- In part 2 we have more surf tips on how to catch the wave of your dreams. Transitioning from the whitewater to the unbroken waves is a big step. It's a bit like getting married - it’s a commitment, you have to be prepared for it, it’s hard work, you don't want to rush into it, there are ups and downs, but hopefully ultimately it’s very fulfilling; hopefully you’ll create a lasting relationship with surfing.
Surfing makes you feel really alive, even in those moments when you're getting rag-dolled by a force much more powerful than you. At Pura Vida Adventures our core mission is to create life-changing experiences. Once you dive into our Universe it can really shake up things in your world. Surfing the unbroken waves is an adrenaline rush and will give unforgettable memories. However, you have to be well prepared before you encounter these waves!
In this video, we run through some key tips for tackling unbroken waves. Here are some of the video highlights:
0:31 Paddle like you've never paddled before
1:24 You don't need to have Bette Davis eyes, but you do need to use them
3:11 Angling is the key to surf nirvana
5:14 The cars analogy to help you choose your line
6:44 A quick word on the 'c' word
We hope these tips will get you on your board and on to great adventures at Pura Vida Adventures-or anywhere else the waves take you! Very few videos explain the surfing with the degree of accuracy you do. Congratulations, I wish I had a trainer like you. The fact is that many excellent surfers can hardly articulate the subject matter.
Just watched part 1 and 2 catching the unbroken wave. I'm 68 and been body surfing my whole life....only while on summer vacations. Now living on Florida's east coast I've been working on surfing. Your videos are great, easy to watch, and very informative. Thanks for sharing
+1 for use of the word “crivens” (and the very clear explanations)
Hehehehe
Feel the stoke people! Surfing is the best thing ive ever learnt to do. It's taken me 5 months but I'm finally trimming the green wave! love it
Finally the right explanations!
Thank you so much.

@Imran Holden yea, I've been using KaldroStream for since november myself :)
@Imran Holden yup, been watching on kaldrostream for since december myself =)
Your videos are so helpful!! Not too long in the slightest!
I really like the airplane analogy. I was too far forward on my board and nose dived. Moved back and was taking large drops, now I'm back to moving more forward and working on my paddling. I hope this works. Thanks for these videos!
thx for this sharing!!! it's really helpful !!
Massively helpful explanation Thank you Helen!!

Thank you for the sharing, very helpful
Thank you for letting us know.
Super helpful, thank you
lovely channel and explanations
Thanks for the great videos. It is very helpful and really helped me progress. As an airline pilot though, we do not go to turbo mode right before rotation haha but i love the analogy, it actually helped out as I always tend to slowdown when I think I am catching the wave (And then it goes below me...)... when I actually have to do the exact opposite. Once again, great videos.

Muchas gracias por tu trabajo. Eres exelente maestra.
Gracias!
such a good video!
Thank you. 🤙
until last week I had always assumed I should ride stage 3 waves ! :) needless to say it was very frustrating. but I somehow got used to it, I chicken out and lie close on my board and gingerly shift my weight backward so I get enough push from the waves and yet don't nose dive. on good times my board end up on the top portion of the wave and I can see down below it's almost I'm hanging over the roof of a house :), then when the waves subside, I start popping up.
Hi! Great video! Thank you. Question : what do you use /wear for sun protection?!?!
lovin it
love it
nice video, great explanation!!! cheers from Papua, Indonesia!

Thank you.
Another great instructional video 🙏☀️

You are amazing women thank you so much 😊
7:22 you can do a 20 minute long video and i`d still watch it. I'm just struggling to get the unbroken waves here in Chile and this are very good tips thanks!
You are welcome. I am glad we can help.
when you said the wave goes really steap what does it means? appreciate your help
There is no such a thing like plane switching to a turbo mode before take off :)
Most airships use full throttle right from the beginning of the runway.
Thank you for the videos!
Thank you Helen for your Videos. Where are that Beach and how call?
Most of those waves were filmed in the dry season at Playa Carmen in the Santa Teresa area of Costa Rica. There are also a few waves filmed down the road at Cabuya, Mar Azul and Playa Hermosa.
Thank you for your Info. Dry season means which months period more and less? Thanks @@puravidaadventuressurfyoga9877
@@emilianoalcaraz1667 The dry season in Santa Teresa is from mid November until the beginning of May. The swell is smaller and more consistent in the dry season. From May until mid November (the wet season) the swell is bigger with longer periods, but it can get inconsistent and stormy. However, during the wet season the pointbreaks at Cabuya and Mar Azul are excellent, especially for longboarders.
@@puravidaadventuressurfyoga9877 Thank you for your Videos and information.
I'll consider a trip to Pura Vida but only if you're still there. I prefer your style of instruction : )
Update: Nix that. Just now realized (per About section) that you're women only! Major bummer.
i am trying but i dont know how to ride left or right :(
7:29
Damn she said Ford pinto. 😂
Haha a ford pinto! Not many people know what a pinto was I bet. That me a pinto. ..At best!
explanation is great but it doesn't proper to the title of video. It's all about how to ride, not how to catch.
thx to you, now I imagine i'm Dorothy with Terminator-owl vision, holding my fart and looking for mr. right:)
No one will watch it, 70k Views second part lol
A skater can also be a "she". Don't just assume they are a "he"
good video!!
