since I always wear a bikini underneath, I'd been wondering why others seem so concerned for me changing out of my wetsuit in public?🤭

Surfboard shaper/ ding repair man here.. please do this! It will save you some money and save me some work. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to repair tails because a leash string pulled through a rail or tail of a surfboard. Good on ya sister for spreading the word!
