  • In our brand new DEEP series we interview fascinating people who have lived unique lives. In this episode we have talked to Dr Enver Tohti, who was a surgeon in Xinjiang province of China when he was forced to harvest organs from the prisoners shot in front of him. Dr Enver explained how he sought asylum in the UK after exposing Chinese government secret nuclear weapons testing program as well as the crimes against Uyghur population.
Thanks to Dr Enver for taking part!

Such a brave man. He has put his own life on the line by speaking out and had to keave his country. He has sacrificed so much just to tell the truth.
Even in the UK, he will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Please keep this man safe at all costs.

I remember seeing Dr Tohti on another video, incredibly harrowing. I wonder how commonplace this actually is in China?

Very. They use ethnic minorities and dissidents. People 'disappear' a LOT in China. Read about Falun Gong.

I think this channel is really great quality and fascinating. The only thing, or two things, I'd change are:
1 no spoilers as an intro (have to fast forward it as you show best bit as an intro and I don't want to know before it starts)
2 an hour long episodes would be better
    But it's your call 😊

Love the feedback and you make great points!
On the spoilers…totally get it. We’ve done a lot of data testing and the videos with spoilers do better - maybe people want to get a sense of the more interesting stories before they commit?
And on hour long episodes…watch this space👀👀👀
