DIY Wheelchair E-Wheel Test 1

The first test ride on my homemade wheelchair E-Wheel attachment that I designed and had my family and friends build. I didn't have the parts in yet for the brake or have the battery mounted, but I couldn't wait. Learned a lot from this test and made some tweaks. Everything is mounted now, brake works and there's more test ride footage coming soon.

the coming of affordable ebike kits with better batteries and inventive people modifying them for wheelchairs is a blessing for so many people. Nice work. Beats the hell out of the $10k electric chairs if you can build your own for under a grand!

Love the safety gear! any links for the hub motor, or battery setup? I was looking at buying one but the price range is between 2,500 and 10K CAD. So ordering parts from China and a bit of design I think 1K tops for a home setup

Seeing 750W 36V front wheel ebike conversion kits on ebay lately (Australian dollars - less in US$). With some welding for a clip-on frame to a $100 or so wheelchair and a suitable 36V battery. I think your idea is highly possible. Picked up a 10Ah 36V scooter battery and charger from AliExpress recently for under A$200 if that helps.
